Score from 766 reviews Very good
pretty room, nice bathroom, pleasant staff -
Clean room and friendly helpful staff.
Very small on suite bath room.
Upon check in the receptionist was friendly and efficient. There was ample parking and the free Wifi was good. The room was very comfortable with lovely pillows and duvet. There was a generous 32 inch LCD TV plus tea/coffee making facilities in the room. All the decor and furniture was like home from home comforts and quality unlike chain hotels. The bathroom was on the small side but had a double size power shower and quality cosmetics/toiletries for guests to use. We had a fab meal in 'The Kitchen' across the road which the staff kindly recommended and booked for us. Definitely work a visit! Slept really well as the room was quiet. We were on the top floor to the side of the hotel in room 6. Breakfast was a pleasure in a stunning dining room there was help yourself or cooked. We had a cooked breakfast and the food was top quality and freshly cooked to order. This hotel is a must to stay at of in Portsmouth for the night.
There was nothing that was bad or unacceptable to report here. Loved every second we were there and will be back if staying in the area again. Thanks to all the staff :-)
Nice hotel, rooms recently renovated
Couldn't connect to wifi, no lift
Friendly staff, provided with good info on local attractions. Good breakfasts with excellent service. Comfortable room with decent facilities.
Great service - friendly attentive staff Nice room- comfty bed Excellent breakfast
Small unattended bar area A little out of the way
stylish great breakfast nice bar
ground floor room
My room although an exec double was on the small side and the shower was very poor as was the tap on the bathroom sink. Only a trickle was available on both due to the pressure. Unfortunately my milk and tea and coffees etc weren't replenished each day as I stayed over 4 days, I had to go out and buy my own milk and additional toilet rolls and having no mini fridge available, it was a bit of a hassle although they were happy to store anything in their own fridge. My stay was enjoyable and very peaceful being location wise and within the hotel as I didn't hear any other guests bar meeting at breakfast time. Very accommodating and friendly staff and I would stay again for sure. For myself, it's the smallest things that make the biggest difference but I would certainly recommend this hotel.
Staff were pleasant but a bit thin on the ground Decor was in good repair and tasteful The restaurant opposite was helpful
I was in the small single room which in my view is suffocatingly small the hotel is in residential streets ..not many shops etc near by Breakfast was a 'B&B' experience of self conscious diners listening to each others conversations!
Breakfast was nice
Bed needs new mattress as very flat
Small, stylish boutique style hotel.
Location was good - it would need a sea view to make it excellent. The hotel is close to restaurants and shops in Southsea and to bus routes for Portsmouth centre. The room was clean and well presented. Breakfast was freshly cooked and very good - we did not eat in the restaurant.
The room we had was a bit small and as it was on the ground floor the view from the window was of the garden wall. However as the weather was hot during our visit and this did help to keep the room cool.
Restaurant staff excellent but not enough of them to deliver. Sirloin steak excellent. Sugar snap peas falling apart they were so overlooked. Chips in pretensious stack; pity they weren't crisp. Other veg tasted as if they had been stored already cooked in a fridge and then reheated and for too long. Cheese cake had all the hallmarks of haing been bought in. In summary doesn't live up to its potential and probably due to penny pinching
The layout & how each room was different.
The rooms were very hot.
Room was very attractively decorated Breakfast was excellent - best omelette I've had in a long time and lovely dining room Handy car park next to the building
Room a bit cramped and everything rather on the small side No air conditioning Pillows not too comfy
Very friendly staff clean tidy hotel value for money would stay there again . Restaurant was fantastic will eat there again great food and atmosphere
Excellent quality and friendly staff
Everything was spotless and service was very good.
Although we arrived after three pm. we had to wait for our room to be serviced.
The staff were good and courtious, the breakfast was excellent
The bath in the window in the bedroom , no shower. The cost of food in the kitchen restaurant for what you got was expensive
Breakfast was excellent and the ensuite was stunning.
The idea of the room was great but the execution let it down a little and for the price I expected air conditioning.
Very small bathroom, and sink very very small, The room that we thought we had booked was not up to that standard. No dressing table with mirror.
I stayed a night here , the room were small but staff were very friendly and helpful.
Stylish and different
Location and onsite car park
Good location, very helpful staff, comfortable rooms, excellent breakfast and within walking distance of cracking pub - perfect stopover for ferry!
