friendliness especially in the morning, close to town, very nice breakfast.
karaoke late into the evening, maybe It was stated somewhere I didn't read, but it did keep me awake till midnight and was canny off key!
The lady who booked us in was very friendly, as was all the staff we talked to. The room was clean, warm, comfortable. We had an evening meal after checking in, the food was excellent and plentiful. The breakfast was also very good. The accommodation is very well placed for Hexham centre.
Saturday night only is karaoke night and it was directly below our room. We already knew this from research beforehand and the lady who booked us in was good enough to warn us. It wasn't really a problem to us but some may be put off if they retire early.
The staff were very helpful and the room was spotless. Breakfast was traditional but well done.
Carpet and decor in the rooms was tired
Food was inexpensive and of high quality for what you paid. Rooms were clean, comfortable and the bathroom was clean. The night we were there the bar had excellent specials on as well, pints were very cheap and a number free shots were given to us all the while singing along to karaoke-was a great atmosphere and a great stay!
Staff were very nice.
The Station smelt foisty and dinnerware were dirty and the cutlery.
Radiator on all night in room so hot all night. charged me more than booking.com rate for double room as originally booked single occupancy, so not impressed as got charged standard rate even though I changed booking on line.
nothing all was very good
The majority of the staff were really friendly. The breakfast was delicious and the chef was really cheerful and he made the breakfast to order. The rooms were comfortable and clean. There is free parking in a big car park behind Station inn, just a few minutes walk. Hexham is a lovely town and the Abby is a must see!
The rooms were really hot. We kept the windows open all the time. We went into the bar at Station Inn at about 9.45pm and the woman on the bar was really rude. She served us a drink but then complained loudly that she needed to get home. We weren't the only ones in there, but at 9.55 she called last orders. She watched us drink our drinks (sighing often!) and then as soon as we had taken the last sip she took our glasses before we could even put them down on the table! She made us feel really unwelcome. Don't let this put you off Station Inn, but don't bother wasting your money in the bar. Go somewhere else. Every other person that we met in Hexham was lovely!
Wonderful, helpful people. And delicious roast for dinner!
Friendly staff. Nice bar. Flexible on booking.
Previous occupant had been sick in the kettle. Shower gave 3rd degree burns. Room was cold. Lack of plug sockets. Stains on carpet.
The lasting memory will be Jim's cooking - wonderful. Also very friendly and helpful.
The hotel does not have it's own car park. There is a space off road across the road, but security is suspect. Best place to park is in the nearby station car park which is lit at night and only 2 pounds for 24 hours!
the food was excellent staff freindly
not much parking
Very friendly staff and great breakfast
Limited car parking
Staff very friendly
decor a little past its best in rooms
staff were great. Locoation excellent.Breakfast fantastic
good position on edge of town. they were able to do me a early breakfast as I had to leave by 7.20am
it was very convienant next to the train station , and the breakfast was pallitable .
badly needing a refurbishment , throughout the whole hotel very old decor .
Easy access to the Abbey area. Great view from our window. Very short walk to the station. Staff always very helpful. A special part of our holiday.
Bed was comfortable, breakfast hot, filling and cooked as requested, friendly staff
Whilst room was clean it needed finishing off, new fire detector wires showing, bathroom door stuck and could not turn off the radiator
long way up stairs
Breakfast was good. Wifi was excellent.
Sick stains on carpet. Door room was insecure. Shower curtain traumatised me. No curtains on the windows and the blinds didn't work properly. Stains on bed sheets. Swearing and bottle breaking after midnight. Badly lit. All round dirty facility.
Location was absolutely spot on - right across the road from Hexham train station. Less than 10 minutes walk into town centre. Bed comfy. Staff very friendly. Lots of real ale pubs in close proximity and only one stop from Haltwhistle and Hadrian's Wall, which was the reason for our stay.
State of the ensuite was a bit tired and dated - who has coral pink anymore? A bit over priced for what it is/was. Vegetarian breakfast on the greasy side.
My room was very basic but perfectly adequate. The staff could not have been more helpful and the breakfast was delicious.
It would have been nice to have some heating in the bathroom.
