Conveniently located with an excellent restaurant, did not use the bar as the cask beer was not on sale. Rooms are available that are not above the bar so no noise was noticed. As our room was ready we were able to check in an hour early. Car parking spaces at back. Shame about the rain!

A lovely, wee quaint hotel. Booked a Triple room but was given the Suite which was excellent and very spacious - consisting of a double room and a separate twin room for our 12-year old. Ate twice in hotel at night and food was very good, locally sourced (ice cream next door, oatcakes a few doors away) and reasonably priced. Staff very helpful and friendly. Rooms were cold when we arrived but soon became very warm when the radiators when turned up. Beds were reasonably comfy. Free Wifi. Pool table and darts available in Public Bar (children not allowed there so we just sat in the lounge). The Suite is located on the 1st floor at the front of the hotel and some noise could be heard from passing traffic outside. On checking out, the hotel had a problem with their phone connection/internet and the card reader wasn't working which meant having to go to the bank (2 buildings away) to get money out to pay the bill, but the lady was very apologetic about the hassles. Breakfast (which was very good) was served at the back of their function suite which was a bit cold. No real ale in the bar (Shore Inn has some though!). Overall though, nothing major.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at the Station hotel. There was a varied and attractive menu - we both chose off the specials board and thought the scallops were lovely. My husband had a mushroom and goats cheese starter and thoroughly enjoyed it and we just had to try the sticky toffee pudd for afters - it tasted just as it should - homemade and light and fluffy, not like the factory made stodgy rectangles that are served in a disappointing number of eating places. Would have liked more ice cream with it though! A big effort hs been made with the decor downstairs but we weren't wild about it. It was a bit depressing and the lighting in the restaurant didn't really help.

The comfort of the room was good, nice to see a hotel that provides enough milk in the room, to cover your taste, rather that the absolute minimum. Food was excellent, I had Ribeye steak, fantastic value, also good breakfast. I would recommend this hotel.

A very picturesque village on the Moray Firth with plenty to do and see around the area and within the village itself. Inverness and Aberdeen are within very easy reach and anyone with a love of nature/wildlife/walking/golf etc etc will benefit from staying here. The food is absolutely wonderful, but reasonably priced. We will definitely be visiting again asap. A lovely area with a lovely mild climate! Everything was lovely - can't say anything bad. It's on the main road through the village, but we didn't hear any traffic noise or disturbance.

Excellent value; comfortable and clean room, good standard of linen & decor. Excellent food, good menu, Chef setting high standards. Would be improved if dinner & breakfast could be taken later.
