Louise couldn't be helpful enough, and the place was spot on. More than just a room - plenty of facilities so could have spent a week here :) Also, being a working farm, the fresher-than-fresh milk was delicious!!!
The snow, but that couldn't be helped!
Very welcoming owner and lovely remote location but close to Keswick.
Stybeck Farm is a traditional working farm in a beautiful location. The breakfast is excellent and the landlady welcoming, friendly and very helpful. I would stay there again.
Friendly down to earth owners.
Comfortable, clean and spacious
There was nothing I didn't like except for the signpost which was a little small.
I booked a one night stay at the Stybeck as it was ideally situated between Grasmere and Keswick. The double room was spacious and had self catering facilities, a bathroom with excellent shower and a comfy sofa. The location was remote but this helped as I got a good nights sleep ready for a walk I was doing the following day. And finally, the owners of the guest house were friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend Stybeck.
The wi-fi was a bit intermittent.
It's a farm. The owners work hard . It's cosy even when it's raining. Just what we wanted to get away from the stress of town life. The people and pets couldn't be more welcoming. The pub next door is expensive for food but good and very pleasant . Keswick a ten minute drive if you want cheaper night life.
Very quiet location 5 miles from Keswick. 2 good rooms, large one has own front door, a four poster bed and a small kitchen. Good breakfast, charming hosts.
Nothing, it was all very good.
Not to far from Keswick Only a local bus ride away The bus stop was at the bottom of the farm track on the main road Value for our money inc breakfast And the b and b did one night stays unlike lots in the town centre
The location, the family and hospitality
Very poor wi-fi
Great fun being on a working farm, surrounded by beautiful countryside. Peaceful spot to come back to after the busy tourist scene of the lakes resorts. Host very friendly and a lovely cook.
Our room was very tiny, but comfortable enough.
Warm friendly welcome on a busy working farm Good location for reaching both the southern and northern lakes. Local beauty spots include St John in The Vale, This is also a suitable starting point if you want to walk up Hellvelyn
The only negative for me is that the pillows were much harder than I prefer. I've given comfort and sleep quality a rating of good. This could have been excellent with different pillows
Very, warm, comfortable with very friendly host.It was ideal for an overnight stay and is a lovely working farm
Nothing, but you need car as you need to travel to Keswick, for shops or restaurant
I loved staying on a working farm, it gave me some insight into farming life. Very relaxed place and was immediately made welcome. Will definitely come again and have already recommended it to my friends.
Nothing I didn't like.
Large, comfortable room, including TV sitting area, kitchenette and bed, with separate shower and toilet. Much larger than the typical Lake District B&B room. Situated on a working dairy and sheep farm. Hospitable hosts. Full, hearty English breakfasts. Centrally located for touring, hiking and eating. Would definitely recommend.
No soap or shampoo provided.
Very warm and friendly, wanted to go walking on the day we left and was allowed to leave car at the farm which was great
Great breakfast. Beautiful surroundings and close to bus stop. Very friendly.
The jug of lovely fresh milk already in the fridge on arrival was great! The room I stayed in was slightly dated but spacious, clean and tidy and had great self-catering facilities including fridge, microwave and small hob. A nice sofa to sit on too. There was a friendly welcome and breakfast was tasty.
Courteous, affable owners, excellent food, lovely secluded location (but relatively close to Keswick and Ambleside).
Very friendly owners who run the B&B as well as a working farm. Generous breakfast of lovely, locally sourced, things. Very close to a pub that serves good food. Will take dogs - although says not on the website.
Gorgeous farm setting Excellent breakfast Fresh milk from the farm Friendly and helpful hosts Comfortable bed with lots of pillows Very warm and cosy
The host was fantastic, as we got lost she came and picked us up which we're so grateful for, she also gave us a lift into Keswick the next day which was very nice of her to do! The room was very comfy and quite nicely decorated, could hear sheep from our room which was quite nice! Breakfast was delicious, a great place, would love to stay again!
The shower in our bedroom was a little lacking in power
Pleasant breakfast room great for guests to chat during meal, which was more than substantial. Liked the farm atmosphere, sheep in the meadows, chickens in the yard.
The water pressure in the shower was abit low.
The toilets were horrible. One of the toilets was inside the room and was only closed with a curtain. Which is extremely not hygienic. There were many flies inside the house and the rooms. The rooms are very small. In the second room, the door to the toilers did not close well. There were many bees in the area which was horrible for our youngest son as he is allergic to bees, so we had to be very careful. The price was too high for what we got in return. We would never recommend this place to anyone.
