Stone House Hotel  

Lovely location, friendly staff.

Had to "hang around" a bit on arrival. Room not quite ready and just one active member of staff who was ran off his feet. Bank holiday sunday thought the management team would have thought this though?

The hotel is in an excellent position, on its own, surrounded by the dales. It is small-ish, retaining many period features and has a very personal feel. The staff have an easy manner matched with thorough competence, clear indications of good management. The food was excellent; fresh ingredients, unfussily presented. A memorable stay.

Would benefit from better lighting from the car park area. (I arrived in the dark).

Place with a lot of character. Very good staff and service. Good size room for a single person. Nice email from the hotel upon my return home. Walker friendly. Good car park area. 3/4 mile from Hawes.

The restaurant and standard of cuisine

Excellent food. Friendly and attentive staff. Beautiful,quiet location. Not the cheapest place to stay but very good value for money nevertheless. Dog friendly. Family run.

From the moment I arrived everybody was very friendly and helpful and so it carried on until my departure after a two night stay. Nothing was too much trouble.

We thought the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and had a nice view. The bed was comfortable, the breakfast was tasty, although we had to wait a while for it to arrive. The situation of the hotel was good with excellent views. Pity we only stayed 1 night. We have stayed at hotels which gave us better value for the same or better facilities, we thought the price was a little high. We would certainly stay there again

It was everything we wanted and more plus the hotel upgraded us due to a booking oversight at no expense to us fantastic. Food was excellent and the staff very friendly in fact everyone we spoke to staying at the hotel was totally satisfied with their accommodation and the menu on offer. The service was first class and nothing too much trouble for any of the staff who always welcomed you with a smile. Will we stay again you better believe it......the sooner the better Thanks Chris and the team

A very friendly welcome. Super facilities and a really top quality restaurant. The table d'haute dinner was truly firts class. Fellow guest in the restaurantwas something of a gourmet and like us he was highly impressed.

It is a lovely hotel, really pretty and in a gorgeous location. The staff were very helpful and the food was good. The only thing that would prevent us returning more often is the price.

The atmosphere. The public rooms were comfortable an decorated in a traditional fashion. The food was good and well served.

I stayed in a single room and the bathroom was cramped. The sink got in the way when using the loo. The TV only had channels 1 to 4 and a couple of others. No radio. Since digital is all you can get in the dales I feel a little more effort to get radio was in order.

Old fashioned luxury in a grand old manor house set is the Yorkshire Dales. Pleasant and obliging staff. Our bedroom was large with conservatory attached with a walk out to the gardens. All spotlessly clean.

The dinner seems to be a set three course which I thought was over priced. I went into Hawes and got a first class meal at one third the price.

The staff were friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was homely, cosy and relaxed. The setting is beautiful. There are many walks in the area.

The Stone House Hotel was an excellent venue for our stay in the Yorkshire Dales. It was very atmospheric, I loved the Tiffany Lamps against the wood and I loved the log fire. It was very central to all the places that we wished to visit.

If something, wireless internet didn't work in our room, so we went to the bar/lobby (next to the chimney) where it worked perfectly, very fast!. We ended up socialising with other guests and having some drinks! Great atmosphere!

Bedroom was small, but we expected that from a comment on web site. Perfectly comfortable.

The staff couldn't do enough to help us. You can tell this is a family bussiness and we loved every minute of our stay. Good service, food and wine.

Toilet liep door. Gelukkig waren er twee deuren tussen de badkamer en de slaapkamer.
