Our stay at Ston Easton was like a visit to an English country house with excellent service and food. Very relaxing with old fashioned style and luxury. Altogether a very pleasant experience. Not being doggy people wouldn't want to be in a room that a dog had been staying in. That's just a personal thing though and not the hotel's fault. Perhaps there would be rooms where dogs were not allowed to stay?

This was our second stay. The place is quiet, elegant, and simply beautiful! A walk in the park really lifts the spirit of anyone with just the smallest interest in gardens. The breakfast is a treat, and the staff is very attentive. This is a truly relaxing place. We will certainly be back! Although very comfortable and nicely decorated, some of the smaller rooms have unusually low ceilings (it is an old building, so it is quite understandable). This is fine for short people, a little uncomfortable for the tall ones.

Virtually everything. It is a fabulous place to stay, especially if you are celebrating something (for us it was my husband's birthday). The staff throughout the hotel were brilliant - someone even wrote 'Happy Birthday' in chocolate on my husband's dessert plate. Proximity to Bath, Bristol, Cheddar, Glastonbury etc and several nt properties make it a super base if touring. Only water and an ice bucket on the hospitality tray in room, no facilities for making hot drinks. Coffee at breakfast was tasteless. If the weather is bad there isn't a lot to do inside the hotel.

A beautiful hotel set in lovely countryside; opulent bedroom with lots of space and furnishings that are very condusive to relaxing. The guest lounge/library etc are abit too formal but nonetheless very pleasant. The dining room likewise can be very quiet inhibiting conversation but this doesn't take anything away from it being a lovely place to eat. The food was excellent but the menu should be changed more frequently or at least have a daily speciality, breakfast could not be faulted. Finally the staff were excellent and deserved the 'optional' 10% service charge applied without consultation which was abit cheeky but not begrudged. I small matter but the bedroom had a very strong smell of polish, perhaps could do with some room fragrance.

Wonderful location, lovely staff who are friendly in a natural way, olde' world charm and elegance, excellent food. We really enjoyed our stay and it's a good base from which to visit many of Somerset's attractions. Will stay there again one day!

Great example of a countryhouse hotel, classic style and has resisted the temptation of fusion with modern elements. Slightly tricky and dated bath room appliances add to the charm Great gardenwalk Viktorian Interior of Stables is sadly left to rot, what a pity.
