The location, the building, the room, I also liked the pictures and the original banisters. We also enjoyed the breakfast. I liked the toiletries,I liked the carpet in the lobby and I liked the welcome from the reception. I didn t like the door at the foot of the stairs, I didn t like the scaffolding as I could nt see the building properly.

This hotel is in a good position in the historic part of the town. It is also a quality base from which to explore other historic sites ie Wallace Memorial & Bannockburn. The Trossachs National Park is within reach too. The breakfasts are good with lots on offer.

An exclusive (wedding?) booking that excluded some guests. If I wouldn't be allowed to use the restaurant....I'd have gone elsewhere. I was excluded as I wasn't connected with the exclusive booking. My car on the day cost 85 grand new but none of the staff semed to realise that I wasn't a good person to upset!

Very good location, the building itself has a good layout with lots of history. Clean and tidy. Food good. We had a problem with noisy neighbours (one night only) with a reluctance from the hotel night staff to act reasonably & proficiently? However it was resolved eventually on the night in question. No problems after that. Overall a very good stay.

Good value for money overall and friendly and helpful staff. Excellent location, close to city centre and also to Castle. Hotel bar prices are much too expensive but not really an issue as there are plenty others to choose from within a few hundred yards of the hotel door.

Location is good and the breakfast was excellent wiht lots of fresh fruit and excellent choice of breakfast foods. Staff seem a little undertrained - there was confusion over availability of internet and all the staff seemed very young. The lift was increadibly slow and positively scary with some very heavy 'joint rattling' shudders as it heaved itself up to the first floor

The location due to being central for shopping or the Castle and surrounding historic venues. The breakfast food was excellent amd of good quality. Front desk staff were all friendly. Bottom floor was very noisy and you hear people walking along. Room with adjoining room was extremely noisy and managed to hear conversations, therefore not very private.

my husband & i held our wedding reception in this hotel over 13 years ago. We had a great time then, and, i'm pleased to say, it was nearly as good this time round. The rooms are a bit 'tired' now, but spotlessly clean and comfortable and the breakfast was amazing. Staff were, for the most part, very engaging, friendly and helpful. Thanks, this was a last minute 'overnighter' and we'll definately do it again soon.

The staff were very friendly. We got an upgrade to a premium room as it was our anniversary and the team left a card and fruit bowl for us. Breakfast was lovely. The parking is free, but not a lot of spaces, we were lucky to get one on arrival, and decided to leave the car in case we couldn't get parked again, didn't want to pay parking charges, but this is small minor problem and did not spoil things.

The hotel had charm and character. I would reccomend for couples, family and singles. In excellent location right next to the castle. The only negative about the hotel was the selection of main meals in the restaurant. Not much selection but even so the food was excellent.

Wonderful staff, very welcoming. Dinner was amazingly good. Breakfast could have been better, but I always think buffet breakfasts are difficult to do successfully.
