Views Breakfast Location
Such attention and quality is hard to find, at Stoberry its in abundance
From the complimentary glass of wine on arrival, the extra personal touches throughout to the memorable home made breakfast, everything was truly fantastic . Thank you
Nothing, it was all delightful.
Francis was so hospitable, excellent in every way. Fantastic hospitality in every way.
Booked for a business colleague to stay 1 night, she wanted to stay the week!
As a solo traveller I'd booked a single room but Frances immediately upgraded me to an empty double room to give me some more space. A welcoming glass of red wine and some savoury popcorn in the smaller sitting room helped me quickly forget the troubles of the day. The bed was comfortable, and the room facilities were great. The continental breakfast was just amazing. Frances had plenty of home made items including yoghurts, mueslis, compotes, jams, and pastries. I could easily have sat there for hours just sampling all the flavours. When you step out of the front of the property the view across Wells is simply stunning. This is a great location with a genuine welcome. Highly recommended.
Stoberry House is the most delightful house I have ever stayed in and the gardens are beautiful. The hospitality is second to none from an extremely welcoming couple, and the food was divine. Situated where it is - perfect!
Excellent service Great location
Fantastic breakfasts, attentive hosts, lovely gardens, comfortable room
low water pressure but hardly a serious problem
Situation of house just perfect as well as setting, décor and facilities. The Breakfast was delicious the variety and quality of food second to none. Charming and vey helpful staff
The shower cubicle was somewhat cramp, this is not to criticize merely to help
Beautiful property, both building and grounds. Breakfast requires a stay of several days to enjoy the variety of food available. Rural location and views down to Wells as well as still being only a short walk into town were an added pleasure.
Nothing other than having to leave after just one night
I do not have enough superlatives to describe the breakfast, it was a work of art.
Perfect in every way: beautiful location, ideal for relaxing and unwinding, caring, friendly hosts, beautiful, elegant, spotless rooms, excellent breakfasts, fantastic garden to walk in. Good for walking into Wells.
High quality accommodation with lots of added 'touches' to make the stay special. Easy walking distance to Wells centre and lovely grounds/aspect to soak up.
That we had to leave...
It's set in beautiful surroundings, close to the city, it's peaceful, luxurious and they serve wonderful breakfasts.
Absolutely everything! From the moment we arrived it was a delight. Location, ambiance, catering, all surpassed our expectations. Stay for two nights to experience the breakfast more than once!!
Breakfast was all home made I was very impressed. I also had soup and a sandwich for tea as I didn't want to travel.
The location is lovely and Frances and her staff offer more than home comforts, providing just about everything you could think of in a luxury B&B. They are welcoming and very helpful. The continental breakfast must surely have already built up a reputation for it's diversity and homemade food! I was in the smallest (single) room which did not skimp on the luxury extras and the bed was around 4'6'' so plenty of room. The communal sitting room and kitchenette is a wonderful bonus too. The house is in peaceful settings and you have access to the gardens with a stunning view over Wells Cathedral with Glastonbury Tor in the distance. I wanted for nothing and hope to return again soon.
There were only 2 things I would have preferred. 1. a separate shower room (the single room has it curtained off but I believe the doubles are separate) a little more room in the shower itself. 2. A full size bath towel
So many nice touches - items from the garden at breakfast, four types pillows, latest magazines in the room, convertor plug in every room ... To name just a few.
Everything, including the Dalwinnie!
For business people the wi-fi could be improved
Attention to detail was excellent, very comfortable, lovely garden altogether a very nice place to stay.
Although the breakfast was very nice and varied, we felt it was a little over the top.
Frances is a delightful hostess, who greeted me with coffee and cakes, The house is lovely and the views across the cathedral across the Vale of Avalon to Glastonbury Tor were fantastic.
Lovely views down the hill to the town and southwards. Spacious garden. Amazing variety of local foods on the breakfast buffet.
En suite bathroom was really just a curtained off corner of the room with mini loo and basin and coffin sized shower. Breakfast not available until 845am, continental only unless you can predict your needs 48 hours in advance, and most of the breads seemed to be toasted rather than fresh.
cold breakfast included. Would have preferred traditional English breakfast
