Breakfast was really poor.tea or coffee were both awful...the door of the wardrobe fell off trying to open it. it is an establishment looks and feels tired and jaded.

We stayed on a Saturday night and the bar had loud music on until midnight, after that we had a few drunk guests staggering around the corridor. If you can sleep through anything or you are going for a night out, then that would be fine, but if not, then perhaps this hotel isn't for you on a Friday/Saturday night.
Great location, clean, friendly staff, nice breakfast. All the basics met. I would stay again (in midweek).

The room was a bit dark and hot during our stay.i guess it's must have been the decor of the room, would have love a bit of light in.
Big family room with TV which is a plus and nice big clean bathroom.

All the way up the stairs to the room every step creaked as you can expect with a dated property. Inside the room half the lights weren't working, the toilet seat was half off, and annoyingly as i opened the cupboard to hang my coat, the door came off in my hand! To make things worse i grazed myself on a spring sticking out of the side of one of the beds. I didnt see it as it had been covered with the sheets. A LOT of wear and tear which needs to be repaired.
The beds were very comfortable and the blankets were cosy. I especially liked the throws on each of the beds. They room was clean and tidy and the temperature was also very nice and warm, not too hot or cold.

It was a bit noisy being right next to the stairs with people coming home in the early hours of the morning.
Location was excellent right by the train and coach station and close to the city centre bars and restaurants. Breakfast was also very nice and excellent value for money.

I wasn't too keen on the whole place really. Having spent years living on Royal Navy warships i was hoping for something a little more upmarket than vessels long since scrapped.
I liked the way that the unholy din of the local chavs trying to sing along to Tom Jones coming from the bar downstairs drowned out the noise of the passing trains and emergency vehicles. I liked the way that the towels reaked of harpic so I knew that they had been bleached. I liked the way that, despite the heating being turned off, it was still hotter than Chernobyls Reactor 4. I liked the holes in the carpet and the furniture, it added character. I liked the way that the beer chiller unit was placed directly outside the window to my room, it reminded me that someone was having a good time. I liked the way the toilet in room 11 had it's flushing handle cut in half so the systern would fit in the gap in the wall. I also liked the way that anyone over 5 feet tall and weighing less than 80 lbs would not be able to fit in said commode due to the installation of the hairdryer (I dread to think how many times the nozzle to that has been plunged into the watery abyss of the lavatory) and the washbasin. I liked the decor of the bathroom, especially the faded white paint on the back of the bathroom door which had turned what I imagine Dulux would market as 'smokers fingernails'. It pleased me that we afford the dead more room and comfort.
