Very clean room and welcoming staff. Excellent food and good location near to Rye. Central heating was very hot but controllable. The four poster bed masked the TV and limited storage but these all really minor issues.

Everything about Strand House was perfect. It was an ideal location for our needs. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. The food was the best we have had in a hotel.

Bags of character, good food, and close to the beautiful village of Rye. If you like the idea of staying in a Tudor style house and don't mind low beams, winding staircases and crooked walls, then this is for you.

The house is beautiful and charming and the owners have taken great pains to make it as appealing to their visitors as possible. It really is a lovely spot and there were a lot of small touches that made our stay, even though it was only one night, feel special. It was a very professional operation. The service was very impersonal; when we had trouble parking in the evening due to the car park being full the owner was dismissive, verging on sneering, of our concerns for the security of our car and the inconvenience to others at the B&B (we had to park blocking in another customer). That didn't leave me with a good feeling. The following day when we came down to breakfast there was no 'good morning' or acknowledgment that we were there at all. My husband & were I agreed that though Mary was lovely and made every effort - though she seemed rather rushed off her feet - her partner shouldn't really be running a B&B as his heart didn't seem to be in it, and it showed. To be fair though we were there at a time when they were clearly full to capacity so perhaps his mind was distracted by other things?

welcoming staff and very pleasant intro to the room, hotel and help in the best places to go. Good size breakfast in a relaxed atmosphere. Dinner brought to our room so we could laze the night away! Thank you very much :) the lack of salt in the baked beans!

The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. It is close to 2 quaint little villages - if you are not English I think this would add to its charm. I liked that we could choose to have a picnic breakfast on the balcony of our room. However I think it is geared towards couples rather than families, due to the nature of the house and the location.

We enjoyed our stay in a very friendly, well maintained house that provided and served good food. We found our room (the Crows Nest) a little too small for our liking. We like a chair to sit on to watch TV. Next time we come to stay I will be six feet plus tall.We will come again.

i have a friend who works there and had visited the hotel before when she showed me round. I was very impressed then and wanted to come and stay at the earliest opportunity. When I returned for a romantic stay my partner was even more impressed especially with our beautiful room which overlooked fields. We did not have diner but our breakfast was first class. The staff were very friendly and the service excellent. We will return.
