Clean, quiet rooms, great position. Breakfast close at 10:30. That means you can stay in the room up till 10:30, but they stop serving the whole breakfast at 10:00.

Good location, very near city centre. Bar and restaurant in hotel. As already mentioned in other guest reviews lift was not working. The lift that was working was very slow, small and overworked, I know because after having requested a quiet room I was put in the room right next to it so had the full benefit of all the late night revellers falling out of the lift in the early hours. I don't want to sound like an x factor judge but come on Strathdon ...the location is great and you can do better!!!

Hotel is very handy for the city centre and the staff were friendly and welcoming. I was given a double room with shower and bath. A very comfortable stay. Although the full English breakfast was very good you are expected to know that it is self service from a not very obvious servery. Continental breakfast option didn't look so good.

Near to city centre, affordable although we have to pay 50% more for saturday night. Clean and comfortable beds.Hotel is a bit old but have one small lift (which is rare for budget hotels in uk). The best shower in my 15 days in uk. The lifts have to upgrade. That will be add a good point. Thank you!!

clean, nice room, electric kettle on room (tea bags and coffee free) - good value for money and very close to city center outside of my window was very load noise made by hotel's air conditioning. Room had double window to reduce the noise but it prevents one to sleep with opened window

Easy location within reach of city centre. My room was fine once I managed to get in the door! The door fitting at the top of the door on the inside meant that as soon as I opened the door the fitment hit the inside opposite wall and could have caused me a nasty injury as I was expecting the door to open to its full extent. It was a tight squeeze to get in the door at all. Otherwise I could not fault the room in any way.

We had a lovely time. The staff were really freindly and helpful. The place is clean & tidy with nice decor. The location is great for the Nottingham town and is a good 15minutes walk from the Train station so I'd advise a taxi. It is on a busy road which naturally traffic can build, however even though our room overlooked this road it didn't cause too much interference. If we were thinking of a city break in Nottingham again we would be happy to stop here. The only down side is the lift is small, only really enough room for two people max and maybe some bags, which would be a nightmare going upto the 5th floor if both lifts didn't work. Also, there are approx x10 steps to navigate up at the entrance.

The option of a single room was exactly what I wanted. The Strathdon is very handy for the town centre and football/cricket grounds via a short bus/taxi ride or walk. Some guests might not like the noise from the roads and town centre at night (if you leave your window open) but that's due to how central the hotel is located.

Good range of breakfast. Room was very dusty & unvacuumed. Bathroom had mildew. The noise was unbearable and I had 2hrs sleep as a result. There were noisy guests coming back at 3am. I too had been on a night out, but was considerate when I came back at 12:30am. The reception dealt with the noisy guests well though. The other noise was from constant traffic flow. The old fashioned double glazing did not reduce this. Complimentary ear plugs would be a nice gesture in the room :-)

Good location in city centre Very noisy, traffic sounds, sounds from the corridor, 2 parties on saturday night and I could hear the dj clearly in the basement room from the 4th floor; clearly the rooms are not well insulated against noise. It was just plain silly for the hotel to allow one of the parties to use a smoke machine that kept setting off the fire alarm.

“The rooms were comfortable and very clean. The shower was great - really powerful. We had a lovely view as we were on the 11th floor. The staff were really friendly and allowed us to have our room until 3pm, at no extra cost, so that I could shower after running the 1/2 marathon. Breakfast was good.” Cynthia, St Albans |
