The lounge bar food menu was really good, and the food itself was presented well and tasted better. Pleasantly surprised. Young lady in bar was very helpful and polite. Good car park.
Bed was tiny, pillows were poor and hard. Room was very tired looking and dated. Very noisy by Maine road, as old windows Shower was too low and the cubicle itself was DISGUSTING black fungi and mold in the silicone. Gross
Overall room was generally clean, ample size with desk area for working although wi-fi was intermittent. Not sure about some peoples noise complaints, I arrived around 7pm and already there was hardly any traffic on the road outside and I got to sleep later with no problem. Granted in the morning once I woke up at around 6.45 it would have been difficult to get back into a deep sleep but I guess most business travellers like me would be up and about early anyway. Wouldn't recommend it for a family getaway but absolutely fine for a business traveller stopping over before heading to a meeting etc. as I was. Staff very friendly on check in and in the (albeit virtually empty!) bar. Powerful and very hot shower. Complimentary toiletries and the obligatory tea, coffee and biscuits all provided.
The hotel itself was a little dated and tired, certainly not 'dirty' but not modern plush...if you just want to get your head down in a bed then it's no problem though. Only thing I found dirty was the extractor fan in the room that had a layer of dust over the entrance to the fan, get this cleared guys it's not nice to see when you're stood in the shower!
STATION HOTEL HAD CHARACTER, LOVELY STAIRCASE, ROOM GOOD ,PLENTY OF HOT WATER.
Staff very welcoming, and friendly
Situated by door,bit noisy
Right next to the Black Country Living Museum, which is excellent, and the reason for our stay
Staff help in every way
Staff were fantastic. Room was large, warm and comfy with everything that was needed. Check in / out was a breeze. Breakfast was plentiful, freshly cooked and a good selection. Plenty of parking space.
We were at the front of the hotel, we had a good nights sleep, but perhaps secondary glazing could be considered when they do a re fit due to traffic noise in the morning.
staff are excellent friendly and helpfull
food was below par
Staff v helpful and frendle food good not over priced.
The location and the fact that room was quiet (I did request a quiet room).
The positioning of TV in the room - just behind the bathroom door, not so convenient.
Good position, good value, old railway station hotel
These old hotels are architectural jewels left to rot. My main complaint is with the older hotels is ALWAYS the bathroom. Why not upgrade it so it can be kept clean and healthy. The bathroom here has black mold growing in the corners in the dated shower and just looked dirty and unhealthy. SHAME!
sheets were clean and pillow cases were soft
the curtains didnt close at the side's walkers by could see into the room wifi didnt work in the room you had to go sit in the bathroom for it to work
Old fashion designed hotel was really nice. The breakfast which is included was also nice. Personnel were quite kind and smiling all the time.
Wi-fi doesnot work when you go out of its connection range.
Good location for winter ale festival and shops. Really dog friendly our Stan loves staying here. Parking is free and no problems getting a space.
Traffic noise all night is bad, especially in a room near the traffic lights/corner. Building is old and windows not double glazed so cold wind blows in along with the noise.
It was close to the town so we could walk
Shower was little more than a trickle of water and could not control the temperature
Pleasant staff Breakfast Bar and restaurant
A bit aged
The friendly atmosphere, the olde worldly feeling. Not over the top grand, but nice and homely, will definitely stay again and bring the rest of the family.
Too many stairs for my gran, cos she'd love it.
Excellent staff, very friendly and helpful. The room was a large size with interesting décor.
Such a lovely room (102), High ceiling, bay window, a bathroom bigger than my living room !.
A bit too warm for me (until I realised the windows would open).
Excellent food. Good staff.
Wifi Could not log on
The staff very sharp and not interested. The worst two things where the noise of other people and the bed was very uncomfortable, and after I had what I can only say was bites. I would not stay again. Sorry
what can i say it just ticked the boxes for what we expected
TV at Foot of bed.
