Location was beautiful great scenery. Minutes from busy city. 40 minutes from Airport but feels like million miles away. Very quiet, very relaxing. Excellent warm friendly staff even night porter.
Room needs a clock. We needed early start for airport. Could of used alarm clock.
Beautiful old house in a pretty setting. Friendly staff OK food - Cullen Skink - average, Haunch of Venison - VG, breakfast OK.
Hotel desperately need £££ spending on updating and refurbishing. Only ONE other room occupied during my stay....made it feel a bit creepy. Rooms were very dated - broken blind, and drawers, poor mattress, pathetic bath and shower pressure, outdated fixtures. Breakfast took nearly an hour (I was the ONLY guest) - no juice, fruit, cereal, pastries etc. offered. Too expensive at £95 B&B!!
Location was brilliant..... The Barman was very good and without him the stay would have been very disappointing (Top man)... Room was just adequate. Bed was very comfy. Parking was fantastic.
No Chef's as they were out till late? breakfast was not available until after 0730? and if the waiter/barman could not cook poached eggs on toast it would have been continental only?
Shower in bedroom didn't work properly.
Room good size , helpful and courteous staff on reception.
Sold out of bitter beer , only had lagers!
Decor in bedroom a little tired
We were greeted by a friendly member of staff and helped to arrange food in spite of our late arrival. The room was comfortable and spacious
Directions would have been helpful when coming off John Muir Way.We were lucky to meet a friendly woman who directed us from the path by the stables.
Food was delicious. Staff were attentive . We were there on business and for pleasure . The in house Falconry was great to see these majestic birds flying so close .
lack of wifi but thats just me .. in all honesty we didn't bother as we were staying there for a break . No need for internet realy
Stunning location with gorgeous view's. Beautiful building and comfortable rooms.
Dinner menu was restricting as it was set menu so had to have minimum of two courses, although food was lovely if you weren't very hungry and only wanted one course you would be forced to pay for two and it was also quite pricey per person.
The setting. deer in the garden In its own grounds Large comfortable bed!
Tartan everywhere! Can seem a bit oppressive
hotel ran on a shoe string, only one member of staff on duty at any time.evening meal cold, ran out of some food ie fish.rooms could do with some attention.we invited local friends for dinner they noticed the decline of the hotel.
