This award-winning family-run B&B is set opposite Lake Windermere in a 19th-century property which was the former gatehouse to Storrs Hall. The restored Storrs Gate House offers sumptuous bedrooms with free Wi-Fi, hearty breakfasts, and free, ample parking. A full English breakfast is served in the morning. Breakfast items include free-range eggs from a local farm, handmade Cumberland sausage, homemade jam, marmalade, yoghurt and muffins. The bedrooms are decorated with rich fabrics and colours. All rooms have a minibar and a hairdryer, and bathrooms feature power showers and The White Company toiletries. Storrs Gate is less than a mile from Bowness-on-Windermere, with a stunning lake close by. There is a lot to do in the Lake District, including fishing, walking and cycling. Rooms and service were good Breakfast was excellent Staff very friendly and provide advice on local amenities Awkward location on a corner for traffic although the parking space was small it was manageable

lovely guest house, not to far from the centre....very comfortable room, also had a mini bar that was well priced,the owners were both, very welcoming & helpful ,,,,we will be returning .

Vince and Shirley are lovely and accommodating accommodating people. the breakfast was superb. The location of the place couldn't be better. Near the ferry and a short drive away from town. Faultless!

Everything, the room was superb and has everything you need for comfort. The breakfast had an excellcent choice to chose from. My husband was very impressed and commented 'that its the best place he has stayed in' and hes stayed in lots of places. The owners are very friendly and make you feel very welcome. No complaints about anything.

Quite and peaceful-superb breakfasts-very friendly owners.Luxury rooms. Absolutely Nothing, apart from the rain, but it is the lake district!!

This is the first time we have stayed in a B&B but if there all like this it won't be the last. Beautiful accommodation with a lot of effort put into the detailing. Extremely freindly hosts who make you feel right at home, and to top it off great food, what more do you want. If anyone knows of a better one let me know. Highly recommended.
