It's set in beautiful surroundings, close to the city, it's peaceful, luxurious and they serve wonderful breakfasts.
Absolutely everything! From the moment we arrived it was a delight. Location, ambiance, catering, all surpassed our expectations. Stay for two nights to experience the breakfast more than once!!
Breakfast was all home made I was very impressed. I also had soup and a sandwich for tea as I didn't want to travel.
So many nice touches - items from the garden at breakfast, four types pillows, latest magazines in the room, convertor plug in every room ... To name just a few.
Everything, including the Dalwinnie!
For business people the wi-fi could be improved
Attention to detail was excellent, very comfortable, lovely garden altogether a very nice place to stay.
Although the breakfast was very nice and varied, we felt it was a little over the top.
Frances is a delightful hostess, who greeted me with coffee and cakes, The house is lovely and the views across the cathedral across the Vale of Avalon to Glastonbury Tor were fantastic.
Lovely views down the hill to the town and southwards. Spacious garden. Amazing variety of local foods on the breakfast buffet.
En suite bathroom was really just a curtained off corner of the room with mini loo and basin and coffin sized shower. Breakfast not available until 845am, continental only unless you can predict your needs 48 hours in advance, and most of the breads seemed to be toasted rather than fresh.
cold breakfast included. Would have preferred traditional English breakfast
We loved everything about our stay at Stoberry House
Everything. The rooms are excellent, the breakfast quite exceptional, the attentiveness of the owners second to none and all in a residence in a quite superb setting.
I couldn't dislike anything about Stoberry House or its proprietors,
We enjoyed the hotel's wonderful gardens and the location of the hotel was great too. Breakfast was a real treat and for a special touch we also booked a champagne cream tea which we enjoyed in the grounds. Our room was lovely: the owners had thought of everything we might need and supplied it all in the most luxurious ways. They were also very friendly and helpful - they truly wanted us to have a fantastic stay with them, and we did! We would certainly recommend Stoberry to all our family and friends.
Nothing to add in this box!!
Excellent setting with easy access to the centre of Wells but feeling of being entirely rural. Magnificent gardens with views over Wells Cathedral towards Glastonbury Tor. Warm welcome and a breakfast that you must experience to understand how good it is.
Hospitality - never had a host like Frances before The suite The views mixed with peace and quiet Superb breakfast (yoghurt and rhubarb was fantastic)
Wish we stopped longer Having to leave!
Everything about Stoberry House was excellent in every way.
Excellent welcome. amazing breakfast!!
Attention to detail Quality of breakfast Wine & nibbles on arrival
Quite simply everything about Stoberry House was absolutely fabulous
Quite simply that we couldn't stay longer
Stoberry House was exceptionally clean, very well appointed, everyone was very friendly, well priced, well positioned with beautiful views.
Nothing, could not fault it
Beautiful location. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was a real treat, with a huge array of homemade pastries, bread, preserves and much more. It felt like being invited into someone's home, which was really lovely.
Everything! A lot of thought has gone into the development of this establishment. We felt like honoured visitors, not paying guests. Very welcoming, gorgeous grounds, fantastic views of Wells and surrounding countryside, brilliant breakfast, comfortable room. I could go on!
That we had to leave!
A superior B and B in excellent surroundings
We stayed in the Black Orchid room, a standard double bed which I thought should be slightly cheaper than The Silk Room with the king size bed
The owners were friendly and welcoming. The location is outstanding. The room was terrific.
This accommodation can only be described as outstanding. The beautiful old stone house is located in the most stunning garden we've seen attached to an hotel, and overlooks Wells Cathedral. The breakfast is in a class of its own (mostly home-made by Frances), the rooms are delightful, and the hosts (Frances and Tim) and their team (Wendy, Anya and others) are more than willing to provide advice and suggestions. This really is a very special place to stay, and we do hope to return one day.
This accommodation is as near perfect as one could hope to find. My only (very minor) reservation is that our bathroom did not have a proper shower; but my wife prefers a bath anyway, and the bathtub was excellent.
My colleague stayed here for one night and wanted to stay much more!
Breakfast is a late start for most [9am] but the owners immediately put themselves out to make at 7.30!
