The staff were really friendly and remembered us from a previous visit. They were very helpful and thoughtful. We were at a family wedding reception on the evening which was held in the hotel and found that although the venue really lent itself to the occasion, the drinks didnt. Everyone we spoke to made the comments as ourselves that the Beer and Lager were both flat and tasted watered down. It was not a very good advertisement for the venue. |

Most noticeable was the friendliness and courtesy shown by the staff. I wasn't overly impressed with the room but I booked late and got one of the last 4 rooms available. It wasn't bad, and definitely not so bad that it would deter me from going again - I'd book earler - and was more than made up for by the courtesy of the staff and central location. |

The staff were particularily friendly especially when my wife had to leave early to drive to work in York, they opened up the breakfast room so she could eat before she travelled. |

It was handy for my business trip - close to station at Thornaby + near where my meeting was. The hotel is looking a bit tired now + the swimming pool has been closed |

Individually controlled radiators in the rooms, plenty of hot water, comfortable bed. Very friendly and efficient staff members. Very good value for an excellent location with everything on the doorstep. Yes the decor is tired and could do with a refurbishment-however at these prices I am overlooking that. The good points for me, far outweigh the bad points. I will continue to stay here when necessary. |

Room was a good size, the cost was reasonable (it was a Sunday) for the comfort and appearance of the hotel Hotel somewhat 'tired' in appearance and decor. Needs a good makeover which would presumable affect the price |

Centrally located for my needs. Helpful staff. Good restaurant, food was excellent and good choice of wines - reasonably priced In need of a refurbishment, parts are a bit threadworn. Health centre had recently closed which was a pity. |

The Swallow Stockton was placed at the end of Stockton high street which was an excellent location for easy access to the local shops, pubs and restaurants. It also allowed easy acces to all the local transport services allowing us to explore the area by bus. Middlesborough was only a 20minute bus journey from the hotel. The hotel restaurant served excellent food with good service. Worth trying. |

I found the hotel building very dated, and the decor very dowdy. The service in the restaurant was very poor. There were several moments of confusion surrounding when we could dine and whether what we had ordered was available or not. Our original meal was dropped on the floor by staff which caused much hilarity, but no improvement in service. |

i stayed for a party and the function room was good the hotel was very tired, the key to my room did not fit - had to get the duty manager to open it twice, not enough staff, the drinks very expensive, the bar in the lounge looked very depressing. The place needs an overhall. |

central location, easy to find, good reception area and friendly staff. Room had all necessary facilities as expected. breakfast on saturday did not start until 8 am. thought that a little bit late, perhaps a 07:30 start? Room accoustics made corridor traffic noise audible and noise from adjoining room. Only found out when paying that breakfast was not included in room rate. |

It was in a very central location. The bed, although it was just a double was very comfortable. The shower was very powerful. We would have liked breakfast to be included in price but it was too expensive as an extra. It was cheaper to go accross the road to Thomas Sheratons. |

Good service, helpful staff, excellent dinner. Some overall refurbishment of public areas and bedrooms is overdue.Choice of Buffet breakfast is too limited - ie different type of eggs - scrambled, poached - kippers |

The privacy and comfort of the room. The health club for relaxation.kettle and tea-making. Space in the room. I attended a course through the day and didn't like being kept awake by disco music when it was time to get some rest. |
