Hotel had a lovely homely feeling Room was nice and bathroom modern Food was amazing Bed was comfy Room was supplied with ample amount of tea, coffee and hot chocolate Staff were very friendly and welcoming
Central heating ducting outside of hotel window was loud and woke me up at 7am.
all of the above. great location for exploring the borders.
Nice, modern and clean room. Good breakfast, great location.
Room was perhaps a bit small for what it cost. No obvious parking anywhere directly nearby, but it's a small town it wasn't more than a couple of mins walk.
Excellent large room which had recently been modernised, with a large modern bathroom
staff extremely polite and helpful
Spent 2 nights here as part of a walking trip to the Borders. Excellent, very good value, family run place. The staff could not be nicer. The rooms are modern, spotlessly clean and well-equipped. And the food (we had breakfast and dinner) went down a treat. My dog particularly enjoyed the scrambled egg. Would not hesitate to use it again. Highly recommended.
Wi-Fi a wee bit erratic but it was a detail.
Everything. Especially food and service.
Location staff accomadation
How well the staff looked after us. And the food! If you want to feel cossetted then this is the hotel for you! Nothing was too much trouble.
Parking round about is a bit difficult till you know the area.
Comfortable, well located and friendly hotel. It provided exactly what we wanted for our trip.
This is nitpicking really, but a residents lounge area would be good. The breakfast itself was excellent but the choice was limited.
Excellent location. Staff were friendly and helpful. Lovely, well cooked breakfast. Room was clean with good facilities.
The bed was hard and uncomfortable. It had plastic backed mattress topper which really didn't add to the level of comfort. I found it quite hard to sleep.
A pleasant, clean and tidy hotel that offers basic facilities, ideal for a short/ business stay
Rooms are well finished, though simple. Good bathroom. Excellent breakfast.
Room was a little cramped for two
Central location in Melrose, friendly staff, good mattresses, flexible breakfast times
Inconsistency in quality of breakfast items
Lovely, helpful staff. Nice big room.
The shower was awful. It was nothing more than a dribble.
Modern, tastefully decorated and clean
No fruit for breakfast, few options for vegetarians.
Service was good as was the food
Room windows opened but you could not see out as the glass was blackened This is suppose to be a hotel not a hospital where you are asked for your choice of breakfast the night before Room was cramped
The speed the owner deals with you especially serving meals . Hasn't slowed up in the last year. Super variety of dishes and drink.
We didn't sell all the sheep at the Kelso Ram sales but that wasn't anything to do with the hotel.
Friendly staff, great location, and pleasant room.
the quiet and quaintness.
television too small and not in a good viewing position.
Location in centre of Melrose couldnt be bettered and lack of car park not real problem. Good breakfast with excellent creamy porridge. Good choice of reasonable evening meals. Small comfortable and quiet hotel with just five bedrooms
Bedroom did not have window view as at the rear of Inn and overlooking flat roof and stone walls. Bedroom a little small although bathroom good size
Great hotel the place is clean facilities excellent. The food is very good and reasonably priced. What made it though was the fantastic staff who were friendly and went out there way to help you. 10/10
Didn't have a bath in the room but was a minor gripe. Shower was fine.
Nice place, comfortable triple bedroom. Very nice and equipped for dinner and breakfast for celiac people
Difficult to set the water temperature in the shower; bathroom floor quite slippery
