Easy, nice place to stay friendly staff and unusual pie based evening menu, fresh cooked breakfast also excellent. Although spotlessly clean, shower curtain was very 'clingy' (very minor point in an otherwise really nice stopover).

lovely friendly and efficient staff. the room was freshly refurbished and cosy. breakfast was freshly cooked and really nice, we did not need lunch that day!! Noisy outside on Saturday night due to locals round town but this is not hotel's fault and would be fine in the week.

This is a small hotel right opposite the station in Shrewsbury. My train was due to arrive at 9:30pm, but was delayed. I advised the hotel that I was going to be late, and they stayed specially to let me check in. I suspect that they make most of their money in the bistro and bar. The room was clean. Space was adequate (single room), In the morning the owner arrived early to cook me breakfast specially for me. There is quite a lot of traffic noise in the morning.

I chose it for the location, which was just as described - right opposite the station. It's a notably clean and well appointed hotel with welcoming and helpful staff. A good experience from start to finish.

I wanted something close to the train station. This is about five seconds away, right across the street. And the cost was quite reasonable. I had requested a quiet room but got one directly on the very busy street between the hotel and station. My room was on the top floor, two flights up, with no elevator.

The manager couldn't have been more friendly and helpful, from taking my case up the stairs for me (I've a heart problem) to giving maps, tourist advice, etc. The food in the bar was a good price and plentiful. Lots of hot water, an excellent shower and a warm and comfortable room. Great value for money.
