I was booked in for a saturday night and on arrival i found that they had booked me for a sunday night instead. I was offered a complimentry drink of a pint of lager which i can only describe as fowl. Then the receptionist say that the hotel is fully booked and she will ring around other hotels for a room for me. 20minutes later she came back and said she has founnd a room in the hotel, so i went and had a look, it was a rabbit hutch on the second floor with a t.v that did not work and god only knows what the stains were upon the wall !! So as you can guess i was not best pleased and went to complain. She then offered me another room which was better but the decore was shocking. So from a hotel that was fully booked to one that magically appears to have two rooms available was pretty shocking. The staff seemed not to have a clue what was going on and was a very unprofessional set up. I will not book to go back there again.!!!!!!

There is nothing to like in this hotel. Its an absolute waste of money. Very poor value for money. Tiles in the bathroom are cracked. The wall papers in the room are coming out and are very old. The bed creeks. The boilers broke down 2 days that I lived there. The ceiling and walls had fungus on them and I also saw an area on the end of the hall (ground floor) full of fungus over the roof and wall. Service was bad too. The first room given to me had a hole in the wall. I totally regret booking a room there.

The staff were the place's saving grace Hard to put in a nutshell - the place is tatty, uncomfortable, ill kept and generally falling down. It hasn't been decorated since it was built. The breakfast is near inedible and the beds cheap, with a shower that does little more than a watering can. Rooms are small, neighbours noisy, walls paper thin. I would stay somewhere else. Sorry, I know this sounds harsh, but it's pretty accurate

Friendly helpful staff. Quiet at night. Breakfast good. Tv remote not working. They fixed it. Curtain hanging off rail and nets behind it dirty. Mould in shower. Minor details - bed clean and comfortable and all else fine.

The room and bed linen were clean. I did not feel comfortable, relaxed or safe. People from the next building could see nto my room in the day and into the bathroom at night. The matress was poor quality- the type of matress you get included with the very cheapest beds on the market. The carpets in the corridors and stairs looked like they hadn't seen a hoover for weeks.

The only good thing was the breakfast. We had no light in the bathroom, no TV control so couldn't use the TV as it needed the remote. You had to put the kettle on the floor to boil which is very dangerous. The bathroom door was not hung right and you had to lift it up to open and close it. There were people outside the hotel smoking weed both in the evening and in the morning. Not sure if this hotel was also used by the council for DSS clients?

Location and proximity to Victoria Park, City Centre and Rail Station. Credit, where credit due.......special mention for the quality of the towels! The look and feel of this hotel is tired and dated. The double room I booked turned out to be a family room (ie extra single bed). Although clean and tidy, it felt stark and the wash basin tap was very loose! I ordered two alcoholic drinks from the bar and not only did I feel overcharged, the keg beer was cloudy and did not taste right. I did comment on the quality to the woman who served me but I did not feel that she was empathetic

Nothing, in fact as a senior practitioner at Glenfield cardiac unit/ theatres at the time, I thought I was living a nightmare. I was given room 55 and I am sure they have better looking cells in Her majesty jails. Dirtiness, non English speaking staff, dirtiness, leaking sink, broken old tv set and very dirty.

I phoned before to confirm I would only be in at 2am. The chap could not find me on the system firstly and then after he did, he said the rate was double what I had allready paid on the internet booking site. He firstly said he needed my card, then said no. Room was small but comfortable. Breakfast was good but no ambience. When handing in my key, a different person said no payment had been taken but still wanted to charge full price so she corrected it to half as it was on special.

I chose Stoneycroft because of it's location to Leicester College where my daughter was attending an interview. Although the college was only less than 2 miles away the gentleman at reception knew nothing of its whereabouts. We were given a family room which was advertised with Jacuzzi Bath and Steam Room. The instructions in the bathroom were useless and didn't tell you how to turn on the water for the Jacuzzi Bath. I went down to reception where the gentleman behind the desk came up to the room to help us. He didn't know how the system worked either and had no knowledge how any of it worked. In the end we were able to get water running into the bath but it took forever to fill and was much too hot. We were unable to shower in the morning. We had a meal in the restaurant. The girl behind the bar brought our drinks to the table with ice in the coke (no ice was asked for). We ordered garlic bread to be served as a starter. This did not arrive and I had to say we requested it as a starter....my main course was also incorrect having asked for the Salmon on Roasted Vegetables and a Salmon Salad arrived.

We were going out for a friends birthday and needed somewhere close to his house to shower change and sleep that was reasonably priced. The Stoneycroft ticked all these boxes. Bar expensive (£20:70 for 3 gin and tonics). It snowed heavily while we were there but no effort was made by the hotel to clear a pathway to the reception or in the car park to make it easy for people to move their cars on sunday morning.

It had a good Wi-Fi connection which was much appreciated as I work through the internet. It was comfortable and warm and generally very very good value for money. The shower seemed to be stuck on some extremely hot temperature, other than that everything was good.

Hotel location is excellant, as we were visiting Leicester for first time for an open day ay university. Staff friendly and helpful, rooms were clean as was linen, plenty of towels and shower worked well. Breakfast was good and plenty with good efficient service. Manager and receptionist very friendly and helpful and were more than happy for us to leave car in car park for the day after checking out so we didn't have to go looking for car parking at university. All in all a nice friendly Hotel which only needs a little uodating, most of comments on trip adviser are unwarrented, granted its not five star but you are not paying five star prices, I have stayed in many hotels all over the world and would stay in Stoneycroft again. No complaints overall very happy with our stay.
