This 17th-century Manor House is in stunning grounds overlooking Stroud Water Canal and the hills of the Stroud Valley. It has a gym, award-winning restaurant, and routes for cycling and hiking. Stonehouse Court Hotel offers bistro-style lunches and dinners in Henry's Restaurant and Terrace. Henry's has an AA Rosette and serves modern European cuisine with an Eastern influence. The 6 acres of grounds include nice grounds and lawns for a peaceful stroll or croquet. Walk from the grounds to the canal and the countryside beyond. Stonehouse Court is well located for the Cotswold Way, and the chefs can create a packed lunch if you want to spend the day exploring. Some bedrooms are in the manor house and others are in the Garden Wing. All are bright, modern, and many have views of St Cyr's Church and the hotel's grounds. Exclusive rooms and furniture. Fantastic location. Cleanness. On the first view very good, but on the second with some faults (Blood on some curtains, table instable, some curtains stripped). A good matron would see this.

The old world appearance of the outside of the hotel - the entrance, reception, bar and lounge area that is old world and geniune. It is as it states - a bespoke hotel - and does not have the new build funtional feel to it. The rooms were clean and within an expected 3* rating - though not above. Staff were in general helpful, friendly and polite. Badly in need of updating and upgrading especially in the public areas and newly built areas of the hotel. The corridors and carpets were dirty and smelly, the gym equipment was not very clean, the breakfast table presentation was poor, the dining area table mats etc were dated and worn. The hotel is badly in need of a general makeover to maintain a 3* rating.

It was close to where I wanted to be. The food was good and the service was also good. The building was beautiful and its sence of history appealed to me.

Staff were very polite, helpful, and efficient. From the reception staff to the restaurant staff, to the night porter, all were great. The approach and main building itself is impressive and given better weather the grounds would be beautiful. Large, comfy, bar area with big settees and open fires added to the atmosphere. The restaurant was excellent and the food was to a very high standard. It is a restaurant non-residents would travel and chose to eat at, rather than the normal hotel trapped traveller, havent got a choice no effort chips menu. Top marks. Okay, second time here so everything I put here shouldn't stop you booking, for now anyway. The room I stayed in, in the Garden Wing extention, was tired. I imagine the original house has some spectacular luxury rooms but for me, the solo business traveller, the 20yr old extention needs some love. Getting to the room involved 4 sets of stairs and windey corridors. In the old house it was charming but entering the extention it became tired, with fading carpets, and random occasional furniture. Signage directs you to your room but little directs you back. Rooms were tiny with useless dated furniture you couldn't work at even if the wifi did work in my room, which it didn'T. Old telly with Digibox, remote for the Digibox but not for the telly so have to get out of bed to turn it off. Bathroom was clean but very dated and the puckered badly fitted vinyl flooring recently laid I think hides some horrible sins. They need to take the plunge and properly upgrade these rooms, a bit of a revamp will be a sticking plaster on a time bomb. They need to have a plan to gutt this wing soon as they won't last much longer. I would have been easier on the hotel if a single private hotel owner, but this is a group hotel with some lovely properties, so spend some money on it! If they do revamp these rooms what they will end up with is a very desirable hotel and one they can charge a much greater amount for accommodation than the bargain price I paid. With 50% occupancy it would pay for itself in 2 years.

The best beds..very comfy..nice old house with open fires. Not good if you don't like stairs..on many different levels due to the type of building.

Beautiful building including garden, with lovely views; very convenient location near the m5 but not noisy or busy. The reception and restaurant have gorgeous wood panelling throughout. The room was in a more modern wing, so without the period detail, but a good size, clean, and comfortable. The decor in the bedroom, although functional, was a bit tired. Re- decoration is probably needed in the next 3-5 years.

I think using the word Bespoke is not appropriate Room allocated no 20, Needs updating, shower very poor. Room badly designed and cramped. Breakfast very busy on 29/10, staff unable to cope and food not acceptable

Loved the real genuine grade 2 features and the location. Didn't like the dirty windows and the dirty paper tray cover for the tea tray in the room. The cooked breakfast was all overcooked and cold. The eggs were served to order but took a long time so couldn't be eaten at the same time as everything else. The cold selection was very poor. The pastries were not re-stocked so we just had a choice of crumbs on a plate. There were no glasses for juice and the fruit salad was very sad.

Relaxed atmosphere. Beautiful location. Staff very pleasent and helpful First 2 nights lovely and relaxed Saturday night had to pay an extra £35 for the room and breakfast. Because the hotel was full from a wedding on Saturday the breakfast on Sunday morning was not as good as the other days as the hotel struggled to feed and seat the wedding party. We felt a bit like a spare part.

Great setting and has a lot of charm. Service was very good. I could not find a hairdryer in the bedroom and one quickly arrived after I pointed this out to the reception staff. The walls are a bit thin and so you are conscious of your neighbours. Breakfast was only ok.

room in old house, not the annex Young, willing, polite and helpful staff but lacking on details. first we were given a std room although we had booked an upgrade room. After changing to booked room there were only towels for one guest as room had been set up for one. Should have been checked prior to mvoing us. There was no soap on wash-hand basin and a request resulted in more shower gel and biscuits but no soap! Finally there was a 40 minute wait for olvies at supper wwhich were suppose to be an apperative although, because of the wait, we were not charged for them. So series of small errors which staff tried hard and cheerfully to correct but perhaps more training in checking details would help ior may be more staff. There were only about three on duty during our entire stay..

Accomadating staff, willing to try and make amends for what could have been a huge error on there part after booking us in the room we did not book on booking.com . Stunning setting and amazing building on the outside, perfect location for what we were looking for. After being put in an exec double in the garden wing I was satisfied but that's all! It wasn't exactly an exec double! Lack of attention to detail, loose window sills, cracks in walls, no bed valance, stains on carpets in bedrooms, lots of marks to walls. Regarding room service it might have helped to have been given milk for the cereal or even a knife and fork for the full english! Not great just mediocre!

A huge thank you to all the hotel staff. They were first class and couldn't do enough for us. Always happy to give advice and naturally friendly and very helpful. We stayed in an extremely luxurious room No:3 just above Reception in the main part of the mansion house. We felt as if we were experiencing the life of a Lord and Lady as the room was breathtaking, as well as spacious and the bathroom was superb! A very relaxed atmosphere. We will definitely be visiting the Stonehouse Court Hotel again at some point. Our time here was fabulous. It is definitely worth asking for a room in the main mansion house and not the new Annexe Wing. When we first arrived we were shown to a room No:48, which was located in the new Annexe Wing of the Hotel and not the main mansion house. Unfortunately we had to ask to be moved, as the room was dark (mainly due to a large oak tree right outside the window) and the bathroom had a strong musty smell about it. We felt these two issues would spoil our stay at such a lovely hotel. I had especially requested a room with a view, not a room with a tree! The receptionist was extremely helpful and found us another room straight away, which was located in the main part of the mansion house.
