Great location (near Paddington station and many bus stops), friendly and helpful staff, basic breakfast and small breakfastroom with few tables. Room was ok. You get what you pay for. =) There wasn't a lift, the bathroom was small, we had to pay in advance for the total stay and the hotel charged us 5% on paying by credit card.

Good location and friendly stuff. The room had a full carpet that was filfy and had a terrible stench. We had to have the window open all the time even though it was winter in order to be able to remain there. We were in the second floor and we could hardly sleep with the people above us walking half the night, the whole roof shaked. It was a very busy street so it was very noisy.

It was close to where we wanted to go so that was a positive, and we were able to park our car in one of the available spaces out the front for 10 pounds a day, which is cheap. Very, very dated and in need of some tlc. Breakfast room didn't even have a high chair for our child which is pretty poor so we had to use our push chair. Staff in the breakfast room weren't that friendly and hospitable

The staff was excellent - very helpful. The allowed us to have breakfast 20 minutes before the dining room was scheduled to open because we needed to catch an early train. The price was good for a no-frills room near Paddington station. The location was excellent - a few blocks from the trains so we could make an easy early morning train to Heathrow. We did not have high expectations for the room - we knew it was a cheap room with minimal amenities yet we were still disappointed. No Wireless at all - even the cheapest hotels I've stayed at recently had wireless. Four flights of very steep narrow stairs to climb to get to our room. Lugging heavy bags up the stairs was difficult. Very low water pressure in the 4th floor bathroom. Enough for a shower, but just barely.

A short walk from nearest train station. Good and value-for-money. No lifts so we had to lug our luggage up the stairs.

The location only and the outside façade. It was very basic but perhaps that's all we could expect for the price we paid in London. One night was enough. We heard noise from the reception (people talking for ages) when we had got into bed and from people entering the hotel at gone midnight and going up to their room above ours. Breakfast was just ok, served in a very poky room. The tea and coffee looked like washing-up water. I didn't really like the attitude of the Albanian manager I had seen at the reception when I checked in and who kept me standing for ages to check in (when I was lame!) I'd already thought it was strange I had to call twice from Belgium to the hotel asking them to give us a lower floor room (which they did) as I had had an accident and was on crutches.

The hotel was just ok. It was nothing special but just about right for the price and location. There was a surcharge for paying by credit card which was right down the bottom of a long page, but the hotel agreed to remove the 5% charge when I complained. I was annoyed that refurbuishment of a room was going on and work started at 8am with no warning when I chekced in. Overall an ok stay with a few negative experiences. I doubt I would stay there again.

“The staff at Crestfield were absolutely friendly and helpful. The room was small as are all London hotels that are affordable, but I didn't mind it at all. The best part of staying at the Crestfield Hotel is the location. It is a block away from the King's Cross tube stop, which is in the heart of the city. Also, the Pancras International train station is there as well, making easy to grab a train to France/Belgium and the rest of Europe. Can't beat it!” Tony, Studio City |
