A gem of a village pub nestled in the beauty of The Northumberland National Park. Bedrooms were newly refurbished with large, exceptionally comfortable bed, quality furnishings and spotless ensuite bathroom with walk-in shower. Each room had its own private outdoor terrace with access to a larger garden terrace built-in to the hillside (all dog-friendly and dog-safe). A real bonus was that evening meals included an extensive Italian Restaurant menu cooked up by an authentic Italian chef, Delicious!
Breakfast was fresh, top quality, locally sourced, cooked to order and served with a smile. Particularly liked the on-site village shop and community hub. Congratulations to Karen and her team who have curated
hotel ambience and service within the context of a traditional village pub.

Perfect location for an evening out in the town, immaculate room and lovely facilities. Parking was really straightforwards thanks to the advice sent in advance by the B&B.
Came for the Northumbrian Gathering. It's a great event if you like folk music and dancing. Lots of local culture. Talented artists. And the town itself is very attractive. It is small enough to park and walk to all places of interest.

The Joiners Arms for beer and Martino Lounge for food worth a visit as are the Carlisle Park where Emily Davidsons statue is situated. But quite a mix of places to visit.
Leisure Centre would be good for families.

Secret Cottage, Morpeth (Host: Alex) Morpeth was fine but accommodation and host not so good. Reported a major fault (no lighting in the main bathroom) this was not repaired during stay and to add insult to injury the host lied about everything in response to my review of Booking.com. Please don't trust this host or give him any of your hard-earned cash as he doesn't deserve the business. He was totally unsympathetic and had a terrible attitude. He said "go ahead and report to Booking.com because at the end of the day it is up to the host if a refund is given". AVOID THIS HOST!

Morpeth is a lovely little town.
Morpeth is a lovely little town. Highlights for me were the bagpipe museum - really is great - the park and all the little shops, especially the cheese shop by the clock tower. I went in windy January on a bicycle, which was not ideal, but I still really enjoyed myself.

We were only there for one night for a family birthday so did not get the opportunity to visit all the shops in the town centre. We did go to a fantastic Italian Restaurant Lollo Rosso which served amazing food and such attentive and friendly staff.

Lovely traditional market town giving easy access to...
Lovely traditional market town giving easy access to wonderful Northumberland countryside, hills, moors, coast, castles, as well as Newcastle city centre for shopping, culture, nightlife, etc. Morpeth has several cosy coffee shops for delicious home baked scones and cakes, lunches, etc, as well as a variety of bars and restaurants and a unique traditional craft centre.
Would liken our experience to staying in a 5* hotel. We've never had slippers and the care package (bread, milk, beverages, condiments and toiletries) was beyond compare.
The doughnuts were the cherry on top of the icing!
Very comfortable bed, ample blankets to wrap up with if we wanted.
Tastefully decorated throughout.
Peaceful and secluded. Very clean throughout. Lovely shower and bathrooms. Very quirky furnishings. Nice BBQ area out back with a firepit. It was a lovely place to stay.
|Not too much close by, but the Northumberland beaches only 15 minutes away by car. Same for Alnwick where we found some really nice restaurants.
Great stay, Great host. Great value. Highly recommended staying here in the North East. We stayed here for the Great North Run and Morpeth is a lovely little town. In a world where everything is getting very expensive, to stay in a room as nice as this for £75 a night felt like a bargain
The apartment was clean and well equipped, with walk-in shower, comfy be, lounge area and a well equiped kitchen. Milk, T&C and crisps (!) all supplied. And the garage next door to park the bike was a great bonus! Morpeth is lovely - and the bagpipe museum really is a treat.
The location was fantastic , very quiet with nice views , the lodge was very cosy and the hot tub was great. It had everything you need for a self catering holiday and the bottle of prosecco on arrival was a nice touch , the wi-fi was very good and we had a really nice stay.
The location was excellent for exploring Morpeth, local walks and as a base for exploring Northumberland. Morpeth has some excellent restaurants. Nice garden which gets the sun in the afternoon and easy parking for one vehicle. Roomy property well equipped kitchen.
Breakfast was excellent. Wide choice, served promptly and piping hot. The dining room was comfortable, pleasing view of village live through the window, and temperature just right. Staff had time to chat but overall it felt like an efficient we-run hotel.
Location excellent for retreat I attended in Whalton village. Hotel decor somewhat shabby and dated BUT cleanliness excellent, breakfast delicious, staff very friendly and helpful. I would certainly return! Thank you very much!
Very spacious room and we were given three beds other than the expected 2. Staff were very friendly and accommodationing. Breakfast was excellent and the pub had a nice atomsphere and outside seating area was amazing
Fab big Family Room - lots of room for two and great for spreading out. Lots of space for motorcycle panniers, helmets, jackets.
Recommend Morpeth Motorcycles Cafe (pretty much next door) for a cooked breakfast 👌
Beautiful accomadation extra helpful staff and amazing food and value. Loved they accomadated our two dogs from start to finished, with dog friendly rooms (a decent size too) to a dog friendly eating area.
The cottage was well equipped with everything you need and spotlessly clean. It’s in a perfect location and everything within Morpeth is within walking distance of the cottage.
The cottage was lovely, very clean and homely.
Perfect if you have a dog too.
Great location very close to Morpeth town centre
and lots of great beaches close by.
We had a full English breakfast, which was delicious. The owner, Elaine was very polite and friendly. We would certainly recommend this to anyone visiting the area.
The flat was beautiful, really comfortable I will definitely stay there again . The Christmas tree was a lovely touch.
It's also really handy for Morpeth shops.
It's cheap and they always have rooms! Ok if you are in a pinch or at short notice. Bed was ok, no breakfast was available, which is probably a good thing.
