Female tourist, felt extremely safe at this hotel, staff very helpful and friendly.
Staff very good
Very tired needs a complete refurbishment
It was a nice room and a good breakfast. The location was easy to find and convenient for the town centre.
Good breakfast Friendly
Needs a good clean and modernising.
Cheap Friendly staff Good cooked breakfast Good location
Tired and in need if renovation Very basic provisions ..e.g soap but no shampoo Heating on all the time
Nicely situated near the Train Station. Excellent breakfast.
Relaxed atmosphere Position in Hexham
The rooms are medium small and sensible; reading light and hot water worked; staff amiable and lively, and the food is very good -- a small group of strangers enjoyed it so much that we fell into an evening's conversation over it.
The staff at this hotel/pub are very helpful and so friendly, they made us so welcome as if we where part of their family. Breakfast was very filling and so much too eat set you up for the day. Great for the kids if they are older and can manage stairs. very central to all the amenities. will be going back.
Music was a bit noisy on the Saturday night but it is a pub and these thing happen.
The staff were lovely and very helpful, the building was cosy. It was clean very comfortable, lovely reasonably priced meal and drinks in the evening, and a good selection of continental and fry up breakfast included in the price of stay.
If you're looking for fresh modern decor and brand new furniture, you'll be disappointed, but no complaints from us! Lovely cosy old building and great prices.
Not a lot except location
Very disappointed - expected better from the reviews before we went. Bathroom shocking - toilet seat hanging off! Pillow cases clean but pillows very badly soiled. Felt very uncomfortable as a result slept badly
The Station Inn is quite simple but very friendly and excellent value for money!
very nice staff
Friendly staff good breakfast Beds comfortable
Looks run down inside and outside, makeshift and tasteless and I found it depressing. A throw back to the sixties; I thought there weren't any hotels like this any more. On busy road with only a few places to park (except in public car park 200m away).
had a brilliant night at the station inn.i was only there to meet friends the next day, usually i buy some crisps and spend the night infront of the tv, this time i spent it downstairs having a good chat over a few pints. if you like a chat or if you like your privacy, this is good for both. breakfast was also nice. good smokey bacon.
We arrived from Bristol for a family wedding and got a taxi to the Station Hotel , I e mailed when I booked as check in wasnt untill midday , a few minutes later I recieved a phonecall reassuring me that we could check in early and if our room wasnt ready they would give us another to get ready, the room was immaculatley clean and fine for what we needed, the breakfast was delicious ( part of the reason I booked was because I used to live in Hexham and love the food here! ) all staff friendly and go out of their way to help.
The 7.30 sunday morning wake up call from the workmen digging up the road outside !! ( obviously no fault of the hotel )
Beds were good Meals good
Shower cubicle poor Ladies toilets no light in one, door would not lock on other Table clothes torn at edges
Friendly staff & as its name implies-very handy for the Rail station & buses
Friendly helpful people Comfortable beds Food was okay
The car park was a 5 minute walk away, and in the rain it was no joke. A typical 2 star hotel in need of some TLC
Staff were friendly especially the morning manager. Location. Would be okay for a group looking for cheap overnight lodgings.
Decor - rough and poorly matches. Stairs - narrow and lots of them. Needless wall outside toilet - why? Cuts down usable space in the room. Lack of storage space Having to use station car park
Location quite good providing you have back view of the Athletics track, front noisy.
Whole facility badly needs some money spent on refurbishment. Bathroom so, so basic, bedside lamps did not work. No hair dryer, no excuse for not having mattress covers which can be bought so cheaply. Reception often empty... likewise at breakfast, sat for ten minutes before any staff appeared!!! Every door dither creaked or did not shut without slamming. No up up to Booking.com standards by any means.
The staff are delightful willing to please. Very convenient for travelling to Hadrian's Wall. Hexham lovely friendly town with wonderful Abbey.
The bed had coiled mattress that was not very comfortable.
