The waitress/cleaner on the second day was very unhelpful. When I asked for the toast with my breakfast instead of before, she said she couldn't juggle that much. It would either have to be before or after! Same waitress said I couldn't sit downstairs after breakfast to do my emails as she had to finish cleaning by 12 and couldn't leave the rooms unattended. There was no wifi signal in the bedroom. We could feel the springs of the bed through the mattress and none of the bed linen was ironed. I wouldn't stay there again as it was very poor value for money. I would rate it as only 2 star.
Location was excellent - it's just outside of the normal lakes accommodation area and for that reason you don't pay extortionate prices for average standard. This was clean, comfortable and excellent value for money. Food great and local beers very good.
Very large room with space to place suitcases on the floor. Bath tub plus shower appreciated. Gigantic King size bed and nice TV. Too bad we payed for a breakfast we could not eat as we had to leave early in the morning before breakfast was served.
Bar food was excellent
Room wasn't made up one day.
Greasy breakfast. Bulb gone in bed side light. Wifi didn't operate in bedroom.
The staff were excellent and the breakfast was very good. The rooms were clean and spacious.
The outside of the accommodation block could do with repainting. The downstairs room felt a bit like being in a basement and you could hear the people walking on the floor above you
Small double bed, very hard, lack of proper curtains, smell of chips everywhere ugh
excellent staff,excellent food Hawkshead beer
I liked everything about the Station Inn. The hotel was well maintained and all areas clean. Good selection of food and drink at reasonable prices. Covered outside smoking area. Outside picnic style tables and benches for warm summer evenings. The alpacas were very cute. Our room and bathroom were spacious and comfortable. The staff were always helpful. Good traditional cooked breakfast. Adequate car park. Although the hotel is only about a quarter mile from the Oxenholme railway station, it feels very much a country inn, surrounded by fields and woodland.
Nothing I disliked at all.
The staff and the accommodation were both excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay
Only small and cute!
Everything - very enjoyable stay
Nothing really - ticked all the boxes
lovely surroundings, helpful staff, clean rooms, well cooked breakfast.
being woken at 2AM by a night rally held by local car club, we felt that notices should have been put in each room, so that we could have watched
The room was very comfortable, the food was excellent and the staff very helpful.
The friendly reception immediately put me at ease. Check In at the pub's bar counter is different but with warm friendly staff, it was miles better than many high end hotel receptions that I have been to. Breakfast was great, my room was big. A great B&B if you are arriving late by train and need a good night's sleep instead of having to deal with taxi into Kendal or Windermere.
The steep 500m walk up a hill from Oxenholme Train Station, especially in the rain and with 2 heavy bags. The bed was a little too soft and springy for my liking.
Very near the train station, about 500 metres up the little hill. And the farm with Alpacas hehe
The lady at breakfast had a unhappy look.(Maybe she's racist cos others didn't have the prob)The rooms are full of enormous flies.Noisy beds
Good welcome Good sized room Good food Good breakfast
You could hear those above on first floor walking about a lot
Lovely room, clean and spacious. Pub was inviting and although busy food was superb.
Good food and excellent beer Good room Handy spot to start to explore lakedistrict
The place as a whole was fantastic. Excellent facilities and a very friendly environment. Will definitely stay again and recommend to friends.
The only thing we didn't like is that we had to leave early!
Professional, efficient, helpful staff; good food; clean, comfortable, large rooms; great location. A very welcoming small hotel, well-run. Good value for money. Very convenient for mainline train and access to the Lakes. Will definitely stay again.
A bit of traffic noise if you are beside the road although, in fairness, it's only a country lane
Brilliant for children and the room was very clean.
Room was pretty chilly.
the garden is very nice
price is too much
Very friendly greeting on arrival. Nothing was too much trouble. Ideal location to explore for Kendal. A walk up the Helm highly recommended.
Other guests staying upstairs a little noisy late at night, but only to be expected in an old building!
