The recently renovated rooms were very comfortable. Hotel needs air conditioning, a refrigerator and renovated plumbing (WC specifically). Also, for the price paid free WiFi should be included. |

The location was exceptionally convenient to Covent Garden, Trafalgar Square, The Courthauld Institute and many West End Theatres. Easy to find on the Strand. The bathroom was attractive and clean. The lobby is airy and has generous seating. Our room was very noisy since it faced the Strand. We listened to traffic all night. Our double was also smaller than I expected. We arrived during a heat wave, and our room had no a/c, so we had to try to use the standing fan and leave the windows open to try to get ventilation. However, some of the outlets didn't work so we had to unplug the desk lamp to plug in the fan, which had a short cord and the air didn't really reach to the bed. Also, beware when checking out. I had purposefully reserved the room on one of my credit cards that only charges 1% for a currency exchange fee ( pounds to dollars). But when I checked out, to my surprise and without asking me, they had already processed it into dollars using their own system, and charged me an automatic 3% Reuters fee for the exchange. I realized this only afterwards because the clerk folded the full receipt very quickly into an envelope. |

Great location in central london For a hotel to charge the prices it does and have no airconditioning is ridiculous. A loud desk fan is not airconditioning, especially during the hottest week of the year. The room was pretty small compared to similar priced hotels in the area. |

7 Floor had no air conditioning (in corridors or room) - very uncomfortable in hot weather. Also standard of room was not up to the rest of the hotel - furniture chipped and decoration jaded. |

Serveed a purpose as booked late, walking distance from pubs and clubs was a bonus. Additional block on card of £30 to cover any charges was a surprise but express checkout and received statement saying only room was charged, so in the end worked out well. |

The hotel staff were pleasant and efficient. It is also brilliantly placed for a great weekend in London being close to the West End and South Bank. There was no air conditioning in the room, which I expected there to be given I was staying in a Club Room. |

It's a magnificant building close to everything I needed, I was going to the Adelphi theatre on the weekend, how close can I get ?! The staff were always polite and friendly making it an exceptionally well run hotel. There were fans in the room, needed on such a stifling hot weekend and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The lifts, for the amount of rooms there, not really the best lifts. Also we tried the lounge bar and it was more like a waiting room than a social area. No atmosphere and too bright for a relaxing evening.BUT if that's all I can complain about then there's nothing really wrong ! |

the location is perfect for getting around London, and the renovation is a vast improvement.. I once stayed before the renovation and this time and the same problem arose, no ventilation in the room....hot as hell, no air and the stupid fan they supply does not change anything.......they need central airconditioning and a thermostat in each room! |

The hotel was conveniently located with a good variety of dining and drinking establishments on site and within a short walk of the hotel. It was also close to good public transportation. The room I stayed in was recently refurbished and was kept clean throughout my visit. It was however quite possibly the smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in. I'm sure this room is small even by european hotel standards. Also there was no air conditioning in the room, or I believe in any of the rooms, which made it quite uncomfortable during last week's heat wave in London. There was a fan in the room, which owing to the incredibly small size of the room did afford some relief from the heat, albeit not much. |

The location of the hotel was excellent for those wishing to see the sights. No air conditioning was a big let down. I thought also breakfast may have been included for the price paid. I couldn't understand why there was no draught beer in the hotel lounge or Mack's Bar. |
