Location Main hotel and stable buildings Grounds Value for money
In need of decoration Unappealing 70s/80s buildings - conference center and woodland lodge Appalling condition of swimming pool, desperately in need of modernisation Food only ok Reception desk would be better located in main hall to offer a more grand entrance to guests.
Everything. Amazing location, stunning building, lovely staff and great food. Fabulous.
For sure service was very poor need improvement from restaurant to the room cleaning.
Very comfortable bed in nicely refurbished room in Stable block (Single room). Amazing house and grounds. Peaceful and relaxing. Breakfast was excellent. All room facilities you would expect. Very clean and tidy. Good lighting in room and bathroom, with exception of no separate bedside light.
Large picture of nude child on bedroom wall! Absence of a window (but skylight in roof so room was not dark). No bedside light. Poor mobile signal.
Size of the room and facilities
Lack of phone reception
The whole experience was amazing, the facilities in the main house are beautiful
the leisure centre is very dated
Main building is stunning Excellent breakfast Beautiful grounds Plenty of hot water Close to A1
Room in courtyard felt over priced Hot water coming out of cold tap! Too few staff in bar in evening
Good breakfast and beautiful house and surroundings
No wifi or phone signal in lodge accommodation and digital tv signal erratic - take a book to read!
A lovely hotel in a beautiful setting with friendly professional staff. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay for the second time highly recommend
The location The full English breakfast The leisure centre
The very noisy bed, each time we moved the squeaking woke us The very tired decor in the room, plaster peeled off, cobweb fly strewn window Mouldy tiles around the bath..revolting Terrible overpriced food in the terrace bar Dirty surroundings in terrace bar, wet filthy bar, open door so we were freezing, very poor service, hard to remind twice for a glass of water Extremely tired decor in old stables courtyard rooms, one centre light with two side table lights made for a very depressing room where we wanted to spend as little time as possible The beautiful hall belies a very sad state of affairs behind the scenes
I stayed in the stable block in the disability room. It was very tire looking & dirty. The wet room was disgusting thick black mould and smelt do. No fan or opening window.
Smell, mould, dirty dressing table.
Cleanliness of property was poor. Service was slow at evening and breakfast - decor in rooms was very dated
Quiet location in the heart of the countryside. superb facilties
Nice big room, comfy bed
Very dirty & unkempt. Very poorly staffed
Large, clean, comfortable bedrooms with good bathroom facilities. The facade and grounds were spectacular.
Swimming Pool canopy covered in mould and not attractive. Decor in need of updating in public areas.
Beautiful surroundings and hotel
Food was very good, gluten free options and soya milk option for breakfast.
our room was adjacent to the bin store and delivery entrance, which resulted in our sleep being disrupted both late at night and very early in the morning 6am.
no wiev from the room
we where in the Woodlands, it was spacious, the grounds beautiful. the breakfast was great and had a wide choice to choose from.
we had a evening meal on the first night, would recommend going out for a meal, very disappointed. Went to Springfields shopping centre and had our evening meal the second night
Building and Gardens pleasent staff.
Dirty mugs in room!
Nice comfy room, beautiful building
Bit old fashioned and in need of a refurb. Leisure centre very run down
I loved it all
The house itself was cold . The man that was in charge of the wedding (jamie I think) was rude to his staff on a number of occasions which I think was unnessary as they were brilliant but to do it in front of guest is un called for
Good hotel with beautiful countryside views. Breakfast varied with lots of choice.
Velux window in single room so NO view!
The facilities were perfect my needs, i took my road bike and the surrounding areas are made for road cycling. The staff was spot on in welcoming me on arrival, breakfast and the bar staff all friendly. The food from the bar was excellent.
Nothing local with in walking distance.
The main building was lovely, breakfast was good with a very good selection to caterer for everyone.
i find the bedroom to be poor, was not very clean coffee mark down the drawers. the bed was not comfy and you could hear every sound in the other rooms.
