The fact that the entertainment was shared by 2 other hotels,,and was never enough seating to sit in the room.so you were pushed out although we had paid to be in this hotel and to enjoy its ammenities |

Lovely view on getting up. Breakfast was disappointing. Poached eggs were cold and fish was poorly prepared. Admission to the restaurant was by staff but he was off chatting with other staff so we (and others) were kept standing at the entrance. |

I was very glad to be able to book two single rooms for a fairly good price at last minute.I enjoyed the closeness to the seaside very much.Breakfast was very good. I absolutely hated the parking scheme. The first night someone had blocked me in and it took me 20 min to manouver out of it. The second night I didn't get a place at all. This affected me badly that next time I would probably look for a hotel with garanteed parking. |

I thought the position overlooking the bay was really excellent. There were very goog opportunities for morning/evening strolls either along the cliff or going down to the beach. the hotel has seen better days. The staff were noncomittal and not engaging at all. The room was inadequately clean I had to ask for the ceiling to be vacuumed as there were lots of cobwebs!! Underneath the bed had not been vacuumed. The bathroom blind was in a poor state. The television was small and a long way from the bed and only four channgels worked. The room was right next to the lift. The bathroom was clean and warm and the towels good, but the general look was tired. Doors marked walls scuffed. Very poor tea making facilities - miserly comes to mind. Breakfast - no fresh fruit and the poached eggs were poor. The toast was cut with a laser beam. Public rooms were adequate, lacked atmosphere and staff had no warmth. |

The location was excellent, facilities were good. Free parking on site. Do not go if you are under 70!! Reception was somewhat chaotic, breakfast service was slow, and average. |

Goog staff, excellent location, sea views. Hotel itself largeish, stuck in the 70s, but they keep it as well maintained as they can without spending any proper renovation money. |

The location of the hotel I am really upset I booked double room and ended up in a rabbit hatch. I eventually left a night early . It was supposed to be a modern new room?? As someone who has stayed at the Ocena group for years . i ahve alway been happy to sya in the old rooms a s they were spaciaous and good value and by the sea. Now I feel I am just being ripped off. |

Some staff were polite and efficient. Breakfast was ok. We didn't spend too much time at the hotel. We had the family room, which was very tatty and outdated. There was one of the old brown blankets under a flowery bedspread, the walls were scuffed and tired, as was the furniture. When we flushed the toilet, it gurgled up into the sink - no-one attended to this during our two night stay. We arrived late on Friday night after a four hour drive, and the Receptionist did not even look up to acknowledge us. When we finally got to sleep after listening to numerous drunken guests in the corridors and in surrounding rooms, we were woken at 3.00am by the room next door having the TV on extremely loud. |

The breakfast was small but good, and the staff serving breakfast polite and efficient. Location was quite good. Could hear every drunk resident returning to their rooms all through both nights. Could also hear every movement from surrounding rooms. Hardly slept all weekend. |

The breakfast was good and the pool/ terrace in The Cumberland next door was also good. The remainder was poor Some of the rooms were dated, therefore not appearing clean. There was limited parking. The staff were quite unfriendly, except at breakfast. The indoor pool was too hot. |

The general situation and the excellent dining-room service We found the bedroom much smaller than expected, and the provision of bedroom refreshments very meagre. |

I found it ideal for a family holiday with an older special needs child. It's difficult to get a triple room in most hotels and my wife and I require such because of our son's needs. The views are tremendous (as log as the sun is shining! ) and it's within easy walking distance of the town centre. The concept of a buffet style cold breakfast, followed by a traditional english hotel breakfast served by a waiter, is something I hadn't encountered before and is a great idea. Price of drinks in the hotel compared favourable with Bournemouth pub prices unlike a lot of simlar tourist hotels in other resorts. All the staff very extremely helpful. The temperature of the indoor pool varied from day to day, I think this depended on the time of day. I also couldn't find a standard hotel facilities booklet in my room which would normally cover items such as : Time of breakfast, TV channels available, general services available in-house, 24 bedroom food menu, local bus services, FAQs. Similarly a list of places of interest and things to do in Bournemouth would be helpful. Maybe this exists and someone just forgot to check they were in my room before we checked in. I knew the Cliffside and the Cumberland were sister hotels from the Internet but maybe many visitors don't because of lack of information. I will be returning though on another holiday as it was very good value for money. |
