St Denys Hotel

The choices of items on the breakfast menu was very good and the staff were frequently checking to see if you required anything more during your breakfast

The supposed bar had no white wine or soda water and only bottled beer was available

Staff were very helpful, accomodating and friendly. Food was good and the rooms were tidy.

Taps dripped in a few of the bedrooms and the plumbing was noisey in other rooms, screeching when other people used the water.

The location to all the main sites in the city of York

Not really a hotel no communal areas, no bar etc. Dinning room breakfast only and only available to 9am. Decore very dated and wall paper coming off the walls in places. Tap in hot bathroom broken, toilet seat broken (replaced during our stay). Only two rooms deocrated as shown on the website. This really was just a b&B.

very poor standard....not enough attention paid to detail.Bathroom lights not working ... badly fitting 'loo seat'.. bathroom door...unable to shut. Shower cubicle... grubby ...no place to put toiletries. dining room... staff attire grubby... unironed tablecloth

They should have told that they were under construction. It was picked because they said they had a bar. We like to relax in the evening. It was very noisey outside all night. (people partying(

The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms are a good size and generally comfortable, the hotel has a good proximity to the city centre and car parking for guests

The rooms/hallways are in need of redecoration and there is no airconditioning. If you are at the front, you get noise from the road with the windows open. Also they were refurbishing the bar which we did not know about when booking so this created noise out the back in the morning

Location. General friendliness.

The car parking was a bit limited so we had to move our car a few times but that wasn't too much of a problem.

the hotel was within walking distance and in a quiet area the staff were very nice and helpful the breakfast was great and rooms were clean and comfy

the showers but understand they are to be replaced soon

was not happy they didnt tell us about the refubishment before booking which meant we could use the hotel bar

Hotel was under refurb,seems as though some rooms were partly complete.

Looks very dated especially outside where more could be done to tidy up the entrance and walls, the car park is pretty rough but I see they are carrying out some modifications.

The breakfast was good and the staff tried to rectify the problems. The hotel was convenient to historic York. The back room was very quiet.

they were renovating. The plumbing didnt work in the first room and the matress of the singlebed was sloping to one side and difficult to sleep on. In the second room the main light didnt work.
