Very friendly staff, comfortable room with good provisions (shampoo, shower gel, iron, hairdryer and even shoe polish)! The dinners and breakfasts were nice and it is in a good location in Thurso. The only problem was that the heating wasn't on very much, so if you were in the room before 6pm it was really cold - and I woke up during the night for the 2 days I stayed because I was cold. However, the room quickly heated up when the radiator turned on.

Friendly staff and good food. Very comfortable and made very welcome. Only one thing to criticise was the shower in room 4. Electric shower is in need of an upgrade.

We liked the studio as it was like having a separate apartment. More private. The breakfast eggs were lovely too.

The hotel is conveniently located with easy on site parking. Stan would have to be one of the nicest hotel owners we have met and his staff are just as friendly and helpful. Nothing is a trouble and if you ask for anything to be attended to it is done in a split second. They serve a beautiful breakfast is excellent hot dishes and fresh seasonal fruit If you have to go to Thurso this is the place to stay The room decore is a little dated and basic but very comfortable

The hotel was very central and the bar meal was excellent. We were travelling to Orkney so the hotel was ideal for catching the ferry as it was only 5 minutes away from the terminal.

Very convenient for the railway station which is what I wanted. . Special efforts made to care for private guests when there was a tour of tourists from the Netherlands. I was given a twin room on the top floor which which was o k except for external floodlight glare till 12.30 A.M. Cannot comment on single room standards.

The facilities are excellent, food good and staff were very good and pleasant. I have stayed there before and would have no hesitation in staying again. The only reason I didn't give the room cleanliness top mark was because the room did not appear to have been hoovered and there was a beast of a spider in the bathroom!! Other than that it was spotless.

Third visit to the hotel - pleasant, friendly staff, very good food. Thurso is rather remote and I only go up when my rugby team is playing Caithness, so I am not the usual visitor, and find it difficult to use the classifications above -- they cater for National Trust type tourist buses, however.

Good central location. Clean tidy room. A little noisy - we stayed in one of the "chalet" rooms, and other guests had to file along a wooden walkway right past our room.
