Score from 165 reviews Wonderful
Cleanliness, unhelpful staff, hair found under pillow and bottle top and stake biscuits found behind bed in the room. Cracked tiles in the bathroom. Also thick with dust
Good location to train station, nice hotel. Decent value for money.
bed was hard, looked old and unclean.
The staff were very friendly even though they were run off there feet trying to do more than one job at a time. Room was nice was only short walk to shops.
Yes we had a bad experience the room was freezing and had to ask for extra heaters to be put in room. resulting in myself being unwell when l retuned home so would not recommend this hotel to anyone l know
Basic room needs some updating
The staff were cooperative assisting where possible with our main complaint.
We were unlucky in spending three of the coldest January days which meant our reliance. The heating was inadequate with extremely cold bedrooms and public areas and one of the additional heaters offered being out of order didn't help.
Friendly Staff Good Location
Not enough staff serving at bar Menu bit restrictive Rooms and Hotel cold Rooms in need of upgrading
Liked the location. Handy for the railway station.
Could be doing with a new bed. Very uncomfortable.
The price was right and the location was good.
The heat did not work very well and the mattress was too soft.
Close to railway station Friendly staff Good breakfast
Another Highland hotel past its prime
Friendly, efficient staff. Handy to town and activities
Location was great, parking easy and a nice welcome.
Nothing to dislike
Location and historic aspects were excellent, lovely hotel.
Squeaky bed, heating not great found it a bit cold, squeaky bed
It is close to town.
Though hotel was nearly empty we were allocated a room that looked onto a wall the rooms are cold and dated very run down hotel will not be back.
The room was freezing cold at this time of the year thermostats have to be turned up temperatures plummeted when we were there a big minus for the hotel
the comfort and location
Room was cold and duvet was too small for the bed. Our first stay was better.
It was a bit old fashioned but was really fine.
Room was spacious, parking was free.
Very tired & dated decor. Whole place smelled of chips when I entered reception. Needs TLC.
Most of it
everything the room the staff and food
Breakfast and staff service
The staff were very friendly, bathroom and bed clean.
Peeling wallpaper, dated decor and also the bath mat slid when you stood on it, making me smack my knee and it's now bruised and sore.
Friendly, spacious atmosphere, loved that big staircase, fell in love with the receptionists, they were all so nice and helpful...!
couldn't open the bedroom window
No plugs in basin so if you shave manually take either your own plug or a shaving bowl. If you require drinks from the bar be prepared for a long wait. Although dinner is supposed to be served in the restaurant from 5pm until 10pm, when we went down for dinner at 5.45pm on the 13th December the restaurant was still in darkness and no staff. We then had to fetch our coats to go and dine out.
The price was great staff fabulous breakfast choice was great cooked breakfast excellent would return again
