Located close to the centre of the small town of Thurso, this is an excellent base for exploring the North Coast.

The Park Hotel - Where the atmosphere & surroundings are as welcoming as the food. Why not go all the way! To Caithness, the land beyond the Highlands and enjoy the hospitality at the Park Hotel.
Score from 88 reviews Very good
Older small hotel in very good condition, well located. Just there a night on our way to Orkney.
early breakfast, fitting in with Orkney Ferry Times.
This is a hotel in the business of providing accommodation to travellers and this is done efficiently but it lacks the friendly touch.
the hotel, the staff, the food, the accommodation
cant fault anything
Studio room ideal for dog owners, spacious and well equipped. Access straight from the car park.
Breakfasts were poor, pre cooked food dried out before it got to the table. Didn't risk an evening meal as a result!
Owner on reception was very welcoming, as was lady who booked us a taxi to go to Scrabster. Chalet room very comfortable, well-equipped room and bathroom.
Young staff at breakfast were a bit inexperienced. Breakfast only until 9 a.m. (although info in room said 9.30 a.m.) - a bit early for people on holiday!
Close to the scrabster ferry terminal, friendly staff, children welcome, quick breakfast and delicious too.
The noisy family of birds that didn't sleep and appeared to be nesting outside our window!
Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast. On site parking.
Room and furnishings were threadbare.
We had a Chalet room with parking right outside, the room had a separate sitting area so we could watch TV or read on the sofa with a coffee rather than the usual laying on the bed. There was also a desk for my laptop with a good Wifi signal. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was well cooked and served with a smile. This Hotel makes a good base for touring Caithness, we did The Castle of Mae, John O'Groats and the Orkneys during the three days we were there.
Limited evening menu choice.
Friendly staff and convenient location for the Orkney ferry
Too many stairs and no offer of help with the cases.
I booked a single room, but found on arrival that I was in a two bedroom suite with sitting rooms and own kitchen. Presumably I was upgraded to fit in with the hotels other bookings, but it was a very pleasant surprise at no extra cost.
No complains very good will use again
Didn't find anything to complain about
It was close to the railway station. It had a big bathroom - I was in a studio room. The staff were very pleasant.
As I was on my own I felt a bit vulnerable in the ground floor studio room as I found it disconcerting to have people looking in my window as they walked by and this made me close the blinds earlier than I would have liked. The hot tap was lose on my bath but I didn't mention it as it worked perfectly.
We booked a family room and were given an excellent apartment.
All was good
There was nothing we didn't like
The chalet room was spacious and our party of three adults had plenty of wardrobe and cupboard space. The electric plug holes were in handy places and easy to access. The free internet was fast and without interuption. Members of staff were helpful and friendly. We have stayed here before and all areas of the hotel are always kept clean and tidy.
The only slight niggle was that the toilet cistern took ages to refill.
The location; it was an ideal overnight stop on our journey to Orkney.
Nothing; met our expectations
Possibility to have dinner. Convenient parking. Good bathroom in the room.
Our room is accessed directly from the parking, like a motel. The room wasn't exactly clean.
the helpfulness of the staff. The comfort of the room and the excellent food
If you're travelling to Thurso by train (which can take a while) the location couldn't be better as it's literally two minutes down the road from the station (hence the name!), the John O'Groats bus stops at the station as well. We had a Studio Room out the back of the actual hotel (no.28) which was very nice, the only complaint being the extractor fan in the toilet was a little noisy, you'll also find an umbrella in the wardrobe for your use (£25 if lost so be careful with it!) which came in very handy on our first day when the rain was torrential. The breakfast was very nice, the staff only too happy to help, when we asked about the bus to John O'Groats they went so far as to provide us with a photocopy of the bus timetable, and also gave us very good directions on another night. Recommended.
Very large suite with a large bathroom.Well located parking.
Problems connecting with wi-fi.
Relaxing atmosphere. Staff very helpful. Even when some of our group were late for breakfast they did not make a fuss but still served a full english breakfast. Rooms were spotless and cleaning staff lovely and happy to wait until we got together to go out for the day. One night 11 of us turned up for dinner about 8.30pm as we couldn't get in elsewhere and they still prepared dinner for us. Excellent service.
The bar closed one night about 10.30pm when a big group of us were still in the bar room. It would have been nice if they had just mentioned to us they were closing the bar.
Helpful staff. Good Breakfast. Good Dinner available at end of busy day. Paperbacks to read. Warm and comfortable to come back to. Parking available behind hotel.
Very nice, helpful staff,
Ramp to our room needed to be cleaned, very slippery.
