Staff very friendly and helpful We paid extra for a four poster bed as it was a birthday surprise - however the headboard was broken and very uncomfortable to sit up in bed. The bathmat although very clean was frayed and the bath panel was chipped of paint.

The friendliness of staff. Excellent food. Excellent menu. Very good facilities for disabled people. Nothing was too much trouble. My wife and I enjoyed every aspect of the hotel and will be recommending it to our friends. We cannot say anything negative about it.

Breakfast was lovely. Room was great, big bathroom and power shower, cleaned everyday. Just a short walk from Kendal town center. Spa and pool is small but ok. We did have it to ourselves most days! Staff were great and very helpful. Would stay again!

A beautiful historic building which celebrated its heritage with period furnishings and fixtures, whilst still being modern and luxurious. Well done! Our stay was too short!!!!

The staff were friendly and approachable. The hotel was in a great location and easy to find. The deal through booking.com was excellent value for money. The hotel was cosy and comfortable. The pool was empty at the time we used it and so great for peace and relaxation. The hotel atmosphere was calm and peaceful even though quite busy at times: no drunks or same sex noisy groups. The white towels and bedding were clean and the bed was comfortable. The bedroom was clean and recently repainted and fresh. The breakfast was a buffet and good food. The bathroom was mostly clean except that the grout was in need of a scrub and the gap behind the sink and in front of the mirror needed a good clean.

My husband was in Westmorland hospital and I needed to be nearby. The hotel staff were most considerate particularly when I needed to extend my stay as things did not go as expected The hotel was a refuge at the end of each very stressful day.For a normal break I would most strongly recommend itAll other residents when I was there couldn't praise Stonecross Manor, its staff and facilities enough. There was nothing to complain about

An attractive stone built hotel with very nice rooms. The bar had a cosy atmosphere and the meals were excellent. From the photos the pool looked more substantial than it was in reality. It would be worthwhile to improve the pool changing rooms and possibly incorporate a gym and sauna within the hotel complex.

Warm friendly staff . general feeling of welcome & interest in the guests . not a corporate hotel. The shower was memorable . Hot breakfast could have been hotter ,but I know that is difficult when providing self service .
