Central location, lovely food, clean rooms Staff could do to smile once in a while especially breakfast time a "good morning" would have been nice, only lady running the hotel was pleasent and made us welcome with conversation with the customers. |

They should have told that they were under construction. It was picked because they said they had a bar. We like to relax in the evening. It was very noisey outside all night. (people partying( |

Very close to town and all the attractions breakfast very good. Bed very comfortable. Renovations still ongoing bar not open.Small things not put right such as dripping tap, but we were moved when we complained |

The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms are a good size and generally comfortable, the hotel has a good proximity to the city centre and car parking for guests The rooms/hallways are in need of redecoration and there is no airconditioning. If you are at the front, you get noise from the road with the windows open. Also they were refurbishing the bar which we did not know about when booking so this created noise out the back in the morning |

Location. General friendliness. The car parking was a bit limited so we had to move our car a few times but that wasn't too much of a problem. |

The staff were very friendly and did their best under very difficult circumstances i.e. the refurbishment of the hotel. The breakfast was excellent. The general cleanliness of the hotel was poor, partly due to the ongoing chaos of refurbishment, the tap in the bathroom dripped constantly and the room needed a good clean, i.e. cobwebs etc. The parking was a nightmare, to such an extent instead of using the car we took taxis which was silly when our car was there but was blocked in and the only way to get it out was to wait until several people came and moved their cars. I wish I had been made aware that the amount of work needed was so much, although the hotel was extremely central I would have rather paid more and got somewhere which was cleaner and had proper parking facilities. I am sure when the work is finished the hotel will be lovely. |

the hotel was within walking distance and in a quiet area the staff were very nice and helpful the breakfast was great and rooms were clean and comfy the showers but understand they are to be replaced soon |

the bed, the linen was clean and changed daily. The room was dirty, the decor very poor (wallpaper hanging off the wall) There was no shower and I had to clean the bath before use. There was a distinct absence of staff apart from workmen doing refurbishments. |

Good location for visiting all of Yorks attractions.Good breakfast staff friendly limited parking next to hotel. Hotel was under refurb,seems as though some rooms were partly complete. |

Comfort of the bed and the breakfast. Looks very dated especially outside where more could be done to tidy up the entrance and walls, the car park is pretty rough but I see they are carrying out some modifications. |

I was impressed witht the room (the package we booked included a complimentory room upgrade), the room had a wonderful 4 poster bed and a huge bathroom with both bath and shower. The room felt very authentic with shutters rather than curtains but also had the luxury of a flat screen TV. Most of the staff were extremly helpful and went out of their way to assist you with any enquires. During our stay the hotel was undergoing reservations which did cause some noise and disruption. The bathroom wasnt as clean as it could have been and that little bit of extra cleaning and attention to detail would have made all the difference. |

The breakfast was good and the staff tried to rectify the problems. The hotel was convenient to historic York. The back room was very quiet. they were renovating. The plumbing didnt work in the first room and the matress of the singlebed was sloping to one side and difficult to sleep on. In the second room the main light didnt work. |

The first room that we were allocated was not really up to our standard but on talking to the manageress she moved us the following day to a ground floor four poster bed room that was excellent, we remained in that room for another two nights. The food for breakfast is first class and the staff cannot do enough to help you. |

We liked the friendly atmosphere and the great service. We also found our stay in York very relaxing and would not hesitate in chosing St Denys next time we visit your city. |

Very central for Minster and all the other sight seeing in York. Everything was within easy walking distance. Plenty of restaurants very near by offering a variety of menus. In need of renovation which I understand to be under way at the moment. The room was very clean. I also felt it was understaffed although the staff and manageress were very pleasant and helpful. |
