Station Hotel And Restaurant  

I will stay at the Station Hotel whenever I am working in the area.

Small and friendly hotel, nice getaway. Good breakfast. Good access to Borders.

Breakfast only available for one hour. No bath in room. Bed only double rather than king size. Credit card used for booking debited for stay before check out or if asked if wanted to use same card. Minor quibbles though.

Good location. Room clean and bright. Breakfast very good.Staff helpful.

Room okay size. Neutral decor

Staff not helpful. Breakfast served between 8 and 9 am only on a Saturday, and still you had to book actual time required together with items required for breakfast the night before.(Items were still not was ordered) The manageress told my husband late at night whilst smoking outside that "There was a problem with the card, but she didn't want to embarrass us earlier". As we had not even attempted to pay at that stage, and there was no issue with the transaction, this was incorrect, yet worried me throughout the night incase there was any card fraud. The hotel was dirty, accumulated dirt on dado rails, carpets tired. The shower which looked impressive offered a bare trickle of alternating scalding and cold water The atmosphere was unwelcoming and gave the impression that guests were tolerated

We were very comfortable at this hotel, the staff were friendly and accommodating, altogether a very relaxed experience. The standard of the "shower rooms" were first class.

The only complaint was the breakfast,although adequate , I felt the one sausage one bit bacon etc seemed a bit stingy. Although overall the breakfast was very nice plenty bread, toast, tea etc. just the cooked variety it seemed to be one of everything.

Friedly and helpful staff; Warm and comfortable, Room was spacious, clean, and well-equipped, with excellent en-suite bathroom.

Food was good, but evening meals lacking in choice or presentation. Worst feature of this hotel, whose clients all arrive by road, was its location on a tight corner with no parking facilities or safe un- loading bay

The Hotel was a lovely place to stay. The twin room we had was very clean and spacious, and the en-suite was spotless. The breakfast was very nice and the staff were friendly.

The only things were - there was a plug in air freshner, which although smelt very nice, they make me cough! So although I unplugged it - the smell was there all night. Also the pillows were quite hard - wish I'd taken my own!

No private parking but on street parking available across the road.

Very friendly staff, I stayed in one of the smaller rooms but it was perfectly adequate for what I needed, with a very large bathroom, lovely shower and comfy bed. I'm missing the cooked breakfasts already, they were lovely.

The room was clean and very comfortable. We stayed two nights.

It was a very pleasent experience comfortable the staff were excellent will go back without hesitation
