Score from 476 reviews Very good
A simple, basic twin room, very clean with very comfortable bed. The makings of continental breakfast with cereal, milk, fruit juice, croissants, butter & jam, tea coffee & chocolate provided in the room. Very convenient for the city centre. I would stay here again.
The shared bathroom was not a problem although at busy times it might have been. Being city centre there was a fair bit of traffic noise. Neither of these points are a 'dislike' and were clear from the website when booking.
The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The view of the pub across the street and of the open air market were enjoyable.
Breakfast consisted of a previously opened milk container and two boxes of cereal on top of my room refrigerator the first morning. The next evening two croissants and three bananas were delivered. There is no dining facility. No one was available at the desk at checkout, so I dropped the keys and left. It felt unprofessional
Sharing a bathroom.
Central location, friendly staff, carried bags, clean bedding, good sized rooms, warm. Great for a base. Good flat screen TV and wifi. Large wardrobes.
Shabby interiors, separate shared bathroom between three rooms, this was misleading on booking. Breakfast was poor, left in the room overnight. Misleading as it looked as though they had a cafe but this was separately owned. Very noisy location throughout the night with lorries, dustcarts and collections for the nearby bars etc.
Very well priced for a central location.
Staff were extremely helpful with an issue (lost property) that was not related to their premises, very grateful for their assistance
Noise of city center. Sharing bathroom. No breakfast room. My room was in part a storeroom for linen etc.
We were going to the New Theatre and it was 2 mins round the corner.
The room was a little small for a double and single bed for 3 people.
2 mins to bus station
every hotel is expensive in oxford，not good value to stay there overnight
-poor facilities - nowhere to hang towels - no extra pillows available (there were only 2 in the room) the cafe downstairs no longer belongs to the b and b so breakfast is just a croissant and some fruit in your room. (this is deceptive because all the pictures on the website have the 'Star Cafe' as being downstairs. very noisy at night - no double glazing.
Location in centre, friendly staff.
Trucks of the theatre loading out with lots of noise from 01.00 - 05.30. Three times a week, the drivers told us. We were there on a friday and saturday night. Couldn't sleep. No water when shower at lower floor is in use. Breakfast very limited.
Value for money (155 GBP/night) and general conditions (extremely noisy and bad smell)
The bed was very comfortable. The location is excellent, right in the centre of Oxford. As a result it is noisy until late at night but that's to be expected as the guest house is on Oxford's busiest street for restaurants, clubs, and bars.
Bathroom was shared between 3 rooms. I would only expect that in places 30% cheaper. The room furniture is very cheap - new, functional but flimsy. The walls could all do with a fresh coat of paint. Without decent sound insulation the noise outside, and the noise between rooms, was a nuisance.
Location.... That is all
The place is set up like a hostel and the facilities are dingy to say the least. I was also shocked at the so-called continental breakfast which was in reality a couple of fun size boxes of cornflakes and some milk in the fridge. Will not stay again
TV- helpful staff-breakfast- location
Old small property - no elevator, staff will carry your bags up.
Clean room, bathroom next door, all worked in room.
Terrible noise from first thing in morning with deliveries, scaffolding, bin men tipping bottles etc.
One of staff is not friendly
Being so central was good and we just wanted somewhere to sleep and the room was nice and clean. Good for if you just need a base in Oxford.
Breakfast was some stale coissants on a plate with a banana.
Scruffy appearance: off-hand: self-made breakfast
It is within walking distance of anything you want to do in downtown Oxford. The staff were friendly and accommodating.
I could have used an extra pillow on my bed (which was twin-sized). Breakfast is in your room and very rudimentary -- juice boxes, a bowl of cereal and milk. Not much "breakfast" at this Bed and Breakfast.
Rooms were clean and smart, if small.
Over priced for what it was. General decor of the building was very poor.
I was asked to pay 5 pounds if I wish to store my luggage at the reception after checking out, which I found totally unacceptable.
Excellent location, very convenient. Staff were nice and helpful. Everywhere was clean, the room especially was smart and comfortable, although the shared bathroom was a bit tired.
It's in the middle of the city centre, so it's noisy (more the early morning street cleaners and deliveries than the late night revellers) but it's mostly to be expected given it's location.
Locaction and recetionist
The reception area was like a taxi cab station and stairways to rooms were shabby.
Location is in the middle of the Oxford centre
Noisy, because of market which starts building up early in the morning.
