Breakfast and staff service
The staff were very friendly, bathroom and bed clean.
Peeling wallpaper, dated decor and also the bath mat slid when you stood on it, making me smack my knee and it's now bruised and sore.
Friendly, spacious atmosphere, loved that big staircase, fell in love with the receptionists, they were all so nice and helpful...!
couldn't open the bedroom window
No plugs in basin so if you shave manually take either your own plug or a shaving bowl. If you require drinks from the bar be prepared for a long wait. Although dinner is supposed to be served in the restaurant from 5pm until 10pm, when we went down for dinner at 5.45pm on the 13th December the restaurant was still in darkness and no staff. We then had to fetch our coats to go and dine out.
The price was great staff fabulous breakfast choice was great cooked breakfast excellent would return again
Thought the hotel was great, no complaints whatsoever and the staff couldn't have been nicer, if you can find anything to moan about then your far too good for me, the hotel, and Perth. go somewhere else.
quite honestly my stay ticked all the right boxes for my overnight requirements with staff very helpful
simply no dislikes
The breakfast was very good and hot. Good size pot of tea with breakfast. Staff very helpful.
The price of the room
Bit cold in room
Booked two rooms for one night as the road north was a bit daunting to tackle in the snow, tired as we were from travelling. The night porter let us in. The bath was most welcome and the room well appointed.
Double bed had only one side table
Friendly staff who covered a number of roles. smiled and friendly throughout
Breakfast was fine
Had 2 room choices both were dirty and old and decore very tired, carpets with threads holes, first room 38 disgrace!!! Big crack in sink, dirty marks on walls, then got room 29 dirty, frozen heating didn't work right, the couch was full of stains, bed was of cheap quality. The staff were rude and said there was no one in charge to speak to.never anyone on desk apart from the girl on the Sunday moring who was nice, the rest of them were more outside smoking. The worst hotel I have stayed in and I have stayed in a lot. Mr Wayne Harkness
Size of room
Shower didn't work wallpaper hanging of in places bathroom very shabby
Great location next to train station. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Value for money.
Needs to be more welcoming, with more staff available and facilities in reception, bar etc. hotel seemed empty and cold.
Room a bit dated
Location.Room was warm
No one on reception when arriving. Had to get staff from restaurant to notify receptionist. Bathroom needs upgrading, mould ingrained around shower
Nothing to like, the staff were pleasant but otherwise it was awful.
As we walked approached the reveolving door we could see it was it was tatty. The lobby was in disrepair, chipped paint everywhere and even up to waist height. The bedroom smelt damp. The pillows were worn away nearly nothing. The matress was so uncomfortable. A poor night's sleep. Carpets dirty. Mould on bathroom tiles. The whole place looked run down and neglected.
Food was poor
Warm and comfortable, plenty of hot water. Spotlessly clean. Friendly staff and very easy to get to by train, bus or on foot from city centre but still a quiet location.
The reception area is a bit anonymous and I think they should include a continental breakfast, only make the full Scottish optional.
The bedroom was very suitable as a family - spacious and clean
The initial greeting wasn't great. Felt I was almost told off for not ringing the night bell to get in - we never had the chance! Had to ask in the morning what the breakfast arrangements were. When selecting breakfast items I was asked if I just wanted full scottish. I didn't as stuff would've just been wasted. Only to be told the chef doesn't speak english so it would be easier! 1-that's noy my problem whilst in this country 2-the waitress's english was fine, as I'm sure their shared native tongue was! Breakfast settings wtc. were very disorganised-staff evidently stressed
Room to dated. Bottle of water £6
Clean and fresh with the little touches
They didn't have a toilet brush for those embrassing toilet moments
Decor dated . Paintings cheap looking.
Great location, great character of this old building. Warm, comfortable and most of all peaceful. We had two great nights there undisturbed. The train station is a short walk away and the town centre just 10 minutes away. It was certainly worth the few pounds extra to stay here and if I ever return to Stirling I would happily stay at this hotel again.
The toilet wouldn't flush properly was the only fault I could find with my room. This was reported to the hotel staff.
