Food and the welcome
Limited bar choice
Mine host couldn't have been more welcoming, the quality of the evening meal was excellent and very good value. The room was large and spacious with a very comfortable settee.
Nothing really, the bathroom is a little dated but perfectly functional with plenty of towels.
Excellent breakfasts and comfortable beds.
Early time for last breakfast but the emphasis is "tea room with rooms" Early evening closing in the restaurant unless reservation made. Ample car parking
The Room The Staff The Location of Stumbles
The Wifi being limited connectivity meaning I couldn't get online.
Beds Location Milk in fridge
Shower door didnt close Poor TV Couldnt log on to WiFi Dated decor
WE WERE THERE FOR 3 NIGHTS, THE STAFF WERE FRIENDLY AND WE WERE MADE TO FEEL VERY WELCOME, THE ROOM WAS COMFORTABLE AND VERY CLEAN, NO FAULT THERE.
BEAKFAST ON MONDAY 28TH JULY 2014 SLIPPED WELL BELOW STANDARD AS THE FRIED EGGS WERE CRISPY, THE BACON WAS ALSO OVERDONE, THE SAUSAGE WAS RAW ON ONE SIDE, THE OTHER SIDE WAS OVERCOOKED,THE WOMAN COOK WAS,NT AS FRIENDLY, BIT OF A LET DOWN AS THE OTHER BREAKFASTS ON SUNDAY AND TUESDAY WERE EXCELLENT AND PROPERLY COOKED BY THE MALE COOK WHO WAS A REALLY NICE GUY. THERE IS NO REAL NIGHT LIFE IN THE VILLAGE SO IF YOU LIKE THINGS SLOW THEN THIS IS FOR YOU.
Staff were lovely and food very good? Location and parking excellent
Shower in room 2 could be better
Loved everything, from the very friendly staff, to the clean comfortable room and food to die for! A one price menu of only £20 for a three course meal of locally sourced food that was cooked to perfection and served with a smile and breakfast was just as delicious. Another benefit of this great little find was that although it was situated right in the centre of a quant and busy little town it had plenty of parking facilities available to residents. A great find and we will definitely be visiting again.
the breakfast was excellent. bed was very comfortable
staff seemed very pre-occupied didn't introduce themselves to us which was not very professional. no time to stop and talk to us.
we loved the courtyard, sitting in the sunshine and enjoying a relaxing drink. Bedroom nice and airy, and we liked the fact we had 2 arm chairs in the room. food in the restaurant was great as was breakfast
shower was tricky to manage and could do with a new shower curtain

Really friendly and efficient staff, lovely big quiet room, even had a small fridge! excellent breakfast, good atmosphere.
I suppose one could say it could do with a bit of updating, especially the shower.
Friendly, helpful reception and service. Super breakfast
We were warmly welcomed. The room was large and comfortable. Bedding was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble for the co-owner Patrick. Would like to stay there again.
Quiet. Helpful management.
Good size room with very comfortable bed. Tea & coffee making facilities. Excellent breakfast in attractive restaurant. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Shower was over bath and a little underpowered. TV controller didn't work.
Nice spacious room, quiet location out the back off the main street. Excellent quality breakfast.
No wi-fi in room.
The bright airy rooms. Local produce used for cooking. Central location. friendly owner.
The owner was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. Beds were extremely comfortable. The breakfast was excellent.
Rooms were very hot, even for my normally cold daughter! No details in the welcome folder on how to log into the wifi. No mobile signal
A good, clean west country hotel which gave us an excellent airy room, and the staff were delightful - always cheery and helpful, and nothing was too much trouble. Our meal in the restaurant was excellent too.
No criticisms at all.
The location , the food was excellent, the room was home from home ,light and big room ,
food was excellent, staff were really helpful and nice
We had a warm welcome From the owner. The room was warm and welcoming and he had kindly left us fresh milk in our fridge for tea and coffee. Our full English Breakfast was excellent .
Not being able to stay longer!
Very friendly reception from landlady so helpful too. Room was very spacious and clean. Sadly restaurant was full for evening of our stay but there was other options locally. Stumbles breakfast was superb and cooked using fresh local produce. A breath of fresh air from all the large hotel chains.
