Convenient location. Surprise as room located in outside block (old stable block) but very spacious. Traditional pub. No food apart from breakfast but landlord welcoming and very helpful regards eateries in the town. Breakfast good, served in small conservatory.

Bedroom bigger than usual and comfortable bed. Good, freshly cooked English breakfast. Staff very friendly and helpful. Located right in the centre of town, not far from bus and train stations. The bathroom was extremely small, and difficult to use. The wash basin was tiny and there was no hot water for a bath two days running, (though we were given £20 discount for this problem.) The bedroom decor and soft furnishings were 'tired'. The access to the car park and the accommodation (at the rear), was unprepossessing and the premises as a whole had a tired and run-down feel. It did not live up to its billing and was expensive for what was offered.

The hotel is situated right in the middle of Malton, a lovely town with a good market, a nice mix of shops, cafes and interesting buildings, there's two lovely churches, and a tourist information stop right in the market place. The room at the hotel was very spacious with an adjoining room which would have been ideal for a family, the decor was modern and bright. Although the hotel is central the room was located in the patio area and was very quiet. The breakfast was served in a small atrium in the centre of the small hotel and was very good. We didn't use the public bar but it looked very cosy and traditional. We just stayed overnight, but I could have stayed longer, and will return.

Small hotel. Ideally situated for walking and visiting Castle Howard. Easy parking. Room was ok and very quiet. Breakfasts were very good. The town itself is pretty and has some very good places to eat. Good value for money.
