Score from 76 reviews Wonderful
Friendly, helpful staff Lovely decor
Flakey Wi-Fi No in-room tea/coffee facilities
Location, gardens, very friendly staff and lovely rooms.
The breakfast. The continental buffet was good but the cooked breakfast was very disappointing. Kept lukewarm in metal trays. Also the staff were slow in clearing the dirty plates off the breakfast table. Not we expected given the rest of the hotel and service. We would certainly go again but we would give the cooked breakfast a wide berth unless they change the way they serve it and keep it warm
dog in room opposite. change of room carpet very dirty tv not working. Quality of breakfast not good as expected.
Staff Service Food Grounds
Attic Room - very warm Poor wifi connection No tea/coffee facility in bedroom Distance to local amenities
Poor wi if connection
the peace and quiet.Friendly helpful staff.good facilites.
our key kept getting stuck in the door to our room! also alot of wasps on the terrace.
My visit was a whistle stop visit but if you are looking for that get away from it, pampering, relaxing and chilled experience then Stapleford Park is the place to stay.
It was a glorious sunny day and the room was very very hot, you are supplied with a fan as long as you don't mind that humming all night
Staff were very helpful and friendly, the food was excellent, scenery and gardens was amazing, spa treatment was excellent. Everything was outstanding. We really enjoyed the peaceful relaxing couple of days. We will be returning in the near future.
Breakfast to our room was a bit of a mess up as we didn't recieve everything we ordered but it didn't spoil our time away as it was only a minor error.
Loved the grounds and location , staff were lovely .
Rooms were poorly stocked ie beds not great, no tea , coffee maker, no mini bar , wifi non existent , small TV , not doing the beautiful hotel or lovely staff justice.
This is a high quality country house hotel - ideal for relaxing and unwinding. Great golf course - under-utilised, too so in good condition.
It is expensive so you tend to be conscious that the pounds are racking up every time you order anything. The lowest priced wine is more than £30 for instance. But everything does tend to exude quality.
The bar staff were particularly helpful and friendly. Loved the beautiful grounds.
The grounds were very impressive and there was a nice swimming pool. Also it was quiet and the staff were friendly and helpful.
The room was smaller and dingier that we had expected (the pictures on the website aren't representative) eventhough we were meant to have had an 'upgrade'. The food is fussy - and not cheap. I think we would have found somewhere else to eat, particulary with a child - eventhough there was a children's menu. Service in the restaurant was mixed - were sometimes you had to ask for some things a number of times before there was a response. Would I go again - probably not on balance...
Beautiful estate, hotel beautifully furnished wonderful views from every location, very relaxing stay we would love to return .
A really good Country House hotel. Excellent variety of things to do. Staff were helpful, warm and friendly. We would go back. The Spa was also excellent.
No bread rolls, or any kind of bread available for continental breakfast. Quality of dinner was not as good as we would have expected.
The location is stunning, the property itself is gorgeous, the staff were lovely. We only stayed for 1 night but it was a fantastic experience.
Can be expensive, but if you have the money worth it
Staff Luxury accommodation
Expensive restaurant but the food and service don't match the price.
Everything except for the very creaky floor-boards and the nocturnal habits of the occupants in the room above Lyttle. Definitely will return! Thank you, again.
The friendly staff and service and they even provided a birthday card for my wife and decorated the dessert with "Happy birthday".
Very little but we never like the "optional" service charge. This virtually becomes part of the price, and we prefer to tip for service as appropriate, rather than have it levied. Even if it is shared between the staff, it is probable that they receive 20% less because the hotel will pay VAT on it's takings, whereas the staff will not be VAT registered and if received direct will , even though taxable to income tax, receive it VAT free
Friendliness of staff Beautiful grounds and house
Superb atmosphere and great surroundings
Bedroom, ambience, gardens & grounds, indoor pool, well equipped gym.
Pool temperature (pretty cold - advised that this was being rectified), sauna not switched on (oversight on part of pool staff), tasteless porridge (made with water - not cooked and no seasoning), restaurant not open and a la carte menu not available due to lack of bookings.
Staff were all excellent. Bed was comfortable.
Standard room rates are ridiculously high, but got my room last minute for around £100. Hotel location is miles from anything, even a petrol station is about 6 miles away. Pool/Spa is OK, but nothing exceptional, which it should be for the standard room rates. Steam/sauna rooms are tiny and sauna was not working. No showers outside steam/sauna which I have never come across before and consider unhygienic. Dinner choice was limited, very high prices, tiny portions, but very good quality. Couldn't get either a phone or WIFI signal in most of the hotel. No draft drinks available, only bottled. Tiny TV in room. Room connected to another with paper thin door, so could hear the TV as if it was in my room until late. No tea or coffee making facilities in room, which is unheard of….especially for somewhere calling itself luxury.
Lovely room with a huge bed. Eggs Benedict. The wine. The real fire. The view of the lake. Comfortable bar where we could read. The pool. The gardens. The ratio of staff to guests. Awareness of staff.
Would have liked to known the dress code a little better (my husband booked so it might be his fault...). Would like to know that the hotel has eco-friendly and fair-trade policies.
The hotel, it's facilities, it's setting. The spa package was exactly what we wanted.
At these prices details matter and there were a number of details that could be improved. Could not find the pool or connect to the wifi. Poor service at lunch. Poor signage from Melton.
Location - spacious rooms - relaxed atmosphere - great food and drink- log fires lit in the rooms making it cosy
Rooms for residents taking dogs situated at the top of the hotel. No rooms available for residents to sit when Saturday afternoon teas being served - felt we were in the way
