I like everything. The response from the staff after booking, the check in and the beautiful room with so many thoughtful extra's (little bottle of port and shortbread was particularly lovely). Don't book here if you want large, trendy and minimalist rooms. Do book if you want quaint, cosy and beautifully decorated rooms. Love it and will be back ;-)
great place, funky, stylish, hip. loved the honesty bar
We were greeted by Sara who is so lovely, helpful and informative. She told us where to park, showed us to our room and offered to book a table for dinner or breakfast at their sister hotel. Where to start with the gorgeous room! It was beautifully decorated and I can tell they take pride in their interiors and design pieces they choose. You can see the quality in every aspect of the room. We especially loved the thoughtful little touches like complimentary sweets, water, Port and lavish bath products. The room was spacious, comfortable and quiet. It was well located right by the main square and parking was easy and close by. Another thoughtful and convenient feature they have added in the check in area is items you may need or have forgotten. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. We had such a lovely stay. We do hope to come back. Also The Bell (the sister hotel) is a lovely dinner option. We had delicious meal there with drinks. The staff are a pleasure and it is warm and cosy. Thanks Sara and staff for an outstanding welcome to the Cotswolds :)
Excellent location -- it's a minute from the middle of Stow and easy access by a minute walk from car park with your luggage on arrival. Helpful staffs who recommended about parking and useful notes on the wall in reception area about breakfast and things.
Nothing really. However, some guests might be surprised if they arrive a little late and find the hotel are all in the dark. There's a note about how to contact staffs who live not so far from the place. Some oversea travellers might be frustrated. No problem for me though.
It was a great location and the desk help was wonderful.
Great attention to detail and good customer care: Nice bathroom products topped up daily Hair straigteners provided in the room Good brands of teas, coffees, hot chocolates and waters provided and topped up daily alongside delicious slices/cakes
Noise carried a lot at Stuart House including people talking in the reception area Could hear people walking and floor boards creaking in the upstairs rooms Inconsiderate next door neighbours getting back at 4.30am and talking loudly on their phone was not ideal
Honesty bar Quality of furnishings Cleanliness Free extras Service Location In fact everything
Great location, right in the centre Lovely room and bathroom Brilliant little extra touches
Fine for us, but could be a tiny bit noisy as right in centre
Everything was 1st class could not fault anything.
Warm and friendly staff, would absolutely go back. Little quirks such as the honesty bar where you could pick up some toothpaste and scotch if you forgot to bring were a clever addition. Lovely outside courtyard area too, and a stone's throw away from yummy restaurants and fanciful antique stores.
Friendly staff, excellent amenities
Very very noisy with the road running outside. Building work taking place until the eay hours of the morning
Room is small, but didn't bother us or cause any problems! Location is perfect, staff very friendly! Nice touch the port shortbread and brownies will definitely go back.
Eating at The Bell was a very good experience the food was excellent and the staff fantastic with exactly the right attitude to the customers.
I have to say a great place to stay with only one draw back, the room window did not open, we were given a fan but nothing like having the window open. The ladies on duty were extremely helpful all the time.
Staff were attentive and welcoming on arrival. Very well run establishment with great little added extras such as port, DVD's and milk etc; Highly recommended for couples for a great relaxing break away.
Pillows bit soft for my liking and room did not have much natural light. Having said that they are listed buildings it's quite understandable.
Centre of town, near to all facilities, clean, comfortable.
No car parking on site, spiral staircase was hard to climb.
Everything other than the bed and pillows. The fresh milk, cafetiere coffee, lovely decoration, small and sweet and fab location. Greeting from staff was great.
The mattress was lumpy and pillows were rock hard and the shower was luke warm and the room was boiling hot... hence we really didn't sleep well at all. Such a shame as everything else was lovely. We stayed in room 3.
One of the nicest places I've ever stayed. Loved everything, highly recommended.
The stairs up to the second floor are a little awkward but that's just being picky. In all honest there was nothing I didn't like!
In centre of town but still quiet. The little things like the small decanter of port!
Location and quality of rooms
Parking was abit awkward
Difficult to find due to very small sign !
The warm welcome by staff, the beautiful cozy room, posh bedding, top quality tea/port amenities in room, complimentary baked goods each day, location, lovely courtyard, interior design just amazing.
Only that I couldn't stay longer.
comfortable, location, no false pretences, friendly helpful staff, well decorated.
bit noisy from the guests next door when they used the shower
Our room was lovely, very clean and extremely comfortable. Staff were polite and helpful. We ate at The Bell and highly recommend that too.
There was nothing to dislike.
General ambiance Convenience to town/village centre Reception Room with milk, supplies and honesty bar Relatively spacious Quirky decor Excellent waterfall shower
Roadside room Bedroom 1 - noisy Bed ok - but poor cover between mattress and sheet so could feel buttons Overly hot - could not open window or shut off or isolate the towel radiator Bathroom sink not cleaned completely on second day
Staff, location, cleanliness, comfort
Being able to hear everything in rooms around us. Plumbing pipes from rooms above going through our room. Noise from showers and toilet flushes a bit disturbing.
