We had problems with the room - it was not ready even at 9pm - had to move us to a new room. Breakfast in the morning took 90 minutes to finish due to the inattentiveness of the staff in not seeing that we had finished our porridge and clearing the bowls so that the hot meal could be started. Their attitude seemed to be that it was our fault for having the porridge. Doubtful we would stay there again
Very comfortable bed and room, lovely and quiet, excellent breakfast too
A long way to the room with a suitcase, up and down stairs and lots of doors
I have recently been diagnosed as needing a Gluton free diet and the restaurant staff and the chef could not have been mote helpful in meeting my needs.
Excellent breakfast and there was a christmas do on but our bedroom was the other end of the hotel so no noise.
Bar service was slow.
Friendly staff, especially in making you feel welcome even with a boisterous toddler. Excellent breakfast on our B and B basis. Able to use swimming pool (and gym if needed) which we took advantage of and baby loved it.
We only arrived late and left early so no chance touse all the facilities, but the hotel was very comfortable and friendly
Location It was really old decor but yet classic and comfortable
Comfort of Room Quality of service Value for money
food choice entertainment availability
Meals were very good
Room was tatty
Dynamic and proactive waiter and reception - Helped me find my business venue destination for the next day. Waiters were witty and positive
Room 7 was near a constantly used and noisy door and outside was an air conditioning unit that would start up at all hours with plenty of noise as well.
Warm swimming pool. Specialty coffee's. Reception staff polite and friendly. Within easy drive of Alton Towers
Dusty bedroom, dirty cushions. Lights not working in bedroom on arrival. Restaurant - poor atmosphere, very overpriced for very mediocre food, brought out wrong food on multiple courses (inc. fish on a vegetarian starter). Table next to us experienced the same. Promised no charge for the starters as no replacement as well as a free drink, when we collected the bill on checking out neither of these had been processed and reception staff were none the wiser. Overall, if you plan to stay here - would recommend some good anti-histamines and a taxi to a proper restaurant in town.
Bed was very comfortable
Breakfast was poor you sit down then it takes 10/15 mins to come an ask what you want ! Then 20 mins for your breakfast ! No cold mixers in bar
Good location, not too far from the main town. Polite and friendly staff.
A little bit noisy, doors banging throughout the night. But is that because I'm a light sleeper.
Staff were friendly and willing, but not enough of them, so for instance we had to wait at an unattended bar and couldn't find anyone when we went in the restaurant
Room slightly worse for wear. Tiniest TV I have ever seen. No lift so had to lug cases up stairs. Whole place was overheated.
Breakfast, very civilised and no pressure. Bar and decor. Nice and quite and relaxing location. Loved the garden room and the red wine.
Felt awkward with privacy with a man blowing leaves outside the window of the double garden doors. Funny smells in the corridor.
Pool lot smaller than depicted on site. Local residents were unfriendly to kids playing in pool. Staff not very approachable or knowledgeable about the area.
A very comfortable hotel.
Location Free Parking Lovely bedroom Quality public rooms Good food and hot
There was nothing about our stay which we disliked, except one moaning woman, a professional moaner who was moaning about any thing and every thing including no T spoon on her table. Get a life and enjoy, you a long time dead.
Comfy bed Lovely thick towels
Hotel very dated and tired looking. Burnt bacon for breakfast! Bedside lamps not working but it was rectified as soon as we told the management.
Parking, heated pool, restaurant service, lounge with football on TV. Proximity to cemetery where I was headed.
Too drafty in lobby with doors open too long.
A l round I could not find anything wrong
Staff were pleasant. Very good breakfast.
not much, which was a shame, because it looked a nice place.
no food was available in the resturaunt for evening meal menu plus not all the breakfast was available. no staff on the lounge bar, we had to go to reception to get them to arrange for someone to serve us.
Everything about the hotel was good. Comfy beds, excellent shower. Even though the hotel was busy it was very quite.
Oh dear, the porridge for breakfast. Far to much must have been about a lbs, weight in a large bowl. Very coarse oats and thick enough to chew. Not to be recommended.
