Stanwell House Hotel  

Staff were very friendly, rooms comfortable, food excellent. Confortable place to stay when travelling alone. Lovely holiday hotel.

The car park, we got stuck in the gravel on thevslope which meant our stay began with pushing it out! Not a good start!

Headboard over bed - a ledge meets one's head exactly in the most comfortable position for watching TV, and a padded headboard would be a great improvement. Room temperature excellent but duvet TOG a bit too warm.

Location was perfect for enjoying the town and the quay. Lovely walks by the river and The Solent. Conservatory at the hotel is a great place to meet friends at any time of the day.

Our double bed was two singles zipped together. It was a new bed, but nowhere near as comfortable as a double.

Excellent and friendly staff, comfortable surroundings and delightful menu for both dinner and breakfast.

The hotel was itself very luxurious and I was lucky enough to be upgraded to a very nice room. Quality of food and wine in restaurant - excellent.

The location in the centre of Lymington is ideal. The service was excellent and the food was very good. The heart of the building oozes character, with a particularly atmospheric 'garden room' and a dining area overlooking Lymington High Street.

Two small criticisms: the pillows were very soft and provided little lift. A combination of soft and more solid would be better. The hotel car park is not well laid out and seems open to casual users thereby inhibiting its use for residents.

Ambiance, relaxed atmosphere, friendly, helpful and courteous staff. Food extremely good.

Meant to mention it before leaving and forgot. We were in Room No.2 And the toilet seat was dangerously loose. If an overweight or elderly person sat on it could be disastrous consequences! Suggest it be fixed. The only other slight problem we found was the extreme warmth of the feather duvet. Despite not having any heating on in the room at all, we were so very hot all night long. This however may just be a personal preference.

The friendly welcome, and the fact that the staff wished my wife a happy birthday the following morning.

Located on main street, does not match the pictures on web. Not the standard finishes of an original boutique hotel.

Excellent welcome from reception and all the hotel staff. We were upgraded to a charming garden view suite which was delightful. Had a delicious seafood meal in the restaurant, the Tapas menu was particularly good value. The hotel's location in the centre of Lymington, means there are lots of interesting individual shops close by and within walking distance the town quay and boat yards galore. The New Forest is only a short drive away.

The hotel was lovely and original. Staff were very helpful and there was a great christmassy atmosphere. It was in an ideal location for seeing the new forest aswell as having lovely pubs and restaurants close by. The breakfast was excellent and the little bar a really good addition to the place, perfect for a drink when you arrive and excellent cocktails.

We had a great time and give it top marks the only thing that could be improved was perhaps a more powerful shower and the attitude of the older woman at breakfast who I think was in charge as she was quite gruff and rude to the lovely waitress that served us.

Our room was lovely and cosy and welcoming. We found the staff to be very helpful. This was our first stay at Stanwell House and we would definitely recommend to friends and will go back again in the near future. Could not fault our stay in any way.
