The staff were excellent, as were the patrons at the pub. Owners kind and helpful. Good breakfast. A very friendly place.
Nothing to dislike. The usual noise that comes with it being a pub but not at an unacceptable level.
staff were friendly
place appeared to be closing down
Friendliness of staff. Good location in town. Easy to find. Very clean. Room was lovely and warm with plenty of hot water, and toiletries to use if not using your own.
En-suite a bit cramped, but spotlessly clean.
Breakfast was excellent Friendly staff Good and busy pub
Room not brilliant
These quirky pubs are disappearing fast and need our support. Real local pub . Very good beer. Friendly owners and staff. Good full English breakfast. Clean room.
Shabby tired furniture in the bedrooms.
The beer, the people, the atmosphere, the breakfasts all contributed to an unique experience in a typical Yorkshire hostelry!
The traffic was horrific for most of the day. Thankfully, we couldn't hear it at night as our bedroom was at the back.
The location, the staff, the beer and the food were brilliant.
Nothing I didn't like.
location in middle of market town and real people in the place, everyone friendly, helpful and for once, a pub without music so you can actually converse with the people around you Room spotless and quiet. Breakfast amazing, just like my mam used to cook for me - nothing too much trouble. Will stay there again when I am in Malton
The staff were friendly and give us a good welcome
The room was not what I paid for on the booking form it stated a double room with room joined with 2 singles instead we were giving a room with double bed and single bed. Also the room was badly in need of upgrading
The staff were exceptionally friendly and bent over to make us comfortable. The English breakfasts were huge and hearty.
Ver difficult to find, work still going in refurbishing the place. Owner/manager? Apologised for the fact that the bed coverings ere damp..leaking roof. Incredibly small bathroom, no room to turn. Over expensive for what it is....cost should be no more than 50% of what I paid for two nights
Room was a bit dated but Ok for our purposes.
all very friendly and helpfull
walk from rooms and car park through back of building which is undergoing some building work, will probably be OK when finished
Location, good selection of real ales in an open fire bar area, friendly staff, excellent breakfast, good live music when we were there, spacious bedroom, great shop full of bottled beers.
Couldn't find it as signage was really poor,no heating in the bedroom but very cosy and warm in the bathroom!
The atmosphere in the bar, friendliness of the staff. Location.
Access to the car park was uneven and difficult to walk on.
Staff couldn't have been more helpful and the location was excellent - close to the station
Nothing wrong with the facilities but maybe a little tired!
convenience for my journey
room being in an outbuilding
staff friendly really good nights sleep, highly recommended as a pub/hotel
wanted breakfast but my job timings were not there, as a working pub I was impressed
Good Quality accomodation, friendly staff.
Not that far from station. Inn style. Possibly best English breakfast I've ever had. Pleasant and comfortable surprise accommodation. Bit of a 'quirky' hotel but I liked it! Friendly. Interestingly, one of the few places I've been which actually provides enough of those little milks!
Not exactly didn't like, but just to let people know not to be put off by the exterior which looks a bit run down, or the pub interior. The accommodation and breakfast makes up for it!
