We Didn't like the place at all. This was a bed & breakfast with a sea view. The breakfast was mediocre for although the fried breakfast was ok, there was nothing else like the usual cereals or fruit juice etc. The shower didn't work, there wasn't a shelf or coat hook in the tiny bathroom, no shampoo or bath salts just a tiny round piece of soap, Even the toilet tissue was of the budget supermarket brand. We paid £70.00. for a room, and the couple with us paid £70.00. for the other half of the room because the room had been partitioned off so we each had half a bay window. I wouldn't stay here again if it was a free offer on a cornflakes packet. If we wanted to stay in a bed & breakfast establishment we could have found somewhere for around half the price we paid, and had it been as bad as this place we would have still have been disappointed. I'd like to say the place is a joke, but it just wasn't funny..

Greeted by smell of currie which permeated the reception area.. Ground floor and staircase seemed imressive, but accommodation area had cramped narrow landing and corridors. Shabby. We were shown to a small, poorly decorated bederoom. It was very cold indeed. There was a small portable heater only.. We wanted to change hotell but understood that our booking must be honoured. We were offered a different room. This was the other half of one divided room, a bit lighter than the first. It was very cold indeed. The same heater was offered. then the propoietor agreed to turn on the central heating. One chair only. The bathroom had no stool, no shelf for toiletries, no shampoo, tissues, dhower gel etc.,just one small disc of soap. Toilet paper was surely the cheapest possible. No deodorant. The W.C. was very low and should surely have had a handrail. The mat round the washbasin had been hacked from a bit of carpet with no attempt to fit it - easy to trip over., Perhaps this was once a hotel - teapots .are engraved with the St Winifred's name. Now it cannot surely be classed as a hotel. Its accommodation appears to be the result of outdated, shoddy attempts at DIY.

I liked the friendly attitude of the family run hotel. Although it is not ultra modern and may need a few improvements. I felt the approach the manager made was very refreshing. He made sure my stay there was as comfortable as possible. I would have no hesitation in going again.

This hotel is in need of a comlete revamp. At the very least it needs a safety review. The service at breakfast was dreadful with hot breakfasts being delivered before cereals, hot drink orders forgotten altogether and staff whos, not through any fauilt of there own, whoo clearly had no idea about service. This is not a complaint but a reflection of my overall exlerience.

I cannot praise the staff at St Winifred's too highly. Nothing is too much trouble and every reasonable need is met. There is a friendly, family atmosphere and, as a regular guest, I regard it as 'home from home'. This is a great location if one wishes to visit the magnifent scenery of The Lakes or the Yorkshire moors. The view to The Lakes across the bay is a constant source of wonder. I would unhesitatingly recommend this hotel to anyone planning to visit Morecambe.

The hotel has rooms with direct views over Morecambe Bay. It's quiet and peaceful reminscent of a Victorian/Edwardian seaside town. Walking distance to the town centre and only a short drive to Lancaster, and easy access to the Lake District, (30 mins.) where hotels are much more expensive. Family run, the rooms are clean and a full English breakfast is served. Excellent price/quality. Full restaurant facilities in the hotel would have been useful, but other restaurants are nearby.

The staff were really very friendly & helpful. Obviously a family business and they clearly love what they are doing. The linen and bathrooms were very clean, but the whole hotel needs a refurb! Broken fittings, bathroom door wont close, furniture very shabby. Stairwell in a terrible state. This should be a 1 star hotel not 3!

I am a frequent guest at St. Winifred's Hotel because the staff are so welcoming, helpful and attentive. The location is superb, with views across the Bay to the Lakes opposite. I have room to park my car off road, so that it is secure. In addition there is a WiFi link which enables me to keep up to date on line. All in all, a very satisfactory holiday break.

I was given an excellent sea-view room, the hotel was a very pleasant place. The staff obliging. There was a slight smell of curry downstairs, but some guests might find that OK. Curry is certainly a nice smell when you're hungry. They assumed breakfast would be at 8.30 - a little late if you're on business, but they did make that 8.30 for me and might have made it earlier. There could have been shampoo in the bathroom.
