Over the years whenever I've travelled up to the Manchester area I've always stayed at the Statham Lodge as the staff are very friendy and the food is good. The sitting area in the bar is very relaxing and find it warm and inviting.

I stayed here as it was my daughter's wedding day, civil ceramony, wedding breakfast and party. Everyone was so helpful and friendly, and the food was excellent. Not only on the day but the next morning also. Breakfast was superb, and no one was trying to rush you to check out. The hotel itself is in a beautiful country setting with wonderful grounds to walk in. The rooms are very comfy and spacious. Although being close to the m6 Thelwall Viaduct, you can only hear the traffic while in the grounds, and even then it's not overly noisey. I would recomend staying here to anyone, but not to book directly with the hotel as their room rates are considerably higher.

Hi I booked 2 rooms, one for my parents, which was excellent and another for myself and my wife, which was poor. The main comments I would make are that there were not enough staff on Sunday morning for breakfast. The hotel knew it was fully booked and should have made provision for this amount of people. Addationally the set up in the breakfast room was such that people waiting to be seated were in the same place as the guests trying to serve themselves breakfast and was difficult for everyone. I suggest that this layout is changed. The staff at breakfast were great and did there best, but there was just not enough of them JvB

We booked the Shelley room for our Golden Wedding celebration dinner and was pleased that all 19 guest could be seated around one oval table. The food was excellent and they even provided a customised menu for us, the staff were very efficent and did a very good job pouring the wine. We would like to go again and our friends are looking to book in for a birthday party. We have already booked for Christmas lunch. We can't really complain except some of the older people found the stairs a little steep, but to be fair we were offered room on the ground floor.

The setting was excellent and the staff were friendly Unfortunately the mattress was very hard and uncomfortable. For the size off the room a 5 ft bed would have been more appropriate. In my opinion comfort and getting a good nights sleep is what makes good stay in a hotel. I was disappointed and believe return visits will suffer for this reason.

(Too) convenient for motorways in vicinity, but very handy for meetings in locality. Food was excellent, the breakfast kept me going all day! noise from motorway was unexpected, and whilst I appreciate management of bed linen, the matress protector was uncomfortable.

We went to this venue for my Sons wedding. Nice venue, area, staff pleasant and helpful, Wedding organisation was excellent Given room14 this room was very noisy, every 45 mins throughout the night a loud engine type noise filled the room and lasted for about 5-8 mins on each occasion making any chance of getting any sleep impossible, we had booked this room to allow us to be fresh and rested for my sons wedding the following day which was held at the hotel. The wedding went very smoothly but was totally ruined for me and I had to leave before the evening event because of fatigue

Hotel was clean and tidy. The hotel is and has undergone a refurbishment program. It is obviously popular with locals as they go there for meals. Overhead some people say that they liked the new furniture in the bar. The bar was a deceptively large room with a lovely welcoming fire on at the end of the room. The bar menu was a little limited but still offered plenty of choice. There is a separate restaurant for those wanting a more formal dinner. I was impressed at breakfast, when my colleage, who had stayed an additional night before, was offered a jug of soya milk. This was obviously remembered from the morning before. As previously mentioned the hotel is undergoing a refurbishment program. I did not appreciate the fact that at 8.30 am the room either next door or above me had builders in who were banging the walls and using a large drill. When I called the reception they said that it was 8.30 am after all..... I did state that they did not mention it anywhere that they had builders and that there was a possibility that they would start work at a certain time. I also stated that as I had to vacate the room at 11.00 am that this should have been the start time of the builders if not forwarned beforehand. The hotel is near Manchester Airport and I could have arrived early in the morning and hence actually want a sleep in. I got an apology for the noise and had to ask that they stopped the builders working until I vacated my room at 9.00 am.

Ideal place to get away for quiet night great hotel would not think you were so close to busy town tranquil settings made the stay worth while On a more down note the dinner dance price was very expensive and as a ressidant felt once paying for my room the price for the dance was out of my league I would suggest one the night of the dance may be charge bit more for the room and stay and reduce the dinner dance prices for ressidents it may fill the hotel completely for the night or weekend whenever they take place Other wise I found the hotel totall great

Statham lodge gives a feeling of being in the open countryside but is very handy for Lymm centre; the Motorway; and very convenient for visiting relations. The double duvet could have been a little wider and longer.
