Location of the hostel is the only thing I recommend. It is close to many tourist attractions, located near to picadilly circus underground station, convenient for shopping and travelling to other places.
1. The hostel is extremely difficult to find, no obvious sign outside the door except number of the house, in fact I see other guests walking outside the house the hesitated. 2. Reception is in a dark bar at lower floor, seems very strange 3. The shower is not user-friendly, water cannot come out until you push the button on the wall, and the water is 'out-of-control', it comes out and just like a heavy rain. 4. Luggage storage after checking out is £5 per person per day, and check out time is after 11 am. The worst thing is, when we checked out and asked for luggage storage before 11 am, the staff is impatient and rude and shouted to my mom who cannot understand English- very unhappy check out.
They close the reception between 3.00am to 12.00am every day. You can leave the hostel between these hours but you can't go into.
Hair dryers were available Free wifi Locks were on every door
Shower doors didn't stay shut. Had to walk through a dark, dingy room full of old mattresses and horrible brown carpet before finding my room. Broken blinds in the room. Not enough power points for the amount of beds. No storage for belongings when having a shower.
In my room, it was colder than on the floor, the windows weren't isolated, though they were closed, cold air got in the room!
beds were terrible, it was dirty, personal came in without knocking, no towels, no light switch inside the room, no heating, can't enter between 1:00 - 12:00 (also lockers are not available at that time) way smaller than described.
location, free wifi in lobby area.
The curfew. there was no sign outside of the building with the hostel name on it, the hostel is kind of run down.
The staff was nice
While the staff was nice, there is no denying that this place is literally a run down "4 star" wannabe hostel. It is the worst place I have been to and a bit creepy! The name is very misleading. They really need to renovate the place asap. Sorry to say but i'd give it minus 4 stars
NOTHING TO LIKE
ALL THAT ONE CAN I AM SURPRISSED THAT YOU HAVE SUCH IN PROPERTY IN YOUR LIST
Remember the scene in Matilda where the principal locks her in the closet of nails? That is this hostel. Getting to reception is scary, dark, unlit, and in the basement of the building. Reception has horrible hours and locks you out of the hostel from 330AM to 11 or 12 noon the next morning. The rooms smelled of mold. The staff was incompetent, one asked me to write a sign for him that said "FLOODED - CLOSED" for the bathroom... which was flooded and had to be closed. The owner/receptionist has the creepiest vibe about him and talked in circles. He took every opportunity to default to blaming "the company you booked through" for charges/policies instead of just explaining them and answering questions outright. It was weird and made me feel like I was being taken advantage of. There is only wifi in the basement, which is locked (even from inside the building) from 330AM to 11AM (monday-Sat) or 12 (on Sundays). The owner sells you a lock and safe to place your valuables, but never tells you that you actually cannot access them unless reception is open. We waited at the local starbucks (needed the wifi) for 3 full hours until we could get into reception for our cameras. Thank God we figured this out before our early flight the next day.
hotel doesn't exist until the restaurant abracadabra opens - which by the way looks like a brothel inside dirty, run down, beds piled on top of each other No booking reservation received so we had to bunk in a mixed dorm shower room - no doors - dirty cubicles Hairs, dirt, mould everywhere Staff - attitude problems 2 people had issues having their laptops/tablets returned to them by the hostel staff I pretty much spooned my luggage for the one night, hardly slept and left at 6am
Excelent location. Staff members were kind
Any entertainment option for guests. Noisy on weekends. Restrooms in bad conditions.
Bath not comfortable.
- Location is the best
- Very uncomfy bed - Too many beds in a small room - Need to pay for towel, locker, ... - Cant stay in this hostle for long
I loved the location and the fact that i had clean huuuge bed in separate part of room. Had a lot of space in it, and even had a chair and mirror :D Bathroom just outside and female only showers just one floor away.
The fact that i had to leave so quick ;)
The beds are very nice but the overall feeling is so so.
They also close early which i dont like. No entry after 3am
Location is good
Spirals from mattress in my back Squeeky/noisy beds Hardly any water coming out of shower No wifi in rooms Reception closed till 11:00/12:00 (meaning I could not take my valuables when I wanted to leave) Pay GBP 5,- extra for 3 hours of luggage storage The only thing that makes this hostel interesting is central location - but for me, it really does not compensate for everything else (and I'm generally really not too fussy).
Nothing , this is a lie about 4 stars ? looks like aprision? Feels lke a prison and o will feel like a inmate
The roms had up to 30 or more beds, all of them , this is a reap-off, what out for your belongins, there are broken toilets ; they never change sheet in their beds, you can hear music all nigth long, there are no refunds,
real center location between Picadilly and Green Park. bedrooms were at 3rd floor. my bedroom had 2 windows - street-view. TESCO in 2 minutes wolking, church is across the street, cafe with wifi at -1 floor, night disco at -2 floor. good hairdryer in a shower
office is closed at night and in morning (3 am - 10 am), so in a moning there are no options to get the storage downstares (at office in the basement) and wifi. one of three showers was broken. water in a shower was just enough (not a lot). towel is 3 pounds, but there are no options to make it dry
The staff receiving me &at the door were excellent.
However, the next day,the staff(Asian)was rude and wanted me to stop using the internet&leave at 2.15am.The close time advised to me was 3.30am. Also, one of the guests in the room was complaining the whole night that someone was snoring.Since, this is a dorm,he should put up with it or leave!Include this as part of your conditions. It is not right to intrude in people's sleeping habits
It was creepy, dark, with red flourescent lights and very serious and rather mean people. I wouldn't recommend it. There others for same price and muuuuch better service.
Cheap & central
It is a womens only hostel but I didn't like the glass shower doors; you still need your privacy. I didn't realise the "6 bed" room was actually 6 bunk beds so twice the women crammed into the room.
The location was excellent , and the staff were lovely!
The beds were uncomfortable, showers were ridiculous and terrible all round! The reception didn't open till late, making it extremely hard to use the wifi available! The amount of power points in each room was terrible, the one next to my bed had been ripped off the wall and was unusable making it inconvenient every day having to sit and charge devices in the reception when it opened.
The ease of access to public transportation and the location of the place.
The crammed bathroom space and lack of working locker facilities and wifi in the room.
The location was good, close to the tubes and shops.
Showers and toilets disgusting, very stupid checking checkout rules, smelt of feet and was filthy in the common areas and rooms, whole hostel was very unpleasant to stay in for us. Would not stay again.
