Staff - Steve the manager is very helpful and friendly. An Asset to the hotel.
The location of the hotel is good in terms of walking around Gloucester.
Facilities are poor. Our shower didn't work and the room smelled. The price was okay but not worth the service you get. I wouldn't recommend it beyond one night.
The location is excellent, and the food in the bar and breakfast very tasty. Great value for money too for those on a budget!
Check-out time at 10 am is very early when you're on holidays!
everything about the hotel was perfect
The room was fine.
We arrived on a Sunday afternoon, had a drink outside and had to leave as a fight broke out with a few women who had been in the pub. Very dodgy clientelle in the pub.
Great location adjacent to rail and bus stations
Shower didn't work 10am checkout
Very clean and good location. I really liked the place
Loved the location, and the beds were comfy, price was cheap but no breakfast had to purchase seperately
There was no wardrobe in the room I had, the bin had not been emptied from the previous guest, the chest of drawers were falling apart. and the door to the shower would not open fully. Plus the price of the drinks was quite dear, this not a 4 star hotel so don't expect to be paying 4 star prices.
Excellent location if you want to use buses or trains. Breakfast served promptly, from 7.30. Excellent value for money.
Single room a bit small with no chair but adequate.
Air conditioning would be useful in the summer heat.
Weekend was fabulous. Landlord and Landlady were really welcoming. Lively atmosphere, great live acts. Friendly people. Fan in the room was a bonus.
Nothing really to dislike, just a couple of niggles. Bar staff wondered off on a few occasions so we had to wait a while to get served. Could have done with a shelf in the bathroom to put bits and bobs on. On the info given it stated satellite TV was in the room, but just Freeview
Comfortable stay , ideal position for town & shops , good evening entertainment .
Breakfast wasn't the best
Friendly staff, very good breakfast, clean & with parking in parking garage opposite
Not so convenient for food if arriving late as there is not much near here and what there is closes early on a Saturday night. Everything is a little shabby.
Nice relaxed attitude to breakfast
Phoned manager in advance to arrange to have a extra bed in a family room to arrive on the day and have a stand up row with the manager to get what we booked!
Staff were lovely and friendly. Only car park is NCP but you get a discount when staying at hotel. Food was good - you need to try the Full English!
Located right on ring road so was noisy at night. Coffee stain on carpet. Towels weren't big enough - it barely covered me.
I loved that this place was so close to the station, and not far at all from the city centre! Most of the staff I spoke with were great, and the cleaners did a very good job each day. I'd recommend staying for a short time only, especially if access to public transport is a priority
When I first arrived the staff who checked me in seemed quite disinterested. This place is in it's first right, a pub and second a hotel- and I think it's something you need to keep in mind when booking here. While the location is great, being so central and on a main road means it can be loud at night, even from my room on the top floor. The process of getting food in the evening wasnt very easy, and it's closed on Sunday night which I hasnt realised until I walked downstairs for dinner.
Location was excellent
parking was in NCP car park over the road
Staff, extremely helpful and friendly. Location, excellent for rail travellers.
Cleanliness, room was dirty and remained uncleaned for the 4 days I was there. No lift or help available to carry luggage up narrow stairway.
Clean and good facilities
Volume from karaoke early on but did not turn out to be an issue.
Cheap- £37 single room. Good location, clean enough
Creaky cheap bed, no food offered on Saturdays! Had to buy a sandwich from Tesco instead
great location to train/bus stations , all amenities and to the Cathedral.........super staff in the breakfast room, helpful and efficient and very friendly and professional...the young boy(a family member of the owner?) was a gem! He was courteous and helpful, chatty and sweet! Willing to help in any way.
key system does not work for two or three adults going off in different directions in the city for sight-seeing and/or business. If one does have to attend a separate function the other is left with no electricity in the room or having to wait, or staying out until some rendezvous time....not a good system! There could be a fan or two in the room for hot days, and items in rooms- that are broken-SHOULD be mended prior to guest's stay.....like wardrobe doors, towel racks and showers.....
i liked the whole place, it made me and my friends feel at home. the people at the hotel was very polite. me and my friends will defiantly go back again.
Clean rooms, well maintained. Discount parking. Wi fi.
Understaffed. One person running the pub and greeting guests meant that she didn't have time to tell us the breakfast times (though this was included in the room info) no food available Monday nights and staff run off her feet so unable to give advice on nearest place to go. Noisy location. Didn't feel welcome.
Good location and helpful staff.
,couldn't sleep because of road noise, or close window because of heat and the fan made the noise worse.
