Uxbridge
Surrounded by 36 acres of classical parkland southwest of Bath, Ston Easton exudes elegance, warmth and comfort. Enjoy glorious rooms, fine cuisine and large, beautiful grounds. Ston Easton is a Palladian mansion located halfway between Wells and Bath, and about 11 miles from Bristol. Mixing history with style, space and luxury, it offers a cozy but modern atmosphere. Bedrooms have enticing views, and four-poster or king-size beds. A walled Victorian kitchen garden supplies the house with organic fruit, vegetables and flower. The award-winning cuisine is a combination of home-grown and local produce served in both formal and relaxed settings. Hotel Rooms: 21, Hotel Chain: Von Essen.

It was as though you'd been invited as a guest at a stately home. Afternnontea in front of an open fire. Fantastic food. Lovely setting. Very comfortable yetvluxurious room Staff just right balance of friendliness and attentiveness. It was closer to a main road than I'd expected. Traffic noise not a problem but had envisaged it would feel more secluded

Great staff, great room and living rooms, great diner next to the fireplace. The exact definition of what you're looking for in England : old fashionned / mannered luxury / soulfull places. We loved it. The fact we had only one night there.

The staff were friendly and professional and nothing was too much trouble. We took coffee and biscuits (which were scrumptious) in the lounge with it's beautiful eagle ceiling and spectacular plasterwork, it was something to behold. Oscar came over to join us and was a good dog because he was as discrete as he was well behaved. Our room had everything we wanted and overlooked the front of the house and the grounds were there to be explored and so pleasant to walk around. We came away feeling we'd experienced something really rather special having enjoyed every minute of our stay.

It's a home from home The lack of Wi-Fi is annoying and would probably put a number of people off - although there is Broadband, most modern phones and devices do not have a compatible socket.

The staff is truly excellent which sets this place apart from most. This has been our second stay at Ston Easton Park and despite a lot more visitors, we were once again struck by the peacefulness of the place the tranquility. It is a truly wonderful place to stay.

location. country house. breakfast. cost of dinner. far too expensive, so we only had one dinner at hotel. this meant that we had to drive to midsomer norton for the other 3 evenings. we would recommend this hotel but with a warning about cost of dinners

The quiet and countryside location was as expected. The historic building was impressive. Staff was very friendly and efficient. Facilities in the room were up to standard. No air conditioning in the room forcing us to leave the windows open. This was on a rather normal summer day with temperatures not exceeding 22°C. As a result the noise coming out of the kitchen (room was on the second floor facing a small courtyard) could be heard and was rather disturbing considering the price we have paid.

Large high room with adjacent large quirky bathroom. Latter had a really huge double shower-head unit and an equally large stand-alone bath tub angled in front of a fireplace. Massive, and I do mean massive double bed, old fashioned spacious wardrobe, several chairs and excellent views. Room service was superb - and staff extremely friendly and helpful. Parking was available right outside the front door. Grounds well worth a walk, with a large and interesting kitchen garden - with gardeners that have time to chat. Stylish breakfast well worth getting up for. Very expensive, but what do you expect at a country house like this ? Would have been cheaper to have booked two nights using their offer (including one dinner) - and then only used one night!! Room was slightly 'musty' - which was easily fixed by opening windows. Bathroom only had a single basin, no mixer tap, poor lighting for shaving and worst of all (for a hotel at this price) no shaving mirror!

hotel is in a pleasant countryside setting; the staff are welcoming and the rooms comfortable. The food was good (but service slow). there were a lot of steep stairs to reach our room. Minor irritations - a hotel of this category should be able to provide semi skimmed milk at breakfast; a better range of teas and decent coffee.

A wonderful place, superb reception rooms, very nice room, nice surroundings and garden ! Friendly staff Very desappointing breakfast : the first day I was served the worst scrambbled eggs I ever had. The second day, I tried the "cooked breakfast" : the bacon was overcooked, one of the fried egg "broken". We received 2 toats/P.P. And had to wait hours for more, they always forgot to put a jug of milk on the buffet and on our table. Usually in this kind of hotel when we go to our room after dinner, the bed is ready. That was not the case here. Don't worry we did it ourself and hadn't to sleep on the floor ;-)
