just wifi and central place
not clean, very small room/bed, very noisy environment
- breakfast was poor and not restocked the next day. - noisy, single glass, lot of noise on weekend. You hear neighbour cough - washing dishes in small sink downstairs, only cold water - bathroom in very bad shape, cold/hot water varies the whole time - 170 pounds for 2 nights, which I would say is very expensive
I booked a double room for two persons, the charged me an extra £25 for that. For the money I paid next time I could go to a 5 stars hotel
staff friendly & helpful, room a bit scruffy but clean & comfortable
The B&B was good itself from every aspect. However, the unexpected long-lasting noise through out the nights was really annoying. There are some bars near it, so people get noisy at midnight on the street. And many vehicles stop near to (un)load goods, or recycle rubbish.I didn't sleep well for 2 days!
noise poor breakfast
Free Wifi. Proximity to city centre.
Price for accommodation and facilities, unjustified. Entrance, hall, stairs and landings need painting and decorating. Sink in the bottom of the stairs was the most random feature of this establishment. Bathrooms newly fitted, but finishes poor, silicone etc... messy. In dire need of double glazing. There seemed to be a recycling, general waste collection going on on the morning of our stay, which could be heard a clearly as if we were stood outside. Continental breakfast left a lot to be desired. With a cheap carton of long life milk and a couple of almond croissants that were dated for the day of our stay- cheap! Plugs around the room positioned in inadequate to be functional.
The location is great. Next to the bus station and everything is at walking distance. Good Wifi and a modern tv with plenty chanels.
It's very noisy. Even with earplugs I hardly slept. All trough the night there was noise because of trucks loading or unloading for the market. There is no room where they serve breakfast. There is a fridge in the room with 1 bowl and 1 spoon on top and some cereal (2 person room). In the fridge there was 1 open milk carton. The first night there were 2 croissants brought up for breakfast, the second night not.
Great location, directly downtown and a short walk to everything, clean and comfortable rooms, shared bathroom was fine.
The street noise! From 6-8 am both days there were bottles after bottles bottles dropping out of big bins into trucks with trucks backing up with beeping horns. Also, the front smells like sewerage.
The location was great, its really near everywhere. Rooms and bathroom were clean, staff was helpful.
The bathroom is shared but its clean.
very noisy all night couldn't sleep
A simple, basic twin room, very clean with very comfortable bed. The makings of continental breakfast with cereal, milk, fruit juice, croissants, butter & jam, tea coffee & chocolate provided in the room. Very convenient for the city centre. I would stay here again.
The shared bathroom was not a problem although at busy times it might have been. Being city centre there was a fair bit of traffic noise. Neither of these points are a 'dislike' and were clear from the website when booking.
The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The view of the pub across the street and of the open air market were enjoyable.
Breakfast consisted of a previously opened milk container and two boxes of cereal on top of my room refrigerator the first morning. The next evening two croissants and three bananas were delivered. There is no dining facility. No one was available at the desk at checkout, so I dropped the keys and left. It felt unprofessional
Sharing a bathroom.
Central location, friendly staff, carried bags, clean bedding, good sized rooms, warm. Great for a base. Good flat screen TV and wifi. Large wardrobes.
Shabby interiors, separate shared bathroom between three rooms, this was misleading on booking. Breakfast was poor, left in the room overnight. Misleading as it looked as though they had a cafe but this was separately owned. Very noisy location throughout the night with lorries, dustcarts and collections for the nearby bars etc.
Very well priced for a central location.
Staff were extremely helpful with an issue (lost property) that was not related to their premises, very grateful for their assistance
Noise of city center. Sharing bathroom. No breakfast room. My room was in part a storeroom for linen etc.
We were going to the New Theatre and it was 2 mins round the corner.
The room was a little small for a double and single bed for 3 people.
2 mins to bus station
every hotel is expensive in oxford，not good value to stay there overnight
-poor facilities - nowhere to hang towels - no extra pillows available (there were only 2 in the room) the cafe downstairs no longer belongs to the b and b so breakfast is just a croissant and some fruit in your room. (this is deceptive because all the pictures on the website have the 'Star Cafe' as being downstairs. very noisy at night - no double glazing.
Location in centre, friendly staff.
Trucks of the theatre loading out with lots of noise from 01.00 - 05.30. Three times a week, the drivers told us. We were there on a friday and saturday night. Couldn't sleep. No water when shower at lower floor is in use. Breakfast very limited.
Value for money (155 GBP/night) and general conditions (extremely noisy and bad smell)
The bed was very comfortable. The location is excellent, right in the centre of Oxford. As a result it is noisy until late at night but that's to be expected as the guest house is on Oxford's busiest street for restaurants, clubs, and bars.
Bathroom was shared between 3 rooms. I would only expect that in places 30% cheaper. The room furniture is very cheap - new, functional but flimsy. The walls could all do with a fresh coat of paint. Without decent sound insulation the noise outside, and the noise between rooms, was a nuisance.
Location.... That is all
The place is set up like a hostel and the facilities are dingy to say the least. I was also shocked at the so-called continental breakfast which was in reality a couple of fun size boxes of cornflakes and some milk in the fridge. Will not stay again
