This former 19th-century schoolhouse has been converted into a comfortable hotel with a friendly atmosphere. Himley Hotel is located on the Shropshire border, on the edge of Dudley.

Parking and access to main roads
Broken items in bathroom. Poor wi-fi signal
WE TRAVELLED WITH PET DOGS AND LIKED THAT THE HOTEL WAS MOST WELCOMING OF THE PETS AS WELL.
The staff were helpful and it was clean and tidy.
Very noisy as no secondary glazing. The mattress could have been better and not such heavy bedding. Breakfast great value for money but sausage quality very poor need to be a bit more meaty.
Location and price were good
Warning about Wifi security didn't use it.
I stopped in room 215 . to be honest the room stank mabe drains but reminded me of old peoples home . All night long you can here the drain cover outside as cars drive over it not good
- Excellent staff, they're helpful & welcoming - Fantastic atmosphere with good value for money - Good location for a day out with the zoo & castle across the road - Room had plenty of space and was well kept
- It can get a little noisy during the night time depending on which room you're in - The T.V was in need of replacement
The food overall was excellent. Our Room was nice, clean, cosey and comfortable. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was lovely. Hotel was awesome. Can't wait to go back.
The only disappointment was that we had to eat our meal in the bar area whilst there was two functions in both of the main rooms. We felt a little uncomfortable as there were a lot of children running around us, also people were stood drinking at the bar. I personally like to relax whilst eating but understand that this couldn't be helped. I just expected to eat my meal in the same room as breakfast. If we hadn't have already payed for food with our booking then we would not have eaten dinner there on that night.
The staff were all very helpful.
The Station Hotel is nowhere near the Station! It was a very l o n g walk.
The staff were fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble, and they were friendly and helpful. However, when the fire alarm went off at 5am, they also showed that they are calm in a crisis, and able to command the authority needed to keep people safe while the fire brigade did their thing.
The fact the fire alarm went off at 5am. The place has a charm about it, so even though everything is rather basic and rather lacking compared to modern hotels, there is so much character that it's hard to say a bad thing about the place.
Nice comfortable large rooms.nice bar offering a good menu, which was lovely.
Breakfast not served until after 8am, so didn't get to give it a try.
Quality of food and limited, items not available on menu. All rooms seem to overlook a busy road, that never stops especially the boy racers with whoofer exhausts.
free parking breakfast was good
bed was lumpy the matteress had springs sticking up window rattled all night as traffic went by not enough milk,t-bags,sugar kettle was fiflthy inside and out room was dirty and bed linen looked like it wasnt changed.
Cosy intimate hotel with old world charm. Staff were friendly without being overbearing. Good access to local attractions and transport. Busses stop at hotel and bus station in next street.
Traffic outside was loud but street was almost empty between midnight and first busses at 6 am weekdays. Double glazing would sort it out. Didn't get to meet the Ghost ;-(
Good staff and very clean and welcoming very peaceful during the day
Bar not open till 6pm traveled along way to book in at 2pm thirsty and hungry Wifi wasnt the greatest party downstairs was very loud in room so went and sat in bar
Staff attitude and friendliness also sensibly priced food which was good quality and we'll presented. Water was hot and good pressure to shower. Bed was clean.
TV had very poor signal. Wifi showed unsafe connection so didn't use it.
Very comfortable room, double bed and a single bed...There was a nice selection of food in the morning..... Overall a nice pleasant stay
The only let down was the building... Needs a lot of repair work...
The original lift. Lounge bar. Old fashioned feel of a time gone by, of the hotel. Location.
Lack of breakfast options. Limp fruit. Would have liked to have helped myself to drinks, rather than having to find a member of staff to replenish drinks. Sausages tasted very cheap, with bones in them! All in all, an adequate breakfast.
the look of the place
Friendliness of staff
No ghost in my room (214)!!!
Standard of Bedroom Quality and standard of cooking the food. It was beyond criticism.
Worn carpets. State of deteriorating paintwork outside. Rubbish and cigarette ends outside the hotel doors etc. Too many advertising signs outside making the hotel look like a 'dosshouse'.
Fantastic disabled room, staff very helpful and friendly. Meals very good.
Décor looking a bit dated.
Very friendly staff. Bed was fresh, spotless and very comfortable. breakfast was very nice/tasty. Evening meal; starters and puddings lovey
it is an old building so in need of a little TLC; the room I stayed in; the bathroom needed replacing. in another room which friends stayed; the bathroom was a little more updated than mine. the main evening meal; not up to much (parsnips required a little longer-perhaps the chef could roast them?) but the breakfast was lovely.
