St Clair Hotel  

The hotel had just re-opened the day before after the winter for easter weekend. It was a very clean, spacious bedroom, very friendly attentive staff who couldn't do enough for you and central location.

A second chair in the bedroom would be a bonus to save one person having to lie/sit on bed .Room was large enough to accomodate this

A very friendly welcome on arrival.The receptionist spent a long time checking local bus service times for us.It was a chilly evening but the room and public areas were lovely and warm. Dining room staff were very efficient and friendly. A large buffet selection at breakfast and excellent cooked meal. Spent only one night there but would definitely return.My wife said it was the best hotel bed she had ever slept in !

Clean rooms and comfortable beds

Whilst breakfast was reasonable, when we arrived we dined in the hotel and the evening meal was appalling. All the food was cold and of very poor quality, vegetables obviously heated up more than once were awful. My travelling companion should have had chips with his meal which they clearly couldn't be bothered to make and so he ended up with the same soggy and cold potatoes ang veg that I got. So stay here for the clean rooms but find a local chip shop to eat in as I am sure the standard will be higher there.

Old, tired, not very clean, rooms up two flights of narrow stairs, single rooms converted from larger rooms with paper thin walls.

A very nice hotel run by friendly people. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We dined there one night and the quality was very good. Good location for the far north coast of Scotland. Ferries to the Orkney Island only a few minutes away at Scrabster or half an hour away at John O'Groats.

We felt very welcome in this very homely hotel. Beds were very comfortable and everything very clean.Good position near train. Breakfast was top quality and staff very attentive.

The breakfast in the morning and the pleasantness of the staff and the cleanliness of the rooms more than made up for any shortcomings we may have noticed.

It was extremely comfortable, value for money and the evening meal and breakfast were first class.

Consigliato per una tappa. Pulito, gradevole, si cena discretamente. Personale gentile e disponibile a soddisfare le esigenze.

Prezzo un po' eccessivo.

Nous avons eu une chambre au 2ème étage sous les toits avec un très mauvais lit. Le parquet de la salle de bains devant le lavabo s'enfonçait ..,! Le lit était petit et le matelas hors d'usage . Le petit déjeuner était très moyen . Nous avons paye 78.50 livres et cela ne les valait pas. Hotel à éviter de toute urgence .

Hotel invisibile (forse sperano che chi ha prenotato non lo trovi). Camera sufficiente, cucina immangiabile (camerieri con macchie di unto sulla divisa mi avrebbero dovuto mettere sull'avviso ma ero troppo stanza). Hotel da depennare dal sito

Réceptionniste et serveurs très sympathiques et serviables.

Hôtel vieillot, mal entretenu. Lits peu confortables. Très difficile à trouver, car aucune indication ni enseigne sur la façade.

Trevlig personal. Bra läge. Ett britiskt standardhotell.

En General Bastante bien, tampoco hay mucho donde elegir.

Bastante "pasadillo" ya. Aun que limpio y funcional, da un poco de imagen de Motel de carretera.

Simple, sencillo y amable.

The St Clair Hotel was very clean, tidy and friendly. Centrally located in Thurso so access to all local facilities was excellent.

Bed was a bit 'creaky', other than that I could not fault the place - particularly at the prices charged.

The staff are naturally friendly and can not do enough to make your visit enjoyable, even when run off their feet with coach parties. You are made to feel valued as a customer. The set price evening meal is very good value, cooked well and nicely served. A 3* hotel without frills which provides a 4* service.

Nothing negative to say at all.

Es un pequeño hotel sin muchos lujos pero acogedor.
