Location was excellent as we had to catch a early bus. Staff helpful and friendly.
Up stairs, but staff helped with luggage.
The location is excellent. Just around the corner from the bus station. Room was small but very clean and the bed was comfortable. Wifi worked fine and staff was friendly.
They are renovating and it was a bit noisy. But I always bring ear plugs and it wasn't a problem for me.
Able to open the window. Able to boil water for tea & coffee, or whatever, in room & ask for additional cream. Good breakfast for cost of stay. Very convenient for bus & train as well as right in Oxford city center.
Noisey location on weekend evenings. Shower on my floor not good - deterioration of window sill due to water.
street noise on a sat night was vile
Location noisy. Building work going on had to ask for breakfast pricey for what it was
Spartan digs but helpful staff and central location
The coffee was good and the croisant was warmed up
Tiny room. Bed fills it with no bedside table possible Shower room so small you couldn't actually use the basin unless you stood sideways on. One towel, decent size and quality and one tiny bar of soap ( oh and the last guests shampoo) . No bath mat Noisy all night- dustcarts and deliveries to Debenhams next door early in the morning. The nroad is a dead end so lots of reversing as well just to add to the sounds .Breakfast taken in the cafe downstairs as I said the coffee was fine. If this is the going rate for B &B in Oxford then I am in the wrong business. I wish I had paid the extra £50 that would have got me a proper room, space, free toiletries, quiet etc at the Malmaison
Clean rooms of a decent size Good location
Overpriced Slow WiFi Continental breakfast only
Attitude of owner and staff. Unhelpful and rude Photo misleading ( showed nicer pub across the road) Much poorer quality of decor expected for £160 per night even if in city centre. No compromise on price on questioning Wish I'd gone to holiday inn at pear tree roundabout ( my usual choice)
Probaly ok for "backpacker tourists".
All around a very nice little hotel
Great location; pleasant staff; comfortable bed.
Room a bit hot and stuffy in summer, though fan provided. Noisy street at night right below our room.
Good price, very central location near train and coach station. The manager was very accommodating, letting us check in early (as the room happened to be ready early) so we could change before going to a wedding. The rooms and shared bathroom were very well decorated and clean. We were pleasantly surprised.
We stayed in July and the room got very hot. There was a cooler in the corner of the room that didn't seem to work so we slept with the window open which was very noisey as there are many bars and venues just outside. Also the TV didn't work. It turned itself off and on every 2 minutes so it was impossible to watch anything.
common toilet and shower
Cleanliness, friendly staff, spacious rooms, bang in the middle of the city centre
Rubbish collection point across the street
There wasnt any wifi..
All the rest. Owner totally unfriendly, room small and not perfectly clean, absolutely not worth it 120 pounds a night
noisy, poor food poor location
not a bad room.
cleanliness was questionable, price was extortionist. if you go to oxford, use connections to stay at a college.
convenient to walk around colleges
Very noisy location.
Close to rail station Helpful staff for luggage as there is no elevator/lift.
Very noisy due to parked bus immediately below window with engine running until about 3 am. City recycling operation across street started very early with loud banging noises. No A/C (Shared) Bath high off floor and no non-slip bottom.
It's noisy outside late at night, especially Thursday Friday Saturday. That's cause it's right at the heart of things! Which is good. With the window shut it was pretty quiet, but then it was hot.
The friendliness of the staff, the helpfulness as well. And while I was at first not quite sure about it, I liked staying there very much. Very convenient and clean,
The first time we entered the hotel I was a little taken aback. The front desk is crowded and it was a bit dark.
It was noisy inside the hotel and the other guests were noisy. We didn't feel especially secure, too, as our door had been damaged and was held together by duct tape.
the room was great and the cost good; the staff was very solicitous and helpful
being across the street from the Red Lion which was very noisy on this Saturday night; this meant that we could not leave the window open so the room was warmer than we would have liked
