The cleanliness of the hotel and the quality of the food were excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and obviously enjoyed working in this environment. There was nothing we didn't like about this hotel

The reception staff were friendly and helpful and sorted out a problem efficiently and promptly. The first room we were put in had an adjoining door to next room so we could hear everything happening next door only too clearly! When the TV was still blaring at 1.45am we had to phone down to reception who arranged for us to move rooms. Not ideal but dealt with promptly. Also, breakfast was pricey at £10, we didn't know what we would be paying until it appeared on the bill.

Beautiful looking hotel 15 minute walk into Kendal and a fiver taxi back. Fantastic cooked breakfast, hot and kept coming. Bed comfortable but creaked with every turn and noisy bathroom fans, rooms at the front of the Hotel can hear the road with windows open. We visited at a time of peak demand because of the Great North Swim, so expected to pay top whack and I felt we did. The room was compact for a King 4 poster

We had a very good room which was immaculate the porter was very friendly and helpful . Bed comfortable and breakfast very good. We had only one night as a stop off on the way to family in Scotland and met up with family in Kendal while there. Would positively stay there probably for longer especially at Late Bookings price. Excellent.

The location was good as we just needed a stop off on the way to Scotland. Staff were excellent and we enjoyed our evening meal. The bed - every move made caused the bed to squeak - which meant a very bad nights sleep.

I was not impressd wi the breakfast-hot buffet, food was not piping hot and not very tasty (rubbery scrambled eggs/tinned mushrooms) and for the price the food thought it would have been cooked to order

The staff were eager to please and the hotel was of a good standard in a prime location for visits to the lake district. Unfortunately my.boyfriend and I felt that the.hotel as a whole was a little rough round the edges. Certain odd jobs need to be seen to. Eg. The furniture was mismatched and there were straighter burns on the desk, and stool. However these are all.minor things that could be fixed in a day overall the hotel was of a good standard.

The late check in time was good for us and adjacent rooms Breakfast excellant, nice and hot buffet, serve yourself food replenished so plenty if eating towards the end of the breakfast time slot. Friendly and efficient staff. For a one night stay it was ideal. Decor of room and dining area a bit tired could do with a revamp. Water temperature in shower not that hot.

We stayed at Stonecross Manor as a stop off for one night to break up our journey from The Highlands to Dorset. The location was convenient as not too far off the m6 motorway. The photos online attracted us to book the hotel, and it was comfortable. We were a little disappointed with the breakfast. We were looking forward to a true Cumbrian breakfast to set us up for another long day of travelling, but it wasn't to the standard that we were expecting. Also, we stayed in Room 107 and were woken early due to what sounded like deliveries arriving at the hotel, so a lot of banging doors and loud talking.

First the value was excellent, the hotel was well situated, with a short walk into kendal. The room was very nice and it was nice to have a bath and not just a shower. The staff were very friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for us, but not to the point of iritation. The breakfast selection was excellent and the service was very good. The only thing and it is only a small issue, is the early breakfast and checkout. An extra half hour would make it a more relaxing departure.

“The hotel staff were its best asset. From the moment we arrived every single member of staff went the extra mile to help. We have stayed in many 5 star hotels but none of them would come close to the standard of service given by the staff. I broke a bone in my wrist whilst in Kendal and the staff did everything possible to make the rest of our stay as comfortable as possible. We will definitely be visiting again soon. ” Stewart, Norwich |

However, the Hotel has always provided warmth, comfort, cleanliness, good food and hepfull staff to their guests.
