It was clean tidy , quiet beautiful
Beds were to hard
Location food facilities
Walk into town 15 mins
love the place--that's why we stay 3/4 times a year
The food was great and breakfast was amazing
Even though there was a huge Wedding Party staying, the staff were attentive, cheerful and polite at all times. We asked for a quiet room and we were given one, thank you.
The pool and facilities were very nice, and the staff were friendly and helpful
Bedrooms were nice with big bed and modern decor but the bathroom was a big let down as very dated with crack in toilet!! Outside appearance of hotel needs some TLC
Staff friendliness and location
Nothing all fine, as an old building you expect a slight damp smell on the stairs, this did not affect our stay at all
Full length mirror
Toilet bowl could be cleaner
Easy to find, big bath towels
Not enough toiletries for two people
Great break with the family (3 generations) and dogs. Situated on great grounds and plenty to do - gym and swimming pool or walks. Friendly staff and very clean. Great breakfast.
Staff, friendly, efficient, helpful and do everything they are asked for with a smile
There was damp in my bedroom, behind a bedside cabinet
staff lovely grounds well maintained
outdated didn't look clean in places musty smell didn't eat there far too expensive
We stayed as a couple in a family room over looking the garden. The size of the room was great . The reception staff welcomed us on arrival and were very polite and cheerful. Good choices at breakfast and again the staff in the restaurant were on point when greeting at the door. The bar staff again were friendly and willing to provide any drink request. All staff were polite and professional . My partner and I both slept very well in the super king size bed. Room service 24hrs! ! Hotel situated close to town and shopping centers and cinemas and castles and scenery if you want to wander out. Leisure facilities were good and well kept. Sauna and steam rooms were adequate. I have nothing to fault our stay. It was a pleasure.
Wi Fi was weak. TV channels limited. Phone signals were weak and had to go outside to obtain a clear line.
That dogs were allowed to stay at the hotel and one was left roaming the corridor. I have very young children who are petrified of dogs. It wasn't nice to see them screaming with fright going down the corridor to breakfast.
The freedom to do what we liked. The grounds round the hotel are marvellous Nice sitting in the sun at outside tables with umbrellas. Breakfast third day was excellent for both service and food. Coaches had gone. Staff all very friendly.
Breakfast first morning - completely ignored by staff, and stuck in hot, airless, side room. Dinner second day, huge wait for meal Having 2 coaches in who took precedence, and hotel could not cope. Shower would not turn off. Plumbing needs attention.
Everything............ We planned a nice relaxing weekend after moving house and thats exactly what we got. Thank you We would like to pass on our compliments in particular to the Receptionist, the Bar Tender and especially the young Waiter in the Restaurant His manners were impecable. Thanks again
When we arrived in room 17 on the ground floor at around 8pm, I could not understand what the smell was, but with the window open and the hotel being in the countryside simliar to our own home I just thought it was a smell of ouside, after eating in the resturant and returning to our room the smell seemed worst, as I went to get into bed I realised that the carpet was very wet and could not understand as we had not spilt anything, on looking down we noticed that the internal wall of the bathroom, which was approx 7ft long was damp the whole lenght to a height of approx 1ft. During te night to smell was that bad it made me pyshically sick at around 2.30 am I tried sleeping on the floor near to the window that I could get using the cushions from the settee in the room and a bath towel as a blanket, to little success. My husband woke up at around 6am and asked why I was I the floor after explainging he suggested I sleep on his side of the bed, which I tried but not to much avail because the fire alarm then went off at 6.45am. When we told the reception about the damp problem to the receptionist she suggested that it was from the shower which we could not understand because the bath/shower was located on the other wall. We then complained to the manager in the dinning room during breakfast she suggested it was because of all the rain, again if it had been a outside wall we could of understod that but it was not. Finnally on leaving our room I mentioned it to one of the cleaning ladies who said "Oh yes we have been having problems with this room for weeks, in fact twice we have had someone in to fix it" this room should not have been occupied especailly if someone had chest problems. The manager did phone us yesterday and offer a part refund, we don't know how much - it still has not appeared in our bank account.
Pool Spa Sauna Location Staff
friendly, helpful staff. Good swimming pool and leisure facilities.
tired decoration in the rooms. The old house is nice but the 'modern' extension is uninspiring and not shown on the website. poor sound insulation- old windows meant being woken at the end of a wedding party on saturday night at half past midnight. Expensive evening meal and drinks -£5.10 for a small glass of house wine is excessive
room had a nice view across the front lawns Food was very good Check in was quick
wedding party using function room whilst we were staying who were very noisy and disruptive of other hotel guests plans. Children were running around and spoilt our stay a little.
Very nice stay indeed, will be revisiting
Bed was big and comfortable . evening meal was good. waitress was excellent hope she had a good wedding that week !
wiffi didnt work
I use on a fairly regular basis as I feel very comfortable here home from home with extra facililities pool etc. will carry on using in the future .
I could only stay one night
All staff very helpful and polite. Food surprisingly good. Enjoyed swim and steam room in leisure club just what I needed after long drive.
