The food was excellent and the staff very helpful, although there could have been more on duty. The decoration of the room needed some attention, but we understand that the hotel has only recently been taken over and that this should improve. |

Very friendly staff at reception. Breakfast was waiting on a buffet line, so it was very fast but not cooked to order. Room was okay, a bit shabby but quite clean with hot water. Hallway was being renovated and smelled a bit moldy. This hotel is not really in Thurso; it's a bit outside of town and thus about 15 minutes to the Scrabster ferry. We had hoped to stay closer to the ferry, but traffic wasn't a problem so it worked out fine. |

The rooms were comfortable and very clean. The food was good. The staff were some of the friendliest I have come across making our stay enjoyable. They did everything they could to help from looking up bus timetables to getting extra pillows - nothing was too much bother and everything was done with huge smiles. It was such a pleasure to see staff in a hotel being so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent but there was only one waitress on duty on a busy Saturday morning so the breakfast bar was constantly running out of toast, juice, eggs, etc. The wee girl was run off her feet keeping up but she managed and all done with a smile! |

Personell, one man running the hotel, and the pub next to it. Breakfast. The outside of the hotel (backside) looks a old. Don't let it confuse you, on the inside everything is OK |
