Score from 68 reviews Very good
A stylish bed and breakfast in mainland Scotland’s most northerly town, Bed and Breakfast at 4 in Thurso enjoys a town centre location just 5 minutes’ drive from the ferry to Orkney.
Score from 136 reviews Superb
Very close to Thurso Train Station, this hotel has free Wi-Fi, free public parking and comfortable rooms with Freeview TV. Station Hotel serves fine Scottish meat cooked in a traditional style.
Score from 136 reviews Very good
Situated in the heart of the Scottish Highlands and within 10 miles from the village of John o’Groats, The Hideaway offers open views over the moorland and the Orkney Islands.
Score from 30 reviews Fabulous
Staff very pleasant ...rooms comfortable and warm .Rooms cleaned daily and towels changed daily which is a big plus for me ! Lovely dining room.
Nothing I didn't like!
Helpful staff. Convenient location and parking. Good sized room with a large bathroom, complete with separate bath and shower.
Very small room.
The owners and staff of this hotel were wonderful.
Staff friendly and welcoming.
Possible lack of parking.
the breakfast was good quality and the staff were helpful. Take the time to walk down to the beach for a stunning bay. The road to John a Groats is a stunning drive. Check out the Scrabster, the start of the A9, the longest A road in Britain.
the hotel is a little like a warren with not much information or pictures in the hallways. The room was pretty basic and quite expensive in comparison to hotels in Scotland that we paid less for, but were better standard. The photo of the front of the hotel is quite a good indication of what to expect in the hotel. Don't buy a pint in the over-expensive bar. Turn left out of the front door and you will find two other bars that were way cheaper.
Very friendly hotel, room was rather small but cosy. Despite being located in the centre of Thurso on one of the main roads, the hotel is very quiet. The cooked breakfast was tasty and available early in the morning (from 7 to 9).
Staff friendly and location ideal for what we wanted for one night.
Twin room small for 2 people.
Very small room, almost no shower water and poor beds
Friendly and very helpful staff. Good food. Very convenient location. Room was very clean. Comfortable bed.
Although the room was very clean, it was in need of some refurbishment.
For me it was one of the best hotels during my trip through Scotland. Friendly staff and a nice restaurant. The room was clean and had all I needed.
The staff at reception & in the restaurant were attentive, friendly, pleasant and professional.
room size a bit too small
My two teenagers and I, with bikes, were made very welcome, and when our plans changed, the hotel staff were helpful and always friendly. We stayed in a triple room (just right for us) with a nice big en-suite. Food was on the good side of adequate, but not outstanding. Overall, much better value for money than some others at twice the price!
Excellent hotel .Would highly recommend it.
Everything was excellent.
Location, cleanliness and friendly staff
Shower could be better
Very friendly staff. We got soaked when out walking. Receptionist arranged for clothes to be dried at short notice. They came back ironed as well and no extra charge! Food very good. Overall good value for money.
Large, comfortable and extremely clean single room with en suite. The staff were excellent, very helpful and lovely. Easy walk to the train station.
The WiFi was unreliable but that could be due to the town being so far north.
Bedroom too small for two people Shower very poor
Clean, friendly staff.
Very friendly staff
The foyer was quite attractive. The breakfast was good.
I disliked my bedroom. It was in desperate need of refurbishment and it wasn't very clean. Rotting window frame No ventilation in the bathroom Marks on walls No pictures Grubby and tired looking drapes
Close proximity to the beach and riverside walk Accepts dogs Nice breakfast
Location, staff, food was good
Only small negative no private parking. Not a major problem
The hotel had been renovated and everything was looking well cared for and spic and span. The ensuite bathroom was very good and the standard of cleanliness and neatness too. The bed was comfy. The staff were lovely - very willing to please. We were looking for the local museum and they had the right local knowledge. The breakfast offered a good choice and was pleasantly served.
Rooms were comfortable and clean
Window frames were rotten (but rooms were otherwise clean and comfortable) Wifi didn't work in my room but was okay in the bar ares
