“The staff was very friendly and helpful during our two days. The breakfast was excellent and the fresh fruit was spot on! The location in Kensington is very safe and only a five minute walk from the underground station which made it easy to get around London.”

Located in South Kensington, St Simeon provides basic bed&breakfast facilities for the budget-conscious traveler. It is convenient for Earls Court and the famous museums on Cromwell Road. Gloucester Road Tube (subway)Station is close by (Piccadilly, District and Circle lines), making St Simeon within easy reach of theaters, nightlife and London's vibrant shopping areas. Public car parks and parking meters are about a 5 minute walk away, and there is a wide selection of bars and restaurants within a very short walk. The hotel's period-style decor is combined with modern necessities, including a communal kitchen. An English breakfast is available in the morning and there are newspapers in the lobby. The location was perfect! (we were singing with our choir in the Royal Albert Hall) A very short walk from the tube with shops and restaurants at the end of the road. The price was unbeatable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was unusual but plentiful! The kitchen is available for residents to use during the day and evening. There was an unlimited supply of fruit available all day. The room was tiny and basic but clean and adequate for our needs. And it was quiet at night. I was informed by staff that there were hairdryers available. However I would advise you to bring your own as the ones provided were about as useful as having my friend breath on me!

Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean enough There was a surreal obsession with fruit and vegetables and don't expect the most modern hotel. Noise between the rooms was poorly suppressed.

We chose this hotel due to its location with respect to the Royal Albert Hall. For 55 pounds, we got an ensuite double room with breakfast included. The staff were really nice and helpful and the breakfast was also good. Located in a quiet place. Good heating. The room was quite small (just the bed and a small closet and bedside table), and the shower didn't appear to be very clean. However, for the price we paid, and comparing it to other hotels in London, it was good value for money

We got a very small room with a defect heater - after a complain we were moved to a larger, warmer and much better room at once. A litte dirty... The fruit at the breakfast wasn't fresh But overall the breakfast was ok and better than expected...

It was brilliant value for money. The staff couldn't do enough to ensure that we were happy and comfortable. Breakfast was literally all you can eat and the staff would try their best to find something that you would like if they felt you weren't happy with the selection offered. The room was immaculate and warm. We had a very nice stay!

Staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good. Location was close to good restaurants. Hotel is only suited to those wanting very basic budget accommodation and was well below my basic standard. Rooms were ok, but bathroom was small and old.

Location, location, location... Gloucester tube station was only 400 meters from the Hotel. Hyde Park and Museums also nearby. The area was very rich (you cannot miss the huge amount of Porsches, Maseratis, Audi Q7:s parked in the street). So it is very safe for families. Full English breakfast was very good, but after five days we were little bit fed up with the sausages, beans, eggs and stuff. Beware of the fruits. Our hotel room was very small. Rooms were not soundproof.

Perfect location (10 mins walk to Gloucester Road station for District and Piccadilly line in Zone 1). Practically unlimited fruit at breakfast. Kitchen can be used at downstairs. Room 30 is small. But if you use it for city tours it is fine.

Stayed 15/09/11.Arrived at 9.30pm due to travel problems and got a very warm welcome from reception. Was given a downstairs room due to mobility problems and the lift was very efficient for getting to the basement breakfast area.Room had dble bed plus single and was fine for short stay with tv ,wet room and curtained alcove wardrobe.12 Yr old and I slept well and felt safe, lovely view of mews through window.Within easy walking distance of tube and bus stops and Science museums etc.Breakfast was plentiful,at shared tables with ham, fruit, toast, rolls, cereals and full English available plus cucumber on the tables. Hotel had the feel of a familyrun b&b and not a chain which was lovely.Checkout was simple and reception again very polite and friendly.Lovely quiet area, safe to walk around at night and shops close by.I'd happily recommend to anyone.

We come across two front desk staff. The one with evening duty happened to be much more helpful than the other who just wanted to sell some bus tour. The kitchen people were all very nice. We did enjoy every breakfast time. There is a kitchen which we could use as we like even during night time. We managed to cook some evening meals there. The room is untidy and not clean enough. Though the toilet is equipped with a water basin (too small) and a shower corner (without any racks or hooks), there are just put there seemingly without any thoughts about whether they could be used at ease. We stayed at the hotel for one whole week and it's not difficult to imagine the lasting inconvenience to us.

The best thing about St. Simeon was the staff -- we had excellent attention and kindliness from everyone from the front desk to the hotel driver to the maids and kitchen personnel. We experienced a tragedy back home in the states while on our stay, and the desk staff at the hotel helped us greatly with communication, both in timeliness and in cost effectiveness. Best wishes to all staff members at St. Simeon, and a special bow to the front desk clerks. The room was quite small, even by London standards, and someone had positioned the wardrobe so that it partially blocked the one window that could be opened for ventilation. I'd suggest rigging both windows to open, and/or installing a fan -- either a ceiling fan, or even a small oscillating fan. Obviously, guests don't want to invest in a fan for a one to three night stay.

We arrived about 9am, knowing that we couldn't get into our rooms until 3pm, but hoping to be able to leave our cases in safety. The management were happy to store the cases, and could obviously see how tired we were after over 30hours on the journey. They made available another room for us to rest in, and provided breakfast. They seemes anxious to oblige, and treated us with kindness. The proximity to Gloucester Road Tube Station was good, and the general area around the Hotel felt safe day and night. Although the staff were obliging, they didn't quite deliver the service we expected. Compared to other places we stayed, we felt the prices were excessive.

The hotel is at a good place and the staff was really friendly. The breakfast was wonderful and we were stuffed... This budget hotel is a family run hotel and maybe they don't have enough capital to renew all the windows, at least not in all rooms. The walls are rather thin. Be sure to take a soap with you as it is not provided. My biggest problem was that when we have arrived, they have made us pay the fee in advance for the whole stay and after that, they have told us that they currently can't provide us with the four bed room we've booked. Although had I known that before paying for the room, I would have still paid the fee in advance, but this way I felt a little being "trapped". Fortunately, after a day, we've received the room with four beds, and everything turned out to be fine.

Not alot really, the room was so so cold and damp you literally could not swing a cat! Mind you, you would of been able to swing a gerbil!!! The breakfast wasnt that great either, cold very greasey and the toast was made from a baggeutte which seemed to have gone stale as I couldnt bite into it. Myself and a collegue who stayed were actually laughing at how bad this hotel is!!

The staff are very friendly and helpful. You started your day with a very big breakfast served at your table. They are constently going round asking if you would like something else. A very good selection of food. Bedroom served its purpose, TV didnt really work but although the children didnt like that fact I was not bothered. This hotel is a bit tired looking, a fresh coat of paint, a bit of dusting on top of the reception and moving mattresses from the stairs would make it look so much better.
